  1. I thought he was contributing before he broke his leg. But FWIW the Giants cut him, and he's not on their practice squad (perhaps he's looking for another roster, who knows) Beasley is on their practice squad
  2. This was great. Pssssst. Maddy Glab was hired by the Bills in 2019. Sexy Rexy was long gone. But I'm sure if she had been here, he would have tried it.
  3. As someone who had hopes for McKenzie being ready to take a step, I have to tell you that “everyone” doesn’t mean what you appear to think it means. There were a lot of people here expressing concern on that point and that Beane had not done enough at receiver
  4. I’ve said it before and don’t mind saying it again. It doesn’t bother me that the Bills moved on for a higher ceiling/lower floor player like Harty. McKenzie got his shot at slot WR and it didn’t work out. I cross my fingers and heart that Harty is an improvement on the gadget role and Kincaid owns the middle. But when you got a 170, 5’7” player who sticks on an NFL roster 6 years and now going into his 7th, most of the crap talked about him here logically can’t be true. Winning teams can’t afford to carry a total trash player. Give a high draft pick physical specimen patience to develop sure. Carry a waiver wire pickup as useless as folks claim about McKenzie, Nope
  5. and here we go: Re-signed
  6. I had not heard those stories. Gross, if true. May I ask if you have a source you could share? In any event, I do not want Wentz as a backup QB. If he couldn't be revived by Reich, he can't be revived. You may be correct about what Wentz needs, but why do you think giving someone who may need "an extremely short leash" is what the Bills need in a PS QB?
  7. LOL. Yes, I've heard Milano speak. Before one of the Ravens playoff games, he caused a bit of a kerfluffle by saying "We're pretty confident in being able to contain him."about Lamar Jackson. After the win, he posted this: Another classic Milano-ism was when he said in an interview that he was trying to become more vocal on the field. One of the reporters asked "how do you become more vocal?" to which Milano replied, deadpan, "You talk more" Micah Hyde says that Milano is one of the biggest internal trash-talkers on the team. That must require talking.
  8. Dale was reported by NFLDraftDiamonds, which is small-school scout Damond Talbot's account. Talbot later walked it back: For what it's worth. Talbot knows many of these guys, but what was actually offered or just put out as "we'd like to have you depending on how things fall", who knows?
  9. On the practice squad, Kirksey and DJ Dale have not been confirmed by the Bills Also, I don't know if this is petty or what, but we have 24 offensive players and 26 defensive players. I think the Bills deferred making decisions at DB, and maybe at LB, into the first 4 weeks of the regular season.
  10. Yes. The Bills have to be under the cap for 53 man roster, practice squad, and I believe IR counts too. Edit: this explains salary cap pretty well https://russellstreetreport.com/salarycap/nfl-salary-cap-faqs/ FWIW, players on injured reserve may or may not count their full salary, depending upon how their contract is written. This is called a "split contract" and one source says about 40% of current NFL players have a split. Explanation here: https://www.behindthesteelcurtain.com/2023/5/30/23742416/explaining-how-the-nfl-works-part-5-minimum-salaries-injured-reserve-down-salaries-steelers A "down" salary of $450,000 for a rookie translates to $25,000/week vs. $41,667/week at rookie minimum Likewise for year 1, it's $26,389/week vs. $48,333/week. The team is not obligated to play salary to players on the NFI list, but may choose to do so.
  11. Imma just drop this here and slip away quietly https://www.australianfirefighterscalendar.com/ G'day, Mate!
  12. The pessimist says "glass is half empty" The optimist says "glass is half full" The engineer says "excess glass by a factor of two"
  13. Lisfranc injury. Pretty sure that's what Sammy Watkins had? But I thought they ordinarily heal pretty well. Corral made the initial 53 man roster and was cut so the Panthers could claim 3 guys off waivers. That's gotta sting. I'm not saying you're wrong, but do you make a special deal of watching the Panthers pre-season or something? Cuz the guy never threw a regular season pass for them.
  14. That's actually a little weird. Teams usually don't sign guys to the PS only to cut them a day or two later. BUT, the Bills have only officially announced 14 PS members. So who is the reported PS member who isn't legit on there - is it DJ Dale? A surprise to me, too. Also AJ Klein.
  15. Colts were one of the first teams to announce their complete practice squad They have 3 WR on it (Amari Rodgers, Mike Strachan, Juwann Winfree)
  16. No, Josh on Pat McAfee said Diggs was voted C.
  17. So Kirksey and Dale not confirmed by Bills, and only 14 names listed above But Shorter and Spector to IR, re-signing Reid Ferguson and signing Germain Ifedi now confirmed. It's interesting, they've got a couple of names on there I didnt hear much about - Brown, Jarvis, Thompson, Vickers. Anyone got info?
  18. I think when he's healthy, Harty has the potential to be a better, more dynamic player than McKenzie ever was. I think he's better at tracking the ball deep, has a better release, may even run better routes. But I think everyone ought to be concerned about using "Harty" and "the best ability is Availability" in the same sentence.
  19. Destin Adams is a Colts "beat writer" and "NFL Insider" for the Colts
  20. You're correct. There are no protections this season. Any PS player is a free agent, and may be offered a contract on the 53 man roster by another team at any time. After the contract is offered, the player may accept or decline. The only time the player HAS to accept is if he's elevated to the 53 man roster and then waived. I think each player still gets 3 free elevations where they automatically revert without waivers, and of course vet players aren't subject to waivers until after the trade deadline. The pay differential is significant between PS and 53 man roster. Practice squad players with less than 2 years get $16,000 per week; vets get $16-$20,600 per week. Vet minimum for a rookie on the 53 man roster is $44,118 per week; vets >2 yrs get $63,529 per week.
  21. Bills Practice squad signings reported as of 3:55 pm Eastern time: Andy Isabella (WR) - v Tyrell Shavers (WR) Ty Johnson (RB) Joel Wilson (TE) Richard Gouraige (OL) Christian Kirksey (LB) - v Eli Ankou (DT) - v Cameron Kilne (DE) DJ Dale (DT) Ja'Marcus Ingram (CB) Kyron Brown (CB) Room for 5 more guys, 3 more vets v - veteran with more than 2 yrs on NFL roster, maximum of 6 per squad. ? means I'm not sure if they count.
  22. I believe it's 6 weeks, and just to be clear the Bills haven't indicated an injury settlement with Barkley. So the earliest Bills could resign Barkley would be injury settlement weeks + 6 weeks, 10 weeks in your example.
  23. Add in, in 2021 the Jets drafted another QB 2nd overall...only to give up a bunch of picks for the privilege of paying a 39 yr old vet the big bucks In other words, I agree with you that perhaps the Jets aren't the best example to hold up for exemplary drafting.
  24. I'm not entirely ginned up on the PS rules (actually I try but they give me a headache). However, the Bills placed Barkley on season-ending IR yesterday. They can release him with an injury settlement, but then they are barred from signing him for 6 weeks AFTER the # of weeks in the injury settlement. PRETTY SURE that includes a signing to the PS
  25. So....the Colts are going to go into the season with 3 WR on the active roster? And 5 TE?
