  1. They did NOT see that coming
  2. May I gently and respectfully suggest that, unless you naturally spend your day surfing around the internet, you may not have reasonable data about whether or not there's an uproar? Links shared to make the point that while folks have the right to be all *shrug* "meh" about it, it is legitimately a source of upset and anger for some people. These are the result of a brief Google search on 2 terms. So no, "the uproar" is not strongest here, and I don't think we can legit judge just how few or many people are really upset about it. https://athlonsports.com/nfl/kansas-city-chiefs/patrick-mahomes-brittany-mahomes-want-answers-alarming-bills-incident https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-14102243/taylor-swift-brittany-mahomes-consoled-kermit-frog.html https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/photo-buffalo-bills-fans-crossed-the-line-with-their-disgusting-use-of-patrick-mahomes-kermit-the-frog-doll-before-game-vs-chiefs/ar-AA1ufyh0?apiversion=v2&noservercache=1&domshim=1&renderwebcomponents=1&wcseo=1&batchservertelemetry=1&noservertelemetry=1 https://www.tmz.com/2024/11/17/bills-fans-hang-kermit-puppet-mahomes-jersey-chiefs-game/ https://www.theroot.com/black-twitter-responds-to-buffalo-bills-fans-lynching-a-1851701631
  3. Yeah, and I've seen videos of QBs being hit by our linebackers, too
  4. I think that's a fair point. But it's also a fair point that a team (and a GM's) ultimate success or failure depends not only on whether they land that elusive "Franchise Guy", but whether they are successful at putting a team around him, and especially after he 'gets paid".
  5. Now now. How is Kermit Mahomes being run over by a Buffalo THAT different than Patrick Mahomes being run over by Ed Oliver, DaQuan Jones, Greg Rousseau (x2), Dorian Williams, Terrel Bernard (x2), and Von Miller? A Bison has 4 legs, that's 16 legs. A plains bison weighs about 1600 lbs, those 6 guys together list at 1577. Just saying, Mahomes survived 'em
  6. I can't even imagine what Jenna would have to say.
  7. It means he was asked to position himself as they anticipate the opponent's safety will in different coverage looks and shift around pre-snap, so that the starting QB practices diagnosing the coverage and what his throw should be, based on the position of the safety. Otherwise the scout team may lack the personnel to position a safety and an inexperienced QB may fail to build in observing the safety when he's deciding where to go with the ball. There was a time in 2019 when there were clips of Josh taking handoffs in practice and asking the coach "is there a safety over there?". I think it was after that Davis Webb volunteered to play scout team safety (except he ran and made contact) Good point that if the team claims him, they claim the injury guarantee. I hadn't thought of that. But he still may not get the immediate opportunity to pick "a good team". SF would actually be a good landing spot. Giving some benefit of the doubt, I think the Giants were just asking him to help the team prepare. I don't think they thought about how it would look to NFL fans or that Jones would likely feel some way about it.
  8. He may not have that chance immediately - Mayfield had to Carolina then pay a visit to the Rams before he got a chance at Tampa Darnold also had to Carolina then pay a visit to SFO before he got a chance in Minn Geno Smith had to Giants and Charger then sit on the bench for 2 years in Seattle before he got his 2nd chance. If a team claims Jones off waivers, he's pretty much gotta go And sometimes it doesn't seem to work - see Trubisky, Mitch - he seems to be irrevocably broken
  9. I hate to be "that guy", but....source? Edit: n.mind https://www.giants.com/news/statement-from-giants-president-john-mara-on-daniel-jones
  10. It's my understanding after the trade deadline is passed, every player must go through waivers. If I'm wrong, I feel very confident that someone will correct me.
  11. According to multiple news articles, it is. Sources not given https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/daniel-jones-safety-giants-benched-qb-scout-team/82fdf92e5c5a3457512a5ad3 It should be noted that Davis Webb used to play scout team safety to help the Bills QB prepare for a game, and his willingness to help the team "however" was one of the things noted as one of the traits that made him so valuable to the Bills.
