I was disappointed in that signing.

If we are set at TE, why were the Bills considering Gronkowski? I do like Knox. Great character, and I agree that he showed improvement down the stretch. I'm hungry to beat KC..... Bills need a superbowl and any improvement would be welcome. https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2022/3/3/22960465/bills-interested-in-adding-rob-gronkowski-per-report

Nicely stated. THANK-YOU!

Draft can't come soon enough.
-
Appreciated. Would rather chat with fans with more than one brain cell....
-
Speed at WR would be nice for sure, but since we have 3 picks in the top 3 rounds, I'd prefer a dominant TE, and dominant RB. if I had to make that choice between a WR and those two options.
-
One thing I've noticed about some bills fans on this board is that you have rose coloured glasses on on some topics. Do you disagree that the OL needs a few key pieces? Cornerback? A dominant runningback? Weren't you jealous of KC's Kelce? That's basically what my thread was all about and the "needs" low on the list are negligible. I disagree we need a top 3 round WR example.... Man some of you are dense....
-
Jesus people! I'm not saying these are massive holes! Lower in the list = maybe worth a 6th or 7th rounder! Let's just skip the draft! This is about adding pieces to the roster. Maybe TWO of this draft class would actually start.... So you're happy with Knox.... okay.
-
Guys..... Chill! lol I'm not saying that the whole roster needs to be blown up. The positions at the bottom of that list are the positions that I feel are very MINOR needs. For example, while many here (even me last week....) are hoping for a high pick on a WR, I've changed my mind on that, and feel that a late rounder OR NOT AT ALL would suffice. I think that ideally the first three rounds should be spent on: O-Line: OG and/or OC TE RB CB Obviously there are only 3 picks..... so out of those 5 options, we'd get 3.... Do I really have to spell this out so literally? Let's be nice..... WR is very strong compared to OL (for example....). If we TRADE UP, we have maybe 5 picks in this draft. I'm hoping for OL, CB, RB, TE as early options.
-
Yeah but he's a linebacker. You'll see him up on the line and also back. Depends on the alignment, matchups etc. I agree with you though on the premise that he adds a pass rush element lost by a key departure. We may skip DE in this draft because of that point. We'll see!

Hey folks, I might be an outlier here, but my mind has changed a few times in the lead up to the draft. After we've added a few key pieces to our roster, and lost a few others, I'm starting to think that our draft needs have shifted.... surprisingly in my opinion to OFFENSE moreso than defense. Hear me out. Positional groups needs I think are in the following order of "need". While I DO understand that some positions are more noticeable if the team is weaker at that position (like QB, Cornerback), here are our positional grouping needs in order of weakest to strongest. Center: I feel that Center has been the most sneaky need this team has, and feel that the position MUST be upgraded in the early rounds, without question. Not only do we lack depth but Morse needs and upgrade as the starter. Tight End: We have one of the best QB's in the league but completely lack the TE option on this team. In KC, Kelce is such a threat that their WR's look that much better since safeties can't double cover or drop too deep for support. I'd say a second rounder on TE is a serious option for the upcoming draft. Guard: Part of the reason we haven't had a great running game is due to the lack of a dominant, run-blocking front. While I feel that our runningbacks in their own right don't exactly instill fear in opposing defenses, an upgrade at ONE guard spot could help in this regard. Hoping for a balanced target, but one that has a nasty streak that can can create some inside lanes. It MIGHT even help Moss elevate his game. Runningback: We suck. Sorry but we do. I used to be a big Tomlinson fan and have been longing to see a DOMINANT run game from the Bills. Having the THUNDER to go with Allen's lightning would have a domino effect of helping out Diggs/Davis on the outside. Stack the box? Well that would help our NEW TE, as well as our WRs. Defensive End: Yes, I know I'm an outlier here, but IF we don't bring back Hughes, I feel that's a bigger loss than some on this board feel. Boogie, Epensa, Addison, Lawson are all playing at a backup level (on this playoff caliber team). Cornerback: This is where I have cornerback, but it likely bumps up to somewhere near the top because, like I mentioned, corner is one of those positions where you've GOT to have quality starters or the whole game will unravel. I think we need not one, but two additions. I think that Taron Johnson might be the only corner I feel somewhat happy with. Siran Neal should NOT start. Offensive Tackle: Could use an upgrade, and if we go OT, it would be a good idea. HOWEVER, if there are "equal quality" players on the board with any of the above positions, you have to go with another player. Linebacker: NOT a fan of our depth, but Von Miller changed the whole story here. If Edmunds turns it around, this could be a very good group. Thumbs down to Milano. FINAL ON MY LIST is WR: It used to be higher, and I DO think we should draft a WR outside of the first 3 rounds UNLESS some amazing wideout slips to us. I like our top 2 WR, and Crowder in the slot. Can we do better than Crowder? Yes, BUT again, I'd rather add a dominant TE and/or RB..... and/or an upgrade(s) to our OL. Okay............ let me have it. Be gentle. lol Forgot to mention: S and QB not a draft need right now.

