Josh Britt unverified Breakup rumour
Beck Water replied to loveorhatembillsfan4life's topic in Off the Wall
I was open for it, fair bust Though speaking of bust - and I'm 100% NOT "what you see on social media is what a person is", but still - if I had a daughter who just broke up with the famous and wealthy athlete she's been "living the glamorous life" with for 6 years since she graduated college - I would want her to work on building her own independent life right now, not doing stuff that looks like advertising for her next dose of sugar. Build her Pilates studio, get a job, pursue an advanced degree, spend 6 months on a church mission trip in Guyana, Whatever - just figure out who she is and what she wants to do on her own. -

Nah. I just use Google. "Instagram Rachel Bush" will do it. I was curious before last season when folks posted some tweets of hers that were pretty much threatening to put the team on "blast" if they didn't negotiate Poyer's contract Right Now (fortunately saner heads prevailed) I used to follow a lot of players and their WAG on Instagram though, so I know what to search for. (I gave it up and deleted my accounts early in the Panini) To be fair, from what was posted elsewhere that was evidently a friend's caption (Google), not hers. But still, along with the "Girls" post, Major Cringe. -

Pretty sure the guy next to Eric Wood is Assistant GM Brian Gaine No clue on the guy to Beane's R or the guy next to Allen -

Meaning no criticism because I don't think she tried that hard to build an Instagram following, but would you call her an Instagram star? Rachel Bush is an Instagram star. She's got 4.1M followers. Brittany Williams has 174,000 followers, about 20% of Josh Allen's 1M followers. Allen posts very little on Instagram Would you call that "star"? Asking honestly, I'm not that "up" on the whole social media thing. Obviously I'd agree about the coattails and guess that most of the 174,000 followers she has are looking for little glimpses of Allen's home life and will slide off now that they've split. I mean, their dog has like 14,000 followers. -

"The Gentleman's Playbook" is the business name of a custom menswear designer named Tom Marchitelli. Functionally, I think he IS a haberdasher. Also apparently charges $3000-$5000 + per suit, probably charged more for these since they were 2 week rush jobs Perhaps now that Josh isn't paying for his GF's designer wardrobe he feels he can spend a bit more on himself -

LOL like it better in this pic Also like the green suit better in this pic Well, he did win the "Iron Bills" trophy from Eric Ciano - I'm not sure exactly what it's for, something about best off season fitness program by some metric. -
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to put you on the defensive. And it's becoming so common I don't know if it's something worthwhile asking folks to look out for To me there are 3 clues: 1) news organization I've never heard of, "bolavip US" 2) non-idiomatic English 3) all the information provided references other sources I don't like to see "a bird trying to fly on another bird's wings" so I'll look for the original source vs propagating what I see as a copycatter This could entirely be a "me problem" though, so please don't feel you must defend yourself, it's not my intention to attack or criticize you - just to point out what I think is going on, that may hurt the journalists who actually dig up information and attend press conferences and break stories.

Are the Bills committed to Ed Oliver in 2023?
Beck Water replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's fully guaranteed, so they ain't gonna cut Big Ed. It'd be tough to get full value on a trade, because it's a 1 yr rental on a big contract. So my feeling is yeah, they're fully committed for 2023 because they'll get more if they use him for a year and then manage a comp pick if they don't want to extend him. -

TBN article about the fashion designer responsible for this https://buffalonews.com/sports/bills/designer-tom-marchitelli-josh-allen-kentucky-derby-suits-viral/article_d12a2e9a-ec69-11ed-864f-4be63f274610.html Apparently he makes suits for Jordan Poyer among others. So maybe we'll be seeing Josh changing up his style this fall. -
Isaiah Simmons might be an answer for the Bills at MLB
Beck Water replied to gjv's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hmmmm. Uncertain, but a valid and plausible response. -
I don't think this is correct. Allen has missed game time for 2 injuries: 1) UCL injury as rookie in 2018 - helmet to elbow in pocket. Missed 4 games 2) concussion due to hit while running - Sept 2019. out for the game. did not miss more than 1 game, but that may be luck So of the game-time-lost injury, 1 was in pocket, 1 was outside pocket. 50-50. Allen has had other injuries but has not missed game time: 1) UCL tear 2022. No missed time but admitted after season it was a tear and it affected his throwing motion. Hit was in pocket 2) Turf toe 2021. While running 3) Knee injury 2020. While running; corkscrewed into the ground by Joey Bosa while trying to evade a tackle outside pocket. 4) "shoulder injury" 2020 trying to throw while being tackled vs. Raiders; outside pocket, trying to extend play. No time missed but quality of his play declined for about 4 weeks, and he was seen wearing a "linebacker brace" then tape on his shoulder. I believe that would be 3 injuries outside the pocket (75%), 1 injury inside the pocket; if you want to go by "while running vs while throwing", again 50-50. Fortunately he didn't miss time for these injuries but his abilities as a QB were impacted by at least 2 of them. Our new WR Harty missed most of last season with a turf toe so those can be serious, and there's an element of luck that the knee injury was minor In addition, a character in a book I like has a quote "no one told me my body would add up all the injuries and bruises I took in my 20s and send me a bill in my 30s". It's not just the reported injuries or observed injuries that are of concern; it's all the contusions and bruises and strains and minor sprains that add up over time. To maintain his efficiency as a QB over a long season, Allen has got to be smarter about how he runs (Slide! Get out of bounds!) and how he extends plays. If nothing else, some of his worst strip-sacks leading to points for the other team have been the result of trying too hard to extend plays. Check it down, throw it away, live to play another down. That's sort of like Willie Sutton's alleged answer when he was asked why he robs banks, isn't it? "That's where the money is" The vast majority of QBs spend most of their time in the pocket. Anyway, I'm 100% with Gunnerbill on this: to reduce the wear and tear on Allen, he needs better protection first and foremost. Ba da BING, @Westside for the win Beane has been stockpiling guys with YAC potential. Throw the ball to them and let them earn their salt. And, while we're at it, run if you wanna run, Josh, just SLIDE. What is your evidence for this? Or, while we're at it, for the notion that Allen needs a half-second longer than Burrow or Mahomes?

