  1. Sacrilege! The Sacred Christmas Hymn "I want a Hippopotamus" is NOT to be messed with.
  2. Nothing is wrong with just watching, and I agree with you. But there is a point that if you're standing there trying to do your job and baking your brains in the hot Florida sun even during your time on the sideline, it would seem that it would be quite distracting as well. So since the Dolphins think that's just a fair home field advantage, I don't have a problem with the fans cleaning their own seats off by compacting the snow and placing it on the sidelines.
  3. Yes. (Snowballs were being thrown on the field in general, and Mike McDaniel got pissed off that Dolphins players were being hit with snowballs on the sideline, and asked the refs to penalize Buffalo if it kept happening) https://heavy.com/sports/buffalo-bills/mike-mcdaniel-dolphins-snowballs-reaction/ TBN did a good piece on the snowball thing, confirming that there's no provision for such a penalty on a team for fan conduct in the NFL rule book. The officials can stop play until safe conditions are restored, that's it.
  4. Fair I guess, though officially it's a maintenance of possession after 1D by penalty - but it certainly left the ball with the Dolphins when it shoulda been ours
  5. There were some aspects in which the Dolphins may have out-schemed and out-played the Bills - they broke a couple long plays on what looked like busted coverages or, the Bills played tendencies they saw on film and the Dolphins did a good job self-scouting and tricking the defense. And the Dolphins forced that turnover fair and square (only 1 turnover by the Bills not sure what you mean by 2 Q3 turnovers? the horrid penalty that gifted a 1D?) But the Bills ground out the yards and held onto the ball when they needed to, so that's outplaying when they needed to in my book. At the end of the day, the Bills made significant mistakes, and they still won. PS I guess 5 receptions for 60 yds is kind of shutting down Diggs, but it sort of doesn't count when it means you leave the TE open for 98 yds and 9 different receivers have catches
  6. You sound very definitive on this point - ALL CAPS Morse missed the entire Detroit game. I believe Bates played C and Van Roten G, but either way, Morse was out. He's definitely one of our best OLmen and we'll miss him, but as far as PROBLEMS ALL GAME LONG, would you care to comment on the PROBLEMS you saw in the Detroit game where the Bills gained 163 yds on the ground and 253 yds passing, and explain how you feel they'll translate against the Bears? Josh did have 1 fumble (on a scramble) and 1 INT (on a deflected pass, I believe). No problems on the C-Q exchange. Given your screen name, your apparent conviction that the "next man up" can not in fact do a credible job appears a bit ironic.
  7. Pretty sure, but not positive, that's not quite correct. Morse has missed 2 games entirely (1st Miami game and Detroit game) and parts of 2 others (Tennessee, Pittsburgh, and part of 2nd Miami). Two of those games were 4th Q starter pulls - entire 4Q vs Tennessee and most of 4Q vs Pittsburgh, but Morse missed more of the game due to the injury that kept him out of Miami. I believe vs. Tennessee, Van Roten took over for Morse at Center white Bates stayed at guard, and the results were not pretty. Bates missed almost half the first Miami game himself (47% of the snaps) and Morse was out going into the game, which is why you saw a lot of Van Roten at center. I don't remember if Van Roten played at C going into the game, but for half the game there was no choice. 2nd Miami game, Bates was out going into the game, which is why you saw Van Roten at center. Pretty sure vs. Detroit, the other game Morse missed, when Bates was available, he played C and Van Roten guard. I think that's the Bills preference, when both are available.
  8. I understand where you're coming from, but some counter points: -1182 of the Bills rush yards are from ball carriers other than Allen, and clearly the OL is involved in those -I can not find stats on how many of Josh's rush yards are designed QB runs, but it's not inconsiderable; contrary to what some think, he has not gained 706 rush yards entirely on broken play scrambles. The OL blocks and breaks him lose on a number of them, or at least draws the defense off in another direction. -On a number of key throws in games, Allen has had superb protection -On watching all-22 film, it can be seen that on a number of passing plays where Allen extends and buys time, he had an option (or more than one option) underneath that would have gotten the ball out while the OL protection still held -When Allen does extend plays or scramble, the OL continues to block for him, adjusting to where he has moved. I believe @BarleyNY critiqued this stat and had a better source, but pro-football-reference gives the Bills the 6th most "pocket time" in the league at 2.5 seconds. They define Pocket Time as "average time the QB had in the pocket between the snap and throwing the ball or pressure collapses the pocket, in seconds" Football is, and will always be, a team game. Allen is a special player, and regularly makes plays only 1 or 2 other guys can, but there is just no way Allen (or any footballer) creates an entire winning gamefull of plays all on his lonesome without help from the OL.
  9. He's Right, you know: https://www.bostonglobe.com/2022/12/22/sports/mac-jones-other-patriots-have-shown-surprising-lack-respect-their-coaches/
  10. Edelman: Oooh, Burrrrrn I mean, at some point in his life, Jones has to have learned to tackle. And in this case, he didn't need to stick it, he just needed to hang on and slow Jones up enough to send the game to OT
  11. McDermott said they wanted to do a walkthrough, and they would do it in a hotel ballroom if no other space were available.
  12. Al Michaels declaiming “Perfect” when the Jets get pinned on the 1; at least pretend to be a little objective and want a bit of a game here.
  13. Now can the Jets D finally get a stop here
  14. Jets D hasn’t recovered. Still can’t tackle Not impressed by the Jets D failing to adjust, set the edge and contain Lawrence
  15. I so badly want to see the Jets win now and FItzpatrick interview Streveler after the game. Please, football gods, Please Please
  16. I think at this point Prime just wants to see a game
  17. At least the Jets D got a little breather
  18. Streveler comes over to try to push the back forward LOL
  19. Pass was perfectly thrown, just dropped
  20. My Goodness! Puts his shoulder down. Bam! Jags D responds “not this down, Fella”
  21. Jets offensive demeanor completely different Pretty ticky tack holding call IMO
  22. Gifted them 2 picks and a missed FG. “Only Josh Allen can beat the Bills” Hamlin and Johnson at safety and Terrel Bernard at LB strong contributing factors Also, Zack Wilson had not been irretrievably broken at that point. That happened the following week vs. NE. The Hoodie is still in the business of crunching up young Jets QBs and stealing their souls
  23. I can’t entirely blame Wilson when his whole OL is getting shoved back into his lap like that, but why didn’t he take the open guy who was right there and could probably have gotten 10-12 yds, make it more manageable 3rd down, don’t just throw a prayer up there