Bills have almost $10 million in cap space available
Yantha replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall
Except against KC in the playoffs, which is what counts! The Bills were "unstoppable" in that game. Very exciting!!! ....and then the defense failed. I'd say LINEBACKER was the biggest issue there. They are slow, and can't cover Kelce if their life depended on it. I just looked at PFF and they are the weakest... Rosseau is excellent, but the rest you mentioned are average at best. I think that Hughes is a big loss that would need to be filled. Von Miller is a linebacker, not a DE. I guess in a 3-4, he'd be an OLB but not a true DE. -
Boom or bust? Time will tell... That's a multimillion dollar gable right there.

My vote goes to bringing back Jerry Hughes.... I know it's not flashy, but he's still playing at a high level IMO and it brings continuity to a DL that has undergone some change. It also eliminates DE from our draft needs. 1 year rental (or even 2 year "final contract") -
The Bills should hire you as a scenario consultant. Wondering if you post a BIG BOARD closer to the draft date.

Does anyone know how much $$$$ is needed in the coffers for rookie signings? -
ScorpionZero. How many mocks are you going to post? LOL Maybe keep a few to yourself? Love your last mock though. Would love if that were our result. Just not big on Haskins. Seems slow on the field. Lacks acceleration to hit the hole.

Wow thanks for your responses. I have a few takeaways here from what "we're" saying. 1. Beane has a tendency to move up for players he covets. 2. Cornerback is arguably the most likely move to go up and get a player, and SAUCE might be the only one worth the cost of such a move. Question is whether Sauce can find himself closer to the bottom of the top 10 or a bit further down (crazier things have happened). Personally I don't like where we are at 25 and see a bit of a GAP in talent at that spot. I'm hoping a top 20 talent slips to 25, but would be happy to just get up there and get an instant differencemaker. I do have a feeling that Andrew Booth will be there at 25, he he'll be our pick. I hope not though..... A bit of a boom or bust player IMO.

Hello Bills Fans, First off, my apologies if this has been discussed in another draft thread, but when looking through, I could not find it. For the first time in a WHILE, I feel like the Bills have less holes than "usual" to fill, and with last season's playoff showing, I am very excited to see where this team can go in the upcoming season. Yes, there are some clear needs and we have discussed what positions to go for in the first round. I'm usually a STICK AND PICK strategist with the draft, but this year we can afford to spend one or more draft picks to MOVE UP and get an impact player. Are there any below that are worth it? I've seen in our discussions: Corner Linebacker Wide Receiver D-line O-line So what I'd like to discuss here... is if there are any TOP 10 Talents (or TOP 20) that WILL NOT be available at #25 (or at least unlikely) even in the best hopeful scenario..... that we could consider moving up for, what draft capital that move would cost, and if it would be in the best interests of the team to make such a move. To consider: TOP 10 -Is there a top 10 Cornerback that would be an instant impact player? Stingley? McDuffy? Gardner? -Is there a top 10 WR that could justify such a move? I'm thinking NO...... -Is there a top 10 Linebacker? I'm thinking NO.... -How about DL? Hutch? Thibodeaux? Karlaftis? I'm thinking maybe... -O-line? There are quite a few top 10 OT's on that list. Is Left Tackle worth such a move? To consider: TOP 20 (a less drastic move). Is there any ONE player that can be that much of a difference maker compared to the 20-30 ranked range? 11. If LB Devin Lloyd is available at Pick 25......
Yantha replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
Devin Lloyd? Yes please, even if there are long term plans for Tremaine. Tremaine needs a huge season this year in order for CONSIDERATION of a large extension. If he falls flat, he's out. Pretty simple! In any case, I'd be extremely happy to see Devin in Buffalo. Just thinking about that KC game, I'd love to see a more stout defense...... And Kelce is one heck of a TE. We need to counter that. -
I'd take a good rookie too. Just that they are hard to find. I really wish we addressed this in FA.

Am I the only one who hasn't completely given up on Zack Moss?
Yantha replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
I find it interesting that we're talking about Moss' vision. I think that he's never had it so why would he now? His main college attributes were his straight forward, bruising style that really needs a bit more of a hole from his O-linemen to have any effect. If he can't get to level2, he's toast. This is the reason I thought the draft pick was wasted on him. BUT I still hope to eat crow on those words... It's not like he's a first round draft bust, so I'm good with his role as a backup RB. Let's not be too hard on him. He never was meant to be a feature back right? -

Yantha replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Here's hoping Moss becomes what the team envisioned him to be. Personally, I remember being rather unhappy with the pick, preferring others on my "BIG BOARD" over him. But what do I know.... My stand on this is that we need a starting RB who will instill fear in opposing defenses. To date, Moss isn't that guy, but I also wonder if Moss would do better with a more run-heavy scheme and with an upgrade to our OL. As a team on the brink of a superbowl run..... I'm not comfortable with wait and see. If we can snag Kenneth Walker III, it improves our CHANCES of having a dominant run game. Just imagine having a dominant RB. It would give defensive coordinators fits with Allen's ability to get the ball downfield. Stack the box? Um.... Thank you very much!