Just a little point that this is an article that re-hashes other articles without new information. It's based on a 4-18 press conference with Allen https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/bills/2023/04/18/bills-qb-josh-allen-acknowledges-need-change-his-style-play/11688288002/ and Beane's 5-4 appearance on the Jim Rome show as quoted on Pro Football Talk https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/05/04/brandon-beane-glad-josh-allen-plans-to-be-a-little-bit-smarter-when-running-this-season/ What's my point, I suppose I don't really have one, but with a lot of news organizations laying off reporters and journalists who have worked hard in the industry for years, I guess I just want to say "be aware" if you're giving clicks to a site that might be parasiting off other folk's work. I dont' think it's plagiarism, they do identify the original sources of the info. But perhaps consider to give your clicks to the original journalists, or to local Buffalo journalists who actually attend the pressers etc. Well, also it's got some very peculiar English usage, as though it's written by someone who isn't proficient.

The Battle of a lifetime: Klein, Spector, Dodson, Bernard, Williams
Beck Water replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall
I Hear You. A more recent example was releasing Cole Beasley and believing some combo of Crowder, McKenzie, and/or 5th round pick Shakir could take his place. Crowder had played the role with the Jets, McKenzie had looked very good as an injury fill-in, so it should have worked OK. To be fair, the options got thinner when Crowder broke his leg. But, in this instance, the Bills appear to have allowed even more options: Klein, who played MLB in Carolina and filled-in here. Dodson, who has played MLB as a fill-in here. Last year's 3rd round pick Bernard. This year's 3rd round pick Williams. and late round pick Spector as the "dark horse". It's worth noting that McDermott managed to achieve #18 D on points in 2017 with Preston Brown (MLB), Ramon Humber, and Zo Alexander as his linebackers -

LOL. "Drink Until your Husband Looks Like Matt Milano" - Erik Turner's wife (and probably many others)

The Battle of a lifetime: Klein, Spector, Dodson, Bernard, Williams
Beck Water replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall
I mean seriously. See the "should we move Milano?" thread. Both Beane and McDermott have been asked that question and said "no, we like Milano as our matchup linebacker" and people come up with all kinds of notions why he really means something else and that's just "coachspeak" and blah blah. I think the long-term plan is Williams, but McDermott and Beane don't want to put too much pressure on him Nick Veronica wrote a pretty good piece where he captures and transcribes about everything Beane has had to say on the subject https://www.wivb.com/sports/buffalo-bills/bills-middle-linebacker-competition-bernard-dodson-spector-williams-klein/ Note: Veronica missed noting a game where Dodson didn't start at MLB, but played the majority of the snaps after Edmunds was injured. He had I believe 2 tackles in that game. My interpretation of this is Beane really wants to see Williams win the job,but also doesn't want to "set him up" to fail by expecting too much too quickly. Overall, this is one of the most careful assessments of the LB possibilities that I've seen, worth a read. My personal take on Dodson is that he played MLB very well against the run, but was "lost in space" vs. coverage. This is why he racked up a nice tally of "thumps" when playing against Pittsburgh and Cleveland, but not so much against the Vikes where he played 64% of the snaps. Now - he came in cold and likely did NOT see starter reps against the scout team that week, but that's my overall take on Dodson, he's become a solid run defender at MLB but he's not so good vs coverage. It's an air traffic control problem that's just kind of a mystery to him. It probably means something that against Detroit, Klein started ahead of Dodson at MLB after being back on the team only a week. I think they like Bernard's instincts and potential, but are disappointed with what they've seen so far (thus the decision to draft Williams). In his limited playing time when he got there he "played small" (as Cosell said) and didn't seal the deal. This isn't a size thing; Poyer, Hamlin, and Taron Johnson are smaller, but they "thump", when they tackle, the guy knows he's been hit. I recall Bernard just getting trucked. -
LOL try to keep up, Alpha, we've already learned that coachspeak doesn't matter and if their plan was to move Milano to MLB: 🙄😅
-
This isn't in any sense meant to argue with you since you would know better than I, but while it's clear in some ways not just the two LB but the nickel have interdependent and interchangeable roles in his D (Frazier has talked about this some in pressers), clearly McDermott and Beane both seem to conceptualize Milano and the MLB has having different roles. Beane referred to Milano as a "matchup linebacker" in his post FA presser where he answered the question whether the Bills would consider moving Milano to MLB. Any comment on that?

1) How do Virginia Tech and Tulane compare as far as level of competition/simplicity or complexity of defensive scheme? 2) Edmunds was a rookie in 2018. What was the Bills W-L record in 2018? 3) What were the Bills expectations for the season going into 2018 with Allen and Edmunds as rookies?
