  1. You've got a great point about coaches on the sidelines, and that it probably does look "bigger" in the contained environment of the booth vs on the sideline. I think you're not quite right and for young coordinators wanting to be hired as head coaches, it probably is still looked at carefully - like is this guy controlled enough, or is he going to lose it as a head coach enough to be thrown out of games or draw penalties on the team? whereas Bill Belicheck can break a Microsoft Surface or slam around a phone on occasion and NBD. But to be clear, I'm not criticizing Dorsey for it or at least that was not my intent, just sharing it.
  2. If you're watching, you'll see that Diggs gets hit elbowed and kicked in the head a lot. Often after he's down. There's a reason other receivers backs and OLmen scurry over like their feet are on fire. But Adams is not wrong that it was an unnecessary hit and a foul. That's true, but it doesn't change the fact that the hit was a "bad Rapp"
  3. How the @#$!#$%^$%^&! are you guys getting these things to embed? I keep trying the tip I was given of editing the link to "twitter.com" and still doesn't.
  4. I'd be terribly flattered that you pay so much attention to the threads I start, except, well, I can't say that I am. For one thing, it's kinda stalker-ish and creepy. For another, given the number of threads I factually start, you're making ***** up just to take a shot at me, and that's really not a good look. Why not just ignore threads that don't interest you instead of....bumping them up the board by responding? A point. A good point. I agree, he seemed far more natural and at ease and likeable. It shed a little light on how the players and fellow coaches might see him.
  5. Not saying it's bad. Just saying it's a thing. I do believe that if he wants to progress to being a head coach, it might interfere. He may be perceived as not emotionally contained and controlled enough for the higher position. But that's a him problem.
  6. I'm afraid if Milano intercepts another pass like that, the ref is going to call it DPI or "personal foul - unnecessary roughness" Micah Hyde threw it https://x.com/thadbrown7/status/1704547932618240108?s=20
  7. Well - their opponents, the Cardinals and Broncos, managed to score 46 points and rack up 636 yds on them over their first 2 games. Mostly, as noted, in the first 3 quarters of games So either those opponents are pretty elite offenses, or their defense does allow opponents to score and move the ball
  8. Now this theory appears to have merit.
  9. Is that serious? Herbert is the grandson of Frank Herbert, the author? I had no idea
  10. It's not a small point actually. You can discredit a specific source in a fairly straightforward way, but to prove something didn't happen is more involved and time-consuming. That's at the heart of the saying "a lie travels around the world in the time the truth takes to put shoes on", Brandolini's law, etc.
  11. Well, if it's truly health issues, Williams could have just gotten a horrible health diagnosis for himself or a close family member. An empathetic boss might struggle not to tear up for that.
  12. Not to question your no doubt erudite proclamations, but while one can verify that something actually occurred pretty quickly - it's generally accepted as rather more difficult than that to "verify" something was made up.
  13. The source claiming the FBI raided Halas Hall has been refuted by Bears spokespeople. If that's the only source for the claim that the FBI raided Williams house, that claim may be questionable. Maybe he is resigning for health reasons - he wasn't at the Tampa game and Eberflus called the defense.
  14. Tell us what your credible sources found.
  15. I could be wrong, but I don't think the FBI gets involved with DV allegations.
  16. "A team spokesman addressed the rumors regarding Halas Hall being raided today as false. We were also told that the police have not been to Halas Hall in connection to Alan Williams." https://x.com/CourtneyRCronin/status/1704590671812624489?s=20 Seems pretty specific about FBI not rading Halas Hall, and no refutation of them raiding Williams home.
  17. Years ago, we had site security and a bunch of FBI agents show up "are you (name)?" "yes" "you're under arrest" up against the wall, taken away in handcuffs, computer impounded as evidence, fired from his job. Rumors of horrible doings abounded, but no charges were ever filed and a month or two later (name) was seen going about with his grandkids, acting like any retired person. (He was a gun enthusiast, and involved in all kinds of fring-y bulletin boards, it was just after 9/11, so there may have been something involving arms sales that brought in the FBI) So true, they don't show up to say hello, but they also aren't an infalliable marker for horrid deeds. Matt Eberflus struggling not to cry isn't a good sign though (IF that part is true)
  18. You might update the OP. Per Schefter, he has now resigned https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/1704589283397439619?s=20
  19. https://x.com/agetzenberg/status/1704563066631852368?s=20 "Josh Allen said that he was surprised he won AFC Offensive Player of the Week. He said he didn’t think his stats were “that great.” Allen completed 83.8% of his passes, threw for 274 yards and three touchdowns. https://x.com/agetzenberg/status/1704563809405280324?s=20 Compared it to the other times he won and noted that they give those awards to players on winning teams
  20. There's a saying "Give a man a reputation as an early riser and he can sleep 'til noon". Like it or don't, he's got a reputation for booth shenanigans now so people are watching.
  21. Do you mean 3:1 TD:INT rate? Because ....psssssssst (whispers) rate numbers are only meaningful when you look at the whole picture, or at a series of related games. We'd like to see Josh stay at 3:1, but career, Josh is 2.25:1
  22. or "gif'd" or whatever. This is to Khalil Shakir's TD https://x.com/MattParrino/status/1703880996276281379?s=20 Dorsey talking about it: https://x.com/MattParrino/status/1703880179032916284?s=20
  23. I think McDaniel sincerely doesn't believe Garappolo is a downgrade over Carr. I think he sees 2019 and 2021 as what Garappolo is capable of, and disallows his injury-shortened seasons as bad luck that shouldn't repeat itself. 67.7% completions, 239 YPG, and just under 2 TD per INT with SFO are enough to win with a good defense and run game. Then there's that "Catnip for Coaches" how is he on the whiteboard? thing that keeps PeterDude in the league (yes he is still in the league, for those that might have missed it) - the coach, as you say, favors the player who knows his scheme inside out. Statistically speaking, Carr isn't all that different than Garappolo. A bit lower completion % (64.6%), a bit higher YPG and TD/INT (248 and 2.2 vs. 239 and just under 2). And Garappolo has a higher passer rating. As perhaps you allude to, they're not as similar as the numbers might make them out to be. Carr has a little streak of the "wild man" in him. When his back is to the wall, he might blow up, OR, he might pull out that X factor and win games he's not expected to. There's an argument to be made for Garappolo as a more refined QB who can play within a system better. Myself, I worked a long time with a Denver fan who had plenty to say about McDaniel as the failed HC of the Broncos, and we both had a ringside seat to watch McDaniel turn Sam Bradford from a young but promising QB into a wet mess (next OC turned him back into a functional QB). Time could prove me wrong, but I don't think McDaniel is "all that and a bag of chips" as a HC or as an OC outside of NE with the Hoodie right behind him plucking the strings. I think McDaniel *is* a coach who fits the player into his system, and not one who adjusts his system to the particular strengths and weaknesses of the player, which means Garappolo probably is a better choice for McDaniel - IF he stays healthy.
  24. He's on paternity leave
