  1. Have to disagree with respect. Of course some of the post was opinionated. However, it was backed up with facts. I stand by my post 100%. There is really no need to delve into the phrase "brutally honest." I think we all know the generally theme of the statement. You really seem to be intellectualizing the point to a flaw. Let me clarify. Often critical and or negative forwarding posts receive much flack. Perhaps even intimidation and mocking. I know I've experienced that myself. For example, recently a poster iterated that I say the same negative points over and over. Suggesting I get a hobby. Clearly, if my posts were overtly positive I would have never received such a comment. Likely, my post would be welcomed with open arms, thumbs up, and fist pumps. I've seen it over and over and over. Comments like you are dead to me when a poster predicts a negative Bills outcome. Your ad homimun comment certainly doesn't apply to my post. I am not trying to imply myself or anyone else is tough minded and or wimpy. Such a claim would be unprofessional and frankly horrible. Implying that I have done that is overtly disingenuous. Hopefully, that wasn't your sentiment. Hope that clarifies my post. I will continue to use the term with respect when applicable.
  2. Intellectualizing is a great defense mechanism. Your post fits that to a T. Of course you want to play in January. However, you fail to take to next logical step. On all levels this post falls blatantly flat bordering on disingenuous and condescending.
  3. What a post! I happen totally agree with you. I'm not sure any reasonable Bills fan can disagree with your post. The facts simply verify your points. Your post won't be popular but I'd rather hear the truth than blind optimism. Thanks for being brutally honest.
  4. 100% in agreement. Well said Gregg. Very nice post!
  5. This is where I think your thinking is flawed. So many Bills fans are satisfied with great regular season records, AFC titles, and playoff appearances only to lose early. Of course it's better than the past decades of Bills failures. No one is denying that. However, I don't think it's unreasonable for Bills fans to expect and want more. Like a Super Bowl appearence and a Lombardi Trophy. You have arguably the top 3 QB in the league with some very nice weapons on both sides of the ball. Imho, it's a realistic that the Bills should be advancing further. Past decades of failure really shouldn't be used to justify or lower fans expectations and results of the current team. Sadly, I think too many Bills fans have this mindset.
  6. It would be great if he started to really peak come playoff time.
  7. I think the clear goal of the team is to make a Super Bowl appearence and win it all. It certainly is a realistic goal. Wouldn't you agree? I think the Bills players and organization absolutely believe they could win it all. They have fell short for several years. Wouldn't you agree? Now fast forward and I think its a time for Buffalo to step up and proceed further. Super Bowl appearence would be a step forward. Obviously, hoisting the Lombardi too. Has the team progressed to where good regular season records, AFC titles, and early playoffs exits is enough? Serious question here? How fair it that to the organization and players? The old saying "Super Bowl or bust" seems to apply this team. Perhaps unfair but is it? Is this the new reality of the team and it's fans expectations? At what point does the top brass evaluate the coaches and GM if they continue to fall short come playoff time? Will you or the ownership continue to be satisfied with the current status quo? I firmly believe McD deserves another season or more to get it done. I have my doubts he can. The last two playoff exits surely seem to suggest this. As a fan, I don't think I can get in McD corner if the team doesn't march further in the playoffs. Of course, variables such as injuries can alter that point of view.
  8. Agree but at some point the team has to go further. The last few playoff appearances have been pretty disappointing. Wouldn't you agree?
  9. It would be awesome if he can step in and be a solid contributor. I really didn't see that happening so fast.
  10. $75 does seem a bit steep. Direct TVs pricing is really expensive because of the add on fees. Boxes, insurance, taxes, and hi def fee to name a few. The good thing is the convience and ease of using their system. Also, I was always able to get the NFL ticket free or $99 for years. With YouTube TV there is no negotiations that I know of. The price is the price. YouTube TV is pretty easy to get used too. I was a bit apprehensive. Saving some extra cash is never a bad thing.
  11. Saying Beane is better than Polian is pretty bold. Polian has four straight super bowl appearances while Beane built teams have fallen short in multiple playoff games since his tenure. Simply put his teams weren't good enough. Now, if the Bills can win a Super Bowl then I think it's a different conversation. Gotta win one though.
  12. I think you are undermining Polian's contribution in 1985. It's widely accepted that he gets credit for Kelly, Smith, and Reed additions.