  12. That would actually be Sweet. Unlikely, but Sweet.
  13. He had 2 years of QB play that were adequate for an otherwise sound team to win with - his rookie season 2019 under Pat Shurmur/Mike Shula and 2022 under Daboll/Mike Kafka - but supported by a strong run game and before Daboll's ego swelled to a size sufficient to fill a small auditorium at STP with room left over for 2 but not 3 standard helium balloons to maintain full inflation. I say this based on a thing I did back in 2016 where I looked at what aspects of QB play were correlated with winning - completion %, TD/INT ratio, etc. Passing Y/G overall weren't, but there was a floor of passing yards that improved the correlation. And no, I don't know that's what happened to Daboll's ego but there are stories
  14. I did NOT see this coming. They take on $47M of dead cap for him.
  15. Funny how none of the analysts, including those who have been breaking down tape for decades like Cosell or have played QB in the NFL like Simms or Orlovsky, seem to think the defense "confused" Allen. Allen and Brady both said he had a check to a zone beater play; someone here pointed out Allen shifted the protections before the play, indicating he recognized the original called play wouldn't work with the D he saw, and made the decision to run. Allen could also have converted the 1st down and slid. Just how do you define "reality"? The reality is that this is the first game this season when Allen has run the ball 12 times. In fact, to this point in the season, Allen's rushes per game are a career low for him, 6.1 A/G - down from the career high 7.8 A/G he had under Dorsey in 2022 or the 7.3 he had under Daboll in 2021. He's also on-pace for a career low in QB pressures (on pace for 99, vs last year 126 or 184 in 2021), sacks ( on pace for 20, previous low last year, 24), and close to a career low of QB hits (on pace for 43, previous low 40).
  16. Your post, for reference: "There is absolutely no reason anyone should have to inconvenience themselves in order to adapt to the behavior of "South American crime syndicates" in this country." The point I think some are trying to make is, your post is meaningless, not rational. Sure - we shouldn't have to "inconvenience ourselves" to adapt to the behavior of any foreign crime syndicates. Everyone would agree with that. We shouldn't. But they're here, and they're impacting people, so what ya gonna do? The whole point of foreign crime syndicates is that the actual brains bankrolling the operation are - foreign. Off-shore. Not subject to arrest and sentencing by US Law Enforcement. You might catch and jail some of the stooges, but that's just cutting off a limb that is easily re-grown. Where did the stuff about "you can't just arrest violent criminals and sentence them to jail time. You also can't deport them if they're non criminals!" ? No one is arguing that that I've seen. Seems to me you're injecting your own hobby horses into the conversation. The whole point of this is that the criminals are targeting vacant properties of NFL stars and committing property crimes, theft - not violent crimes. There's also nothing about whether the actual thieves are citizens or not, just that the brains of the thing, planning the crimes and bankrolling the security jammers or whatever other high technology, are foreign crime syndicates.
  17. Yes, WEO, that's the point, we know real estate transactions are publicly discoverable, but almost all athletes own their property through an LLC Pretty sure you won't find Knox or Allen in that database
  18. You would have to ask the FBI what their "real proof" is. My guess is they'll tell you to go pound sand, but the FBI typically doesn't issue warnings without good reason As for bigoted, you'll have to explain that. Start with the definition: "obstinately or unreasonably attached to a belief, opinion, or faction, in particular prejudiced against or antagonistic toward a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular group." I don't think "South America" is a particular group. It's a geographical location, as far as I know.
  19. Probably need to consider that the Chiefs were also missing players on Sunday.
  20. I had the same thought. Though, a number of people on this board seem to know exactly where Josh's house is, so these things are discoverable, even if the house itself is owned by a corporation. Maybe they bought data from someone who hacked a database that has the athlete's home addresses - like IDK, maybe the NFL? NFLPA?
  21. Well, he got it there, but Nope. Steelers stuck in the narrow spot of the slot canyon, couldn't get through
  22. DangerRuss could have done something with 57 seconds and a time out I don't think this year's version has it in him.
