Good enough, but who would that guy be? https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/ Sort by WR and pick your guy The Cold Hard Fiscal Facts seem to be that once you're paying a QB, a top WR, and a couple top OLman, you probably don't have the cap $$ to splurge on top talent in FA. It might be worth noting that as a FA signing for 1 yr/$6M, Sanders played 14 reg. season games and contributed 44.7 ypg, 5 targets and 3 receptions a game (58.3%). He had a high Y/R of 14.9 and 3 drops (4.2%). Gabe Davis played 15 reg season games and contributed 55.7 ypg, 6 targets and 3 receptions a game (51.6%). He had an even higher Y/R of 17.4 and 9 drops (9.7%). Obviously the drops are very concerning, but I don't think the low catch % was entirely on Davis And looked at as ROI, I'm not sure we got our money's worth for $6M from Sanders. I've said elsewhere that I'm skeptical about our 2nd biggest FA splurge, Deonte Harty, being a good use of money. Anyway have a look, I'm not sold on our signing of Deonte Harty, but I'm also not sold on the ROI per investment for a bunch of those FA. Who would you consider a good ROI and a better option at #2? Your last line though puzzles me. Last season, the Chiefs top receiver was a TE - Kelce of course. Who are the Chiefs "three good WR"? Tiktok Boy is decent. MVS has always been a bit of a disappointment IMHO. Who's the 3rd? And do you really see TikTok Boy as an $8M step-up on Davis?

Well, it's fine to be skeptical - I have my own skepticism - but what would you have preferred them to do?

Of course, you're correct that one can avoid Cowherd and other people one doesn't like hearing from, but it also seems entirely reasonable to listen to different viewpoints, including those one may disagree with. As far as "not wrong", I grade him "mixed". Cowherd may or may not be wrong in his dislike of defensive minded head coaches. Sirianni actually got his start as a DB coach. Mike Tomlin was a WR, but came up the coaching ranks as a defensive coach. Youngest HC to win a Superbowl in 2010. Harbaugh ST coordinator and DB coach before becoming Ravens HC and winning the 2012 Superbowl. Offensive head coaches are very "trendy" right now, but I think a quality coach is a quality coach. He's not wrong, obviously it's factual, that the Bills are the #2 spending team in the NFL on D, though given that it's not even training camp yet, it remains to be seen how things shake out on 53 man rosters across the league. But we're actually spending more of the cap (52.23%) on offense than on defense (51.85%) So pointing out the #2 spending team on defense, prior to training camp, seems like one of those "true but what does it mean?" facts. "Nothing to bolster the offensive side of the ball" is just plain wrong. 1st round pick, Kincaid, TE 2nd round pick, O'Cyrus Torrence, OG Our 2 biggest FA acquisitions were on offense - Connor McGovern, OG for $22.35M and Deonte Hardy for $9.5M. One can debate whether they're the RIGHT offensive acquisitions, but not whether the Bills in fact tried to bolster the offense.

What about that movie star he's started dating? Major distraction, what happened to focused on football? /sarcasm pssst. a fair handful of the responses are sarcastic

I hear ya, and one of the things I love about this board is the relative scarcity of eyeball-popping gifs in avatars and flashing in messages. I get a headache just thinking about some sites. The obvious is that there's a lot of room between 10 MB and 204.8 kB, which is the current limit. Now maybe the limit needs to be 204.8 kB. But say I'm writing a post about how Allen's anticipation has changed, and I want to illustrate it with a couple of jpegs cropped from film. I used to be able to just crop them and paste them in. Now I need to save it as a file then upload it, and possibly re-size it. I think we see less illustration of points with film clips and stuff, and that's one of the reasons why. Not judging, maybe 204.8 kB is where it's at and 500 kB would potentially result in hugely expanded server fees, that's not my lane. I just know it would be helpful from the posting side if the limit were a bit higher.

The canonical wisdom is that the "blind side" is the L side, the IOL needs to maintain a pocket, and the RT can be given help from a TE, WR or RB to chip - or, in Josh's case, that he can see and evade. At this point, we certainly have too many bodies signed at both DT and DE

Fixed now? 1) pick your gif of choice off giphy 2) click the paper airplane "share" 3) choose "copy GIF link" 4) paste in There's probably some snazzier way but that's what I do, mentioned for any diagnostic usefulness

They seem to have settled on a diagnosis of commotio cordis The thing is, it's such a rare occurrence that statistics about whether or not it's more likely to happen again are likely not very meaningful As far as they know, it isn't more likely to happen again, but then again, most of the people to whom this has happened weren't playing tackle football I think it's a bit of a long shot for Damar to make the team this season, not because I'm worried he's more likely to have an on field health issue than the other guy, but because I think it's very likely several of his ribs were broken and he had aspiration pneumonia. He would have had some muscle wasting while in the hospital, and his ability to work out would have been hindered for a couple months (they wouldn't have wanted him to really push himself until they figured out what was going on, also, he likely felt as though an elephant sat on his chest and his feet were injected with lead for a while. He's always looked small for a football player to me, but he's also looked jacked. Now he doesn't. Trainers - I know there are a bunch of you here - how long does it take a guy who has nothing to do but work on himself to build strength? How long to build aerobic capacity?

Nice. Make Talley proud, Floyd!

Wait. Are you saying that’s not normal?

