It reads a little different when you learn the penalty it was called back for was OPI. Hopefully that's something they can coach Coleman up about how to be subtle about it

Interesting question. The Bills in recent years have kept 3, with Reggie Gilliam as the fullback/emergency TE/ST ace. With all the losses in key ST personnel and all the running Brady seems to want, I didn't see that changing, but Morris may need to raise his game.

Yeah, Beane has been on some kind of weird Circle of Life pilgrimage from "trade for Kelvin Benjamin, we need that big-bodied guy with a strong catch radius" to "just bring in guys who run routes and can catch, I don't care if they're all smurfs" to "OK, OK, maybe they need some size, but route running and hands more important" to "*****, the refs hold the laundry in the playoffs and our guys just get mugged, we need that big-bodied guy with a strong catch radius"

Sounds as though a battle for #3 TE may quietly be shaping.

I kind of think Banged Up Bills may be more realistic: Trimble is usually not shy about looking at a play and predicting what the injury actually is, so if he says "could be anything" it's probable it....could be anything

No wrap and no brace!!!!!!

"Foot Prisons" Ajay. Try to keep up, they're called "Foot Prisons" per Hollins

Who plays? Josh Allen beating Kincaid, Knox, and Brown: I'd take 'em. But they need the expansion pack.

Depends upon what type of shoulder injury it is. He should be able to do walk-throughs and keep learning the system I guess?

Seems like a good place to put this: https://www.thedailynewsonline.com/sports/ajays-analysis-weighing-injury-concerns-within-safety-room/article_7a782f48-4f50-11ef-aca6-570eb1bcb214.html

I understand your point and it has validity. A counterpoint is, while you're correct that targets come from QBs, targets require receivers who get open on time thus allowing the QB to target them. So receivers do impact targets. A possible example of this is, with Josh Allen, if he doesn't see a receiver he can target, he will run. We know that the offense switched from a predominantly pass offense under Dorsey, to a predominantly rush offense under Brady. We know that part of that was an increase in Allen running: Allen averaged 4.8 rush attempts per game the first 10 weeks of the season under Dorsey as OC, and 9.1 rush attempts per game. That's an extra 4.3 rush attempts per game or 73 rush attempts over the course of a season. How many of those increased rush attempts by Allen reflect coverage situations where no one was open in the correct time window of the reads? That's harder to quantitate from publicly available data, but hopefully you see my point. Targets are impacted by coverage, and how well the receivers release and run routes and make themselves available to be targeted.

I'm really starting to love this WR room. We quietly got better

Beane was thinking that Harty, based on his 2021 NOR season, was an upgrade to McKenzie. Which, the 2021 version of Harty looked to be. But the guy looked slower than molasses and I don't think Dorsey understood how to use him effectively (either of them, actually). Sherfield was supposed to be the upgrade replacement for Kumerow, an ST guy who can play receiver in a pinch. On ST, Check. As a receiver, due to whatever was going on with Diggs, he turned out to be a Big Pinch, location of pinch left as an exercise for the reader. Harty may not have recovered from the foot injury that kept him out of 2022 - he did NOT look fast. Sherfield did what he was signed to do on ST and as a blocking WR, but he was asked to fill a different role in B'lo than Miami, where he was #3 behind #1A Hill and #1B Waddle. The Bills asked him to substitute for Diggs. News flash, he couldn't. I mean....clearly Beane thought the same thing about Harty vs Lil' Dirty, and he makes the Big Bucks to do those evaluations, so I don't think you should fault yourself much. I didn't think Sherfield was going to take playing time from Gabe - and I don't think Beane did either - but I believe Beane thought as a backup WR, he'd be an upgrade to Kumerow etc., and that didn't work out. FWIW I thought the same, because based on film available from 2021 it looked that way for Harty, and looked like Sherfield could actually play as a low-level starter. Bad takes for 2, please. -

Really? O'Sullivan was kind of the Nathan Peterman of his time, as best I can tell - "Catnip for Coaches", the Whiteboard/Film Room wizard whose brain wrote checks his arm couldn't cash on Sunday. He managed something like 8 seasons in the league, plus a couple more on practice squads, NFL Europe, etc. Even at lower salaries, he must have gone home with a few million dollars which I'm sure got invested decently, being a PhD. And didn't he work as a coach somewhere before starting his Jordan Palmer-like QB School digital coaching platform? Doubt he needs to be making Youtube videos for fans.
