Pretty sure the women don't like you either. Fair.

To be fair, it's not uncommon for Brown, especially, to ramble on in some of those segments. Tasker is usually more concise. I realize that may not be a high bar. My impression is she's mostly there to be a "fluff piece" creator. One Bills Live is actually doing a great job this season of bringing in some quality football minds during the week - Dan Orlovsky, Brian Baldinger, and of course Greg Cosell. These are all guys who have forgotten more football than anyone in this board ever knew - including the people on this board who have forgotten more football than I'll ever know. These guys are couth, they're not going to roll up and say "your player sucks" but they do deal it straight.

Well, now, which is it? You say Fangio is trying to plug players into his scheme instead of devising a scheme around his players. But then you go on to heavily critique the players. So is it the scheme that's a mismatch, or is it the players that are bad? Regarding Ramsey, in 2020 and 2021 he was a 1st team all-pro for a reason, with a completion percentage against him of 51% and 59% respectively. Fell off a bit last season, but part of that is the Ram's offense free-falling from a top-10 offense to bottom-5. It's not true that he hasn't been a lockdown corner with a high level of play "for years". And pretty much every cornerback will get torched now and again by the league's best WRs. He commanded a 3rd round pick plus a player - both sides in that trade thought he can still play. I don't feel a lot of energy in delving into the details of LB play, Xavier Holland, Wilkins etc but if you're right about the scheme being a poor fit, how can you tell whether Wilkins is a "shell of his former self", or whether moving from a 4-3 to a 3-4 simply doesn't suit him? The Dolphins signed David Long from the Titans as a FA for $11M/2, he's not Oluakun or Roquan Smith but I think he's regarded as "solid" not "awful". Van Ginkel, BTW, is listed as their 2nd string and started 2/4 games. So given the preceding and your Ramsey "hasn't been a lock down for years" excuse me if I'm skeptical. Regarding the Miami D overall, right now they're about where they were last year - 24th, 25th - but 1/4 of that is getting whalloped by the Bills. They have 2 games where they've given up less than 20 points (league average is 22) and 2 games where they've given up more than 30 points. So it may be early days to see whether or not they're a huge disappointment. I think it's fair to say that Fangio has not effected an immediate and dramatic improvement.

Von Miller to 53 & Tre White to IR
Beck Water replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
As I see it, the differences are 1) Elam was the Bills own first round pick last season - in fact, didn't we trade up for him? And, he started 6 games, playing 100% of the snaps in the first 3 then a steadily decreasing number until he was a healthy scratch for a couple games - all this before Tre White returned. 2) our #1 CB just went on IR and #2 Questionable with a shoulder injury. So if we want to believe the Coachspeak that it's been a close battle and different coaches had different rankings of Benford, Jackson, and Elam, we expect to see him dress and play with the injury situation. Ford, on the other hand, is a former UDFA who started 4 years as a Seahawk. He kind of sucked in 2022 when Carroll asked him to play 3TDT, but played well previous years as a 1TDT. Evidence is, he's pretty much a NT or 1TDT, and the Bills think DaQuan and Settle are better. I don't understand the Vickers thing, because I can't find anything about him being able to rotate inside and out, but @Warcodered may be correct that they'll be looking for him to fill some of the inside snaps Rousseau took. -

Wait, what? When was Lawson on the injury report? He wasn't on it Friday, did he sprain his shoulder lifting a pint this morning? Edit: OK, I found it, but WTF? https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/football/news/bills-shaq-lawson-added-to-injury-report/ They were doing a walkthrough practice, how did he injure his toe? -

This is of more interest to me. Now it does happen that sometimes the Bills have elevated a player "just in case" and then he doesn't play. But usually, using one of 3 PS elevations on a player means they intend to have him active So....is Christian Benford's shoulder bad enough that he's leaning towards "out"? Or are they gonna make Ingram active, and have Elam a healthy scratch again? If the latter....Wow. Then, there's the question of why are we elevating a DT? We don't have a DT who has been on the injury report, and in fact...we've had one who's been a healthy scratch the most recent 2 games, and who only played 23 snaps (25%) in the 2 first games. So I'll be very interested to see our game day inactives. They did elevate Ingram for this game. -
Rich Eisen on The Mafia traveling to London

