  1. What must two Alabama alums say when they meet each other?
  2. What color is Alabama's mascot?
  3. I think we need to make the point that in 2019, Mahomes was not "running the show". He was the QB. And Mahomes was drafted in 2017, not 2018. And in 2018 (Mahomes first year playing) the Chiefs lost in the Division round. Also you said "failed at every Superbowl opportunity", Reid had one (1) previous superbowl opportunity in 19 years before Mahomes. I'm gonna ignore the rest of your post because why go there, but the part I left makes a very valid point: the very year before Mahomes started, in 2017, Reid and the Chiefs had a very successful NFL offense. #1 in rush Y/A, #6 in NY/A passing, #2 in INT. And the Chiefs lost in the WC round , and Tony Dungy (who might know a thing about coaching football) said on national TV that "the chiefs might win a Superbowl, but not with Andy Reid as their coach". That's how Reid was seen - as a successful regular season coach that couldn't get his teams "over the hump" in the off-season. Until he could. And Mahomes has undoubtedly been the difference maker. But in Mahomes first season playing, he was supported by a proven successful offense with the whole deal - strong OL, strong run game (#6 for Y/A), top TE and top RAC WR
  4. That's hysterical. So Jim Kelly's face is tougher than Harbaugh's hand.
  5. I can't find it now, but in one interview Beane talked about research they did before drafting a QB in 2018, about how QBs are handled and developed in the league. He said one of their conclusions was that far more QB with potential are ruined than are developed in the league, and as I recall he went into some detail about the reasons (I don't remember them all, but it included changes in OC or offensive system especially multiple changes in the first 3 years and so forth) It interested me at the time because the Bills did a number of things that Beane alluded to as poor developoment (poor WR corps and OL Josh's first year, lack of run game to support the passing game, lack of a veteran the rookie could sit behind to learn). But they also did a number of things right (keep the same OC and offensive system, support the QB and not have a QB controversy, etc).
  6. Arizona, Baltimore, and Houston say "Hi".
  7. No, I meant what I said: Rapp/Hamlin/Johnson is a significant step up from Bishop/Hamlin/Lewis right now. We hope that eventually, we see Rapp/Bishop/Johnson but that isn't where we are.
  8. I think we need to step away from the "underwear Olympics" and remember that playing time is not the same as 40 time. Josh Allen ran what, 4.76? Explain that he's really slow to all the defenders he evades on the field. It would be nice. But Bishop is (IMO) significantly behind the learning curve right now. So we'll see.
  9. Agreed there. I think the Bills shared your hope, that his knowledge of the game would improve and develop into an instinct that would let him shine. Nope. Point was, while I have sky-high hopes for Bishop, I think Rapp/Hamlin/Johnson is a significant step up from Bishop/Hamlin/Lewis right now
  10. Don't overlook that Taylor Rapp was out for 3/4 of the game as well. We saw that in 2022 with Hamlin - he was servicable when paired with Poyer, but when he was paired with Jaquan Johnson the quality of safety play plummeted Not that I'm saying Cole Bishop is Jaquan Johnson, but he's a rookie and still figuring things out. Put two safeties who are figuring things out together with a backup nickel and two backup LB and things get fugly fast.
  11. Shavers is on the practice squad. Your choices of WR on the team to "let walk" are Cooper, Coleman, Shakir, Samuel, and Hollins.
  12. Let's wait and see when Milano comes back and how Williams is playing.
  13. Yeah, sure Oakland "couldn't wait to get rid of him" - in a "make me move!" situation, Dallas offered Oakland a first round pick for him!!!! 2022, I don't think Dallas wanted to get rid of him, but his salary and expiring contract with $20M made sense for Dallas to trade Cooper to the Browns. They had CeeDee Lamb coming into his own on a rookie contract. Jerry was cheap and wanted the money. But because of the money, they only got a late round pick for him - a 5th or something, with a 6th back.
  14. I mean, they've played without their starting QB for the last 4 weeks. The canonical goal of backup QB play is to break even. Dolphins are 1-3
  15. It's not by design.
  16. Explain that to me, please, step by step. To draft BTJ, we would have had to trade up into the 19-22 range. We did not have a 3rd round pick.
  17. Why would McDermott be having a discussion about a game that happened 3 weeks ago, this morning when Brady (and McDermott/Babich) should be "all hands on deck" putting together a game plan for the SeaSnakes? That's not how the NFL works.
  18. His longer interactions were with backup WR Tyrell Shavers and with DBs.
  19. Did he hold himself accountable? How and when you see that?
  20. Schoen and Daboll remind me of some junior colleagues I knew at work who got the opportunity to take on lead responsibility. But they weren't all humble and hungry, they were swagging it with an "I Got This" attitude. And they stumbled. The worst thing that happened to Daboll was probably being named AP NFL Coach of the Year for 2022. I think it totally went to his head.
  21. I don't remember a "big blow up at the end of the game" - are you thinking of the Most Cursory Post Win Handshake Ever? I do remember that there seemed to be no love lost between Daboll and McD by the time Daboll left for the Giants, and there were intimations Daboll might have been willing to take a lateral move as OC somewhere else. I also remember that the reason was, Daboll persisted in having no run game except using a "back" named Allen. This caused friction with McDermott who finally started laying it out in press conferences, that we better have a run game. Overall, McDermott (as a defensive coordinator) had a point which was driven home during multiple games: if defensive coordinators know there is a significant gap in your team's offense, they will choke down on everything else. It makes their job easier. McDermott could not persuade Daboll of this.
  22. I was trying to refrain from saying this. Thank you for your service, Sir.
  23. Is it just me or did he pull up on that first one and favor his R leg?
  24. On Edwards, players do become ill, and there's no reason for a backup who is #4 on the depth chart to be in the locker room and on the sideline "sharing the loooove". But backups do have a place on the team, there's no sound reason to get rid of them. I expect Davis is active as "break glass in emergency" if Cook can't handle the load. Is it just me or does Cooper look Thick for a WR?
  25. He's definitely his own cat, but I hope he wears shoes. Bare paws and snow melt chemicals are not a good combo, we put Musher's Secret on our dog for walking in snow, but snow melt chemicals call for doggie boots.