  13. Polian was responsible for landing Jim Kelly a hall a fame QB. He drafted Bruce Smith and Andre Reed two hall of famers. Also, got Kent Hall from the USFL. Made a monster trade to get Cornelius Bennet. That's just a few examples... His team's went to four straight super bowls. You can't be serious... No way!
  14. The point is that it's the Chiefs who happen to be defending champs.
  15. Beane has failed to solidify both sides of the lines. The oline has been problematic for years now. Giving Beane props this year almost seems too little too late. Besides do we really know if this moves will produce positive results? The Dline looks really thin and Beane's misses are glaring. Relaying on a aging Von Miller coming off a serious injury doesn't exude confidence. Bottom line is Beane didn't do enough when Allen was on his rookie contract. That was the optimal time to thrive and upgrade the trenches and offensive weapons. KC did it, Cinci did it, Philly did it, Jags did it, Miami did it, etc...Beane didn't do it. No one seems to get this point. Will Dhop help Buffalo? Absolutely! Is he the missing piece? Who knows? I agree and they are pretty thin at WR too. The Chiefs make the most sense. Dhop in a Chiefs uniform makes them instantly better. That's pretty daunting...
  16. I've been extremely harsh on McD. I really don't think he will lead this team to the Super Bowl. Hopefully, I'm wrong. The 22 ranking is pretty absurd. No way does he belong in the bottom tier category.
  17. Can't wait to see the McD defense. Just find it a little disingenuous that you talk about having a rookie OC and a DC that was a big mistake. Yet, the coach who obviously gives his blessings to the OC and DC is standing tall with little blemishes.
  18. I think that's why this year should tell us a lot about the direction of the team and it's coaching staff. McD taking over the D puts him front and center for praise or criticism. That's a good thing. We will see if Miami and NYJ have closed the gap or surpassed the Bills. Certainly, the favorite Bills team is being hotly pursued. Lots of question marks on OC Dorsey. Sadly, a team making a Super Bowl run shouldn't have OC concerns. Not the optimal situation the Bills management put themselves in. This season is certainly a pivotal one for the Bills. Another failed playoff loss or early will certainly open up the door for serious discussion. Sometimes change is painful but meaningful. Sometimes change is premature with poor results. No easy answer...
  19. Shanahan with Allen as his QB would be a slam dunk for a Lombardi Trophy. Shanahan is by far a better coach than McD. Of course, it's subjective but I doubt many pundits would disagree.
  20. Agree. It's hard for me to have a high level of confidence in McD after several years of colossal failure. The best chance will be if Allen plays Superman and wins despite the coaching staff. Tough to do against top notch teams. For me, it's hard to see the Bills coaching staff as being an assest and or better than whoever the opposition coaching staff will be. Josh definetly takes a backseat to Burrow after last year's playoff game. There really isn't any other way to see it.
  21. I hear you. Lots of validity in your post. However, I feel like McD has been out coached by a large margin in many recent playoff games. In fact, he got severely out coached in the home playoff win vs Miami. Throughout his whole Bills tenure the Bills have fallen mostly short in their playoff bid to the road to the Super Bowl. I guess everyone's threshold to judgement differs. He's had years to right the ship only to fall flat. I can't help but think that the Bills should have a least made a Super Bowl appearence by now. Perhaps, I'm wrong here. The lack of succeeding has to be displaced on the coaching staff which largely includes McD. Perhaps, I'm wrong here...
  22. I think he's a great team builder. Very good at making steps in the right direction for a mediocre team. Come playoff time against the big boys his flaws are clearly exposed and evident. Think Marty S as can example.
  23. I firmly believe McD will lose Diggs if the Bills fail to meet expectations. I don't think anyone questions McD's ability to build a nice culture and attitude in the locker room. However, this only gets you so far. I'd ask you to look at both sides of the lines. In the trenches sort of speak. Where is the nastiness, toughness, chippy play, and bad was attitude? I haven't seen it in the McD era. Have you? Clapping only gets you so far. The question was rhetorical. Look up the definition if you don't understand it. My point was it was a mistake to hire an inexperienced Dorsey especially when the Bills were making a legitimate run for the Lombardi. Feel free to disagree.