And I mean, he wasn't even complaining that they were doing something out of the way, like singing or whooping it up. He complained that they were....Talking. I mean, is it conformity minded and the most considerate behavior, No. But people react to flying differently, and there's nothing that says one can't have a quiet conversation with lights on if that's what gets you through the flight. So I wouldn't call it "extremely rude" unless they were whooping it up and hollering or playing loud music or powering a disco ball off their USB port. IMHO its "on" the people who 100% can and want to sleep, to bring face masks and noise-cancelling headphones or EAR protectors so that they can isolate themselves from those who can't/don't want to. -
I don't think their defense is a disaster. But they went into the season in the same position the Bills finished 2021 - missing their star lockdown CB. The Bills drafted CBs in 2022 and went into the season star-less, but they seem to have had a plan to be solid at that point. The part about the Miami D that was a disaster against the Bills was putting Kader Kouhou 1:1 against Diggs. They really should have double-covered Diggs and forced the Bills to beat them by throwing to someone else.

I lost track. Why is Chicago trading him for a used jockstrap and a bag of chips?

I posted elsewhere, I'm not sure what's going on with that video. Either Miller is trying to force McDermott's hand via publicity, especially with Rousseau out or McDermott wants the Jags to have to prepare for the possibility that Miller will play (he has some unique moves) or It should be taken at face value, and he will play - but possibly not very much In the same interview, Miller did say that he wasn't in "game shape" because there's no substitute for the physical contact of pre-season and actual games, but he could "dip his toe in" That is one possibility
-
TBH, I don't know WHAT to make of Von Miller's pressers. Says there's a "94.5%" chance that he plays. Also says he's not in "game shape" and there's no substitute for the physical contact of training camp and games, that he's going to be "dipping his toe in" -is Von trying to force McDermott's hand into making him a game active via the "court of public opinion", especially with Groot ruled out? -is Groot's injury worse than announced? I have missed what McDermott is calling it - is it "day to day" or "week to week"? -or is this Gamesmanship by McDermott? Von Miller has some unique pass-rush moves and tendencies, and if Von is talking like he'll play, the Jaguars OL needs to study them and the game plan needs to account for him

Oooooh....Tyreek Hill and Ja'Marr Chase going to have a bone to pick with that man

Of course it's mind-numbingly stupid. You're talking to a troll, and one who is not putting in the effort to be intriguing, entertaining, or enticing. Why are you guys feeding the troll?

John Harbaugh had a story too. The NFL encourages players to complete their degrees during the off seasons. The players need to loop in the HC in case they need some accommodation during OTAs/mandatory minicamp/TC, like a personal day to travel to campus or take tests. So the coaches are all, well, coached, to support and encourage this. But they're also busy people so if it's something routine like encouraging a guy to complete his degree, they don't necessarily disengage completely from whatever they're thinking about. So Urschel tapped on Harbaugh's door. "Come in! What can I do for you?" "Coach, I wanted to let you know I'm planning to work on my degree this off-season" "That's great, John, you'll never regret it! Just let me know how we can help!" Urschel leaves, and Harbaugh goes back to whatever he was doing and then a minute later the lightbulb flashes - "Wait a minute. That was Urschel. What degree is he talking about?" Urschel graduated with his Masters in 2013 before being drafted spring of 2014, and of course once he was focusing, Harbaugh knew that.

LOL. As we all know, ligaments and tendons can take longer to heal and require longer rehab, than broken bones. Well, it's not just that. They may not know 100% if there's a fracture yet. Our resident ortho surgeon could tell us more here. But it's my understanding that certain fractures, such as Lisfranc injuries, are suspected when there's something equivalent to a crush injury (such as 300 lbs of Ed Oliver landing on the top of Groot's foot). I've heard that these are difficult to detect on x-ray initially - like 50/50 - and possibly even hard to pick up by MRI while there's swelling. So part of the waiting game may be "did he actually break something and we can't see it yet?". In a couple weeks when the swelling goes down and repair starts, small fractures can be seen more easily as a bright white line of new bone forming. (That's probably what happened with Beasley's ribs, btw - the fractures likely couldn't be seen initially especially if covered by a good pad of muscle. But after they started healing, then they could be seen. But by then he'd been playing, so it was going to be hard to make him sit down) As a troll, you are neither interesting or enticing. You need to put in more effort to have more effect.

The good news on Bills-Jaguars injury report
Beck Water replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall
They didn't used to, but when the Covid rules changed giving each PS player 3 free elevations (without waiver exposure) and making it possible that any player could be ruled out at just about any time, it was "PS GUYS, GET ON THE PLANE!"
