It's not a "take", it was factually true. Thielen was, in fact, the #1 receiver on the Vikes from 2016-2018. In 2019, it was Diggs, but Thielen was injured and missed 6 games. It's probably worth noting that the 2019 season - the season where Diggs unleashed drama, missed practices, and got fined for it - was his best season on the Vikes by far.

He can't be gone, cap wise. Whatever beef he has, they need to slaughter it, butcher it, wrap it in freezer paper, and pack it into the chest freezer. Stuff Diggs agent Bakari said and one of the insiders tweeted seem to me to indicate Diggs/Bakari may try to claim that because he checked in, got his physical, and met with coaches (but vamoosed before practice and didn't practice) he was "present" for mandatory minicamp, thus no fine. I wouldn't think the NFL would allow that to stand.

Nah, it's not a new allegation. It was all over the Josh Britt breakup rumors thread. Britt told her hairdresser Josh was cheating on her last fall OR Britt found out when she scrolled through Josh's phone at the team Halloween party which she and Josh hosted (because every hostess scrolls through her BF phone at a party she's hosting) OR Britt found out when the girl texted Josh a sonogram the night before the Bengals game causing Britt to blow a fuse and trash the place and Josh had to sleep in a hotel (never mind the whole team routinely sleeps in hotels the night before home games) OR The girl left it on their porch (never mind Josh lives in a gated property with a long driveway) the night before the Bengals game, causing Britt to blow a fuse and trash the place and Josh had to sleep in a hotel (never mind the whole team routinely sleeps in hotels the night before home games) OR The neighbors heard a ruckus and called OP police (never mind that Josh's house has a lot of property and I don't think the neighbors overlook or could overhear much of anything) The woman in question is a bartender OR a UB soccer player OR Diggs former girlfriend (Diggs is a Player - does he even have a girlfriend or former girlfriend right now?) OR there is no woman of significance to the relationship (even if cheating occurred, many WAG of superstars tolerate some cheating - Patti Thomas, Jill Kelly etc) OR Oh and toss Hailee Steinfeld into the mix, someone replied to a tweet about Josh's date with her "he cheated on Britt with her" and Britt actually "liked" that reply. It's all "heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend who heard it from another" stuff. That last is the most plausible to me. Britt was on Kelly Stafford's podcast in December and Stafford talked about having to give Matt an ultimatum at one point to move their relationship forward. Britt was clearly taking photos during the blizzard where Josh had to dig his way to the gate. She was photographed with Josh after the Miami game. She was there at the Bengals game and posted afterwards. They went on a friends vacation in Feb and a Hawaii vacation in Feb/Mar. Then they broke up. Seems plausible they went on vacay, discussed where their relationship was headed. Maybe Britt tried the Kelly Stafford ultimatum "married or through" thing, and Josh said "through".

I agree that Josh's presser was Chock Full of Conciliation. But upthread, we had guys saying that the issue was Josh (and the Bills) were Done with walking on egg shells for Diggs and putting up with Diva behavior, and Diggs needed a minute to adjust. The two aren't compatible. If you're Done with the Diva STuff, you don't spend 11 minutes in a presser trying to placate and conciliate.

6/13 Day 1 and 6/14 Day 2 Mandatory Minicamp
Beck Water replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
It happens that way sometimes. There were fewer highlights to be found than I expected, though Imma check again. Perhaps they had other stuff on their minds 😣 Anyone know if media is allowed today? -
I’m not sure what you mean by saying it didn’t affect this year’s number. it did, that was the point

Got it. That wasn't my intent. From the trade forward, I've been defending it despite the huge salary disparity; Jefferson was used initially as a "run deep and catch the ball" vs. giving Josh a polished and complete route runner who could get open when double covered. Different roles on a different offense. To his credit, Jefferson has formed himself into a complete WR which is why he had such a fantastic 2022 season. Allen's quote about Diggs "He doesn’t want this to be a distraction" seems Cap. Diggs has formed himself into a complete distraction right now, and a poor example for the team. So my point was just, yeah, I think you can see the trade from different perspectives going into Year 4.

We can view it as in the past 3 seasons, Jefferson was 4th, 2nd, and 1st in receiving yards; 15th, 4th, and 1st in receptions. Diggs has been 1st, 8th and 5th in receiving yards; 1st, 9th, and 4th in receptions. OK, different type of offense. Both top receivers, call it a "push". Jefferson has a 4 year $13M contract. Diggs has earned $54M in the past 3 seasons with another $24M this season. No question in terms of cap ROI, Jefferson is the much better deal. But OK, Diggs was asked to come in and change/elevate the culture of the receiving room and basically "show how it's done" vs. Jefferson playing for a vet QB on an established team. Different roles. Jefferson is in the middle of a contract negotiation. When asked if he'd be in camp, he said "Will I be here? Oh yeah. Yeah." Diggs not only left the building before mini-camp today, he threw out a major distraction in the way of his cryptic Insta post about "letting people cap" and "if them lies help you sleep, better tell 'em big dawg". I would say given the excellence of the receiving contribution vs. the much lower ROI, "will I be here? oh yeah. Yeah." vs. "if them lies help you sleep better tell 'em big dawg" provides an alternate view that going into the 4th year, it's looking as though Minnesota may have won it.

I tend to agree, since Josh talked for 11 minutes and all of the questions were about Diggs, while all McDermott said was "I'm very concerned", it does seem directed at Josh. On the other hand...there is no restriction on players talking to each other in the off season. Diggs can't throw the ball to himself. If Diggs has issues with his QB, the guy he depends upon to get him the ball, and he wants to be a Bill and win a superbowl here (as Von said), he really ought to deal with any issues he has man-to-man, months ago.
