  1. What do fans actually know about a player's on-field and practice behavior and demeanor? Hyde has said Milano is the biggest trash-talker on the team. Defensive players from various teams teams have said that Allen is a big trash talker and our OLmen have talked about the need to get down there quickly to keep things calm "just let the kid talk". 15 yard penalties are always very costly, but 1) let's be real - the root problem here isn't Matt's penalty, it's the fact that what constitutes "taunting" is ill-defined and a moving target, depending upon how that crew of refs or even individual ref sees it. So what a player says or does one week or on one part of the field is fine, and the next week or on a different part of the field, it's a penalty. And that's part of a larger problem: the NFL doesn't do enough to standardize refereeing and to make it consistent, or to enforce any consequences on consistently bad refs. 2) I personally find it sick that a player got almost as big of a penalty for "taunting" as another player got for fouls that could have concussed a player or injured them severely, and more than for tripping which again, could have injured a player severely. Milano hasn't gotten that many interceptions before his 3 last season, so I'm sure he was pumped. I'm sure the coaches had words for him, because I do agree with you that it was costly.
  2. I thought that should have been a penalty I thought Q Williams landing on Allen's head when he was already down last week should have been a penalty.
  3. That would be a huge failure of the protocol if it was the Bills coaching staff. With an unaffiliated neurological consultant up in the booth watching plays and medical professionals on both sidelines, should not be coaches pointing these things out. Edit: confirmed that it wasn't Bills coaches, was officials acting on spotting from UNC.
  4. Nope. Josh has a very neat and professional-looking slide from youth and HS baseball. He needs to decide he'll use it. Good Luck With That.
  5. Sorry. Can't do. (can't make it make sense)
  6. Spencer Brown reveals his plan against Crosby: https://twitter.com/haprusak/status/1703524823433916745?s=20
  7. Exactly.
  8. I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say here. Are you implying a calf injury does not affect a QB's throwing ability? It's my understanding that throwing a football at a professional level starts with the feet and legs and sequences through the hips, torso, shoulder, and arm Isn't that what Josh has talked about with changing his throwing motion, that when it was mapped he learned that he wasn't sequencing correctly so that his throwing motion was all upper body, and that to achieve accuracy he had to learn to change his motion so he harvested power from his feet? Hasn't Burrow talked about improving his throwing velocity by how he used his feet, planting more firmly and pushing off with more force? Edit: here https://www.espn.com/blog/cincinnati-bengals/post/_/id/33304/how-joe-burrows-improved-velocity-could-have-bengals-thinking-playoffs https://bengalswire.usatoday.com/2021/07/23/jordan-palmer-joe-burrow-improved-throw-velocity-bengals/ Anyway, if a UCL is an excuse, surely a calf injury is an excuse, but I think they both can significantly impact throwing.
  9. Until I read this, I had absolutely no idea that Matt Hasselbeck had a younger brother named Tim who had played in the NFL and is now working for ESPN. Never heard of him before your post. Fun Bills Rush Facts from Today: 35 rush attempts, 37 pass attempts 10 1D by rush, 17 1D by pass 183 rush yards 5.2 ypa Josh Allen 3 attempts for 7 yards rushing I did think a few of Josh's throws were a bit reckless, but none of them were stupid unlike last week.
  10. They usually don't come out for 24 hrs
  11. That's not what I saw at all. Though I'm not sure why we're resurrecting at thread from 2021.
  12. LOL I would bet money that in 2021, when the Chiefs were 3-3 after 6 games, you would have found some "fire Reid" clamoring in Chiefs Kingdom. Rams could be a get-right game. Kind of depends upon which Matthew Stafford shows up.
  13. If his calf is injured, it makes sense to let it heal
  14. He's more versatile. Lewis can play nickel CB, boundary CB, and S - plus teams.
  15. That was Christian Benford (CB) not Terrel Bernard (LB) Didn't the Raiders want to run on us? Some dude named Josh Jacobs lead the NFL in rushing yards last season? I'm still concerned about his size. Wish he'd come into the season looking stronger. But looking way better than I thought he would so far.
  16. Um, they were 1-0 going into this week and are 2-0 now Maybe so but that receiver got mugged. Was both. Jets defense doesn't look as good when it's their offense gifting opponents 4 TO instead of receiving the gift of 4 TO
  17. OP and some posters in it: "There seems to be a problem where our QB's multi-turnover games have gotten too frequent, like 1 out of 2 games" You after 2 games, 1 good 1 bad: "This thread is obsolete, get ready for all these posters to turn tables" Seriously? I mean we're all fans, we'd love that to be true, but one example on each side for something that looks like a 1 out of 2 pattern (and which included its share of wild-man plays) does not eliminate concern.
  18. How did that Jets defense look vs Dallas? But, if that's the story (4 TO vs good D, 0 TO vs mediocre D), how's the season's chances look? Can't speak for "we". Me, of course I am, but we're 1-1 on mistake-free Josh vs "turnover machine Josh" I'd like to see more of the former. I would love to get to the end of the season and have this be true. No cap.
  19. I would really love to be a fly on the wall and know what the deal is with Elam, where he’s not only not starting but he’s like #5 on the depth chart
  20. Pretty much where I am
  21. I think NE is doomed, but we’ll see Edit: nice defensive series by NE there, but I don’t have a lot of faith in Mac and their offense
  22. Things I’ve learned from listening to Chris Collinsworth 1) does not matter that the Pats are on their 3rd string CB because they have safety help 🙄 2) big difference in the game is the Miami DL (um….how about the points off the turnover, it was literally 10-3 at that time?) 3) Tua is just like Dan Marino There have been more gems but those stuck in my mind
  23. I hate to say it but I kind of want the Pats to win this, so the whole AFCE be tied up 1-1
  24. He is in a suite But c’mon man if you bring a guy in to honor him, give him a “room with.a view” Do wonder if there’s more backstory
  25. Is this the place to say while Denver deserved to lose, their receiver got assaulted in the EZ on that two point attempt?