Glad you’re OK I think people of both sexes need that friendly reminder to check themselves. I saw data a while back that a surprising # women with breast cancer had the lump found by their SO When I was a grad student, the wife of one of our professors - a physician!!!!!!! - was being treated for a golf ball size lump that was cancerous. A physician!!!! Golf ball size! we can all do better by ourselves

That brings us to what, 7 DE under contract (counting Von Miller who lists as a LB due to his #)? Von, Rousseau, Epenesa, Basham, Lawson,Kingsley Jonathan, and now Floyd Somebody's gotta go Could be worse, could be a DT where we currently have....10 DT on the roster. Washington likes competition, he's got competition.

We did not I will say this, Oliver showed up for his interview with Maddy Glab with a cute little crawler - ~6-9 months? Oliver, as many players, has been quiet about his personal life, but he evidently has one and now a little girl. He seemed very comfortable with her, too, like he's an active parent. It's not unknown for some players, once they have kids and sometimes a stable relationship, to kind of level-up and take their game more seriously 'cuz now they got shoes to fill as a Dad https://www.buffalobills.com/video/instant-reaction-ed-oliver-signs-a-four-year-contract-extension-buffalo-bills

I think NickyLeaks should dry himself off. If the Jets are negotiating with Cook and his agent, and have a deal ready to go *while he is still under contract to another team who may be seeking to trade him*, that would be a huge case of Tampering and the J-E-T-S Jets would be in trouble with the league. -
Why did Isaiah McKenzie fail as starting Slot WR?
Beck Water replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
Based upon what? Your in-depth analysis of his 275 snaps showing that he was, in fact, running the correct route at the correct depth, reading the zone defense correctly and choosing the correct option, getting open against zone, and catching the ball consistently? What was Shakir's catch %? His drop %? Let me help - he had 10 receptions on 20 targets with 2 scored drops (meaning the ball hit him in the hands and should be caught with "ordinary effort). You could be right that 90% of the board would agree with you, I dunno - but if so, what would that say to 90% of the board's football acumen? -
Morse comes across very serious in locker room and post-game interviews It was cool to see him unbuttoned a little bit His explanation of why he wears a beard 😅😅😅

The actual yearly salary difference between the two was very slight - McKenzie at $2.26M and Crowder at $1.97. So like $260k. I think your read is correct that they were expected to compete/share the slot role, and McKenzie seemed to be ahead of Crowder in camp. Crowder did not "get" the starting slot role, he and McKenzie were splitting snaps there - McK averaging 47% of the snaps and Crowder 36% before breaking his leg, with the Buffalo sportswriters frantically reading "tea leaves" about who got more snaps each week. Anyway, McKenzie is the Colts problem now. Another viewpoint is that McKenzie had been stuck on the depth chart behind Beasley and had broken out for some very big games when given the chance. It's not like he'd been given a chance to start in the slot and failed previously - Beasley never wanted to leave the field, broken ribs, broken leg, didn't matter. The Bills didn't want to put their full trust in McK as a slot, thus the Crowder signing, but Crowder also had a resume of being injured and unavailable. From how they were handled in camp and their snaps early in the season, it seemed as though the Bills viewed them as competing or at least, sharing snaps. -

Josh said it was an ad-lib by Josh, so, there is that. It's a point that a good RB or WR (especially with Josh as their QB) needs to be on their toes and ready for anything until the whistle blows. It's why I think folks here have a valid point that McKenzie had "focus" issues. It's like he ran his reverse, didn't get the handoff, got to the sideline and said "my job here is done" instead of being ready for whatever. -
C'mon Simon you know that's a trick question. The correct answer is "neither of you" You hang out here. That's not normal. What you do with your underwear is a red herring. Your wife is married to you. That places her normalcy into question, right there, regardless of any dainty folding habits.

I like the "giving someone some work" aspect. Our personal problem with hiring people, is the Sebastian the Crab aspect: "if you want it done right, you have to do it yourself". We try to find contractors or companies with good reviews or who have done good recent work for people we know, but it's still been a mixed bag. If there were a magic wand I could wave to ensure that the company or contractor we hire would do a competent professional job with no hassles, we'd probably hire more and do less. Part of the problem is that we're both engineers and have a lot of construction/remodeling hands-on experience and we read up to fill in the gaps, so we can really tell when something is not being done correctly.

LOL Wat? Some people enjoy doing projects, like building a deck or painting it. Some people don't enjoy it, but they enjoy saving money with DIY they can then spend on other things, be it necessities or gifts or vacations But if you have enough money to meet your needs and wants, and you don't enjoy stuff like building a deck, why would you do it if you can afford to hire someone? Let another man eat, and spend your time doing something you do enjoy. Life's uncertain, and too short to pinch every penny and spend time doing stuff you don't enjoy outside work if you have alternatives.

Makes perfect sense to me. I almost threw out an insulated Yeti that is perfect for my morning coffee, AND a present from my daughter to boot, because it is that exact color of Dolphins aqua. I decided the cachet of my daughter spending her (at the time) scarce and hard-earned money on a gift, far outweighed the unfortunate color, so I kept it, but I had to think about it. But then, I've been a fan from the mid-60s and can well remember 20 consecutive straight losses through the '70s

Shakir played 275 snaps. That means that 205 of them were probably against zone coverage, since I doubt he was doubled up in man with Diggs and Davis on the field. Since 75% of his snaps were presumably against zone, the question for his long-term prospects would be “how well did he get open there?” I believe this stat is just measuring whether the receiver has separation at the completion of his route vs. man coverage It’s not assessing: 1) whether he ran the correct route at the correct depth 2) whether he was open at the point where the QB had to make a decision and throw the ball 3) whether there was a better throw available
