To me, this is (pardon my language) the Tom Brady excuse. Every other QB seeks out the opposing QB after a loss and shakes his hand and exchanges a word or two. Tom Brady apparently hates losing so much more than everyone else and is such a passionate competitor that he simply can't bring himself to do this after a loss (leading to Fitzpatrick running after him and making him shake once after he won LOL) The whole team is super-frustrated. Knox? etc. But they understand that part of being a teammate is being there for your guys, and part of being an NFL player is meeting with the media. "Allen struggles processing those" is a puzzling take to me. Last season, Allen seemed to be pretty good at reading zone and finding his answers. It seems to me that if he's struggling now, there must be something to be said for the concept that this year, there aren't as many answers to be found. Last season we had Beasley and Sanders, who both could pick apart zone, and we seemed able to protect enough to have Knox out on the field instead of releasing after he chips.

So tell me: which games, and who on the DL was playing? Because I do think Daquon is a key player, but he isn't "the dline" either. Please keep in mind that Florio is in the business of generating clicks, and says all kinds of things, many of which do not prove out over time.

Yeah, we're pretty much aligned. That's pretty much where I am. We don't want him to be OK with losing, or OK with play that's not up to their standard. But he's a Captain, and wants to present himself as a leader on the team. He can be not-OK with losing and not-OK with play that's not up to their standard while being there in the locker room and there for his teammates, and dealing with any of his issues in house.

I think you want to have a line that can taking the field (even if you want to improve it) before hitting FA then the draft. IMHO Boettger coming off an injury should be pretty cheap, though with him being inactive I don't know how they see him. I don't remember Lee Smith being a "whipping boy" here?

You know I watch Kittle for SF, Kelce for KC, and even Goeddert for Philly and it's increasingly difficult for me to roll that way. Yeah, if we can't get an OL that can protect better at least get a Lee Smith type TE2 who is a mauler in pass pro and Free Knox

You know, it all depends. Time was when this was said about Houston. We'll see. A lot of their secondary are FA, including both safeties Jessie Bates and Von Bell; CB Tre Flowers, and Eli Apple (heh). Their MLB Germaine Pratt. TE Hayden Hurst. Then they need to start working on a long-term contract for Joe Burrow. DJ Reader and their LT Jonah Williams are FA in 2024; Trey Hendrickson and Joe Mixon in 2025. If the Bengals put on a good showing in the AFCCG, smart teams will be trying to hire Lou Anarumo as their HC. Brian Callahan (their OC) is already interviewing for the Colts HC position. QB coach Dan Pitcher has been mentioned as a strong candidate for the Chargers open OC position. Yes, they look like they're in a good situation right now, and probably for next year, but a lot of things can happen.

I think it's time to move on from Taiwan Jones, Jake Kumerow, Tommy Sweeney, most of the OL guys, Jaquan Johnson, and Dean Marlowe. Need upgrades there.
