  1. How does that disadvantage actually play out in terms of W-L record? I think it’s a bit of an apples to oranges comparison. The West Coast teams usually fly out Saturday AFAIK, so they have no time to adjust. And 3 hrs is kind of a “gotcha” as it doesn’t seem significant enough to make special efforts. If the Bills are doing what I think McDermott said, sleeping on the plane then staying up all day Friday, they should be OK by Sunday as far as body clocks. What I think is the bigger struggle is the preparation - hopefully they got in two good practices W and Th, but will they be mentally sharp enough to be alert to watch film Fri and Sat and to process all the details of the plays in the game plan?
  2. Was it Fitz or Whitworth who said “Defense is a state of mind”? To me that’s the story of this game. The Bears had that state of mind. The Commanders didn’t.
  3. Methinks they looked at the Bears 0-4 record and became 2-2 complacent. I’m sure a tough game with a close finish and a short week didn’t help But they really do look bad. Defeated, and it’s not even halftime
  4. Welp, that plan got intercepted
  5. I can’t say Washington doing any better stopping the pass game (with a little help from the Zebra’s no-call)
  6. No receiver in the vicinity. Even Amazon’s in-house expert says that should have been a penalty.
  7. If I didn’t know and you asked me which of these two teams was 0-4, I would pick the Commanders. Commanders are playing like they’d rather be anywhere else, doing anything else Well, Fields just did a stupid fling. WTF constitutes “intentional grounding” now anyway?
  8. No other football on at the moment
  9. Neal says "sorry": Daboll says they're moving on: Translation: Neal got told to "go cut a switch"
  10. I edited post above, but my point was that that particular make and model of aircraft could (theoretically) be sold kitted out as "all first class" essentially. But yes, of course, if it's a fleet workhorse plane that left Airbus with the seats installed in one of the standard certificated configurations, they wouldn't and couldn't reconfigure it on any sort of short-turn timeline, in fact I don't think OOS for a day would do it - probably a month to complete all the necessary paperwork.
  11. You're A Bad Man, Fanatic. A Bad, Bad Man. I like that in a man.
  12. If that's the case, then you're right, it's not been customized like that. No they wouldn't reconfigure the plane between flights. That isn't done. The plane would have to go out the Airbus door configured that way, or else be re-fitted in a process that takes much more time and a lot of FAA paperwork (or whatever the EU equivalent is)
  13. https://www.acj.airbus.com/en/creative-design One of the Airbus ACJ options is an Airbus 350-1000 series Edit: other people's comments that this is a fleet workhorse leads me to believe you're talking about how it wouldn't be reconfigured between flights, which was actually not what I was intending to suggest. It can get purchased (or retrofitted, a lengthy process) in just about whatever configuration the customer desires within broad limits, that was my point.
  14. "“I just feel like it’s not any different from any away game,” said Hill, whose 412 receiving yards lead all AFC players this season. “They got a great team. I feel like the fan base is just like any other fan base. So it’s gonna be just like a normal environment, you know, to us.” -Tyreek Hill, before the game
  15. Not sure what you mean by "not very big plane". Airbus A350-1041 can hold 350-400 passengers and has ~700,000 lb takeoff weight. But, since the Bills intend to have a practice tomorrow, I would expect that they sent much of their equipment ahead on a cargo flight, so it could get unloaded, clear any customs, get it trucked to the practice facility or field, and get it unpacked and set up. Yeah, but this is likely a charter plane. They can have it configured as 100% bed chair seating, and extra-long extra large ones at that. I'm sure the Bills aren't the only sports team or other group flying across the ocean and wanting to arrive there reasonably rested. EDIT: just to be clear, I was suggesting that Virgin Atlantic purchased a plane set up in this configuration or had one retrofitted (an extended process) to book for charters, not that they can take a fleet workhorse and re-fit it on a short turn around. If it's a normal workhorse flying scheduled routes, it has whatever seats it has.
  16. Whoever it is, they're on to a Pesticide theory now As a Bills fan, I wouldn't want them to publicize what hotel they're staying at for away games so fans and crazies can show up and bother them.
  17. "May" and "COULD" give your source a lot of wiggle room. They can be right either way.
  18. What was it Sammy Watkins said? “continue working y’all little jobs for the rest of y’all lives” The radio host didn't prove himself any better than Evan Neal in the "class" department, calling him "garbage" and "trash". Tomlin had this part right though about fans booing: "This is the sport-entertainment business. It is our job to win and thus entertain them. And so we don’t begrudge them for that." Ya got to wonder what the hell is going on inside the Giants though. I get it, Barkley injured, but it goes way beyond that. Tons of missed tackles on the D. Guys not flowing to the ball - if a Giant defender tackles, he tackles alone. They just don't seem like a well-disciplined well-prepared team.
  19. Bumping this thread to link this guy. Now.....I don't think he gives the Bills players enough credit on some of these plays. For example, Josh Allen is not exactly reading Tolstoy in the backfield, he's evading a rusher that Jimbo Cook treated to a half-assed whiff of a cut block before releasing. And I think Kohou would have taken something like 8 of 10 WR down with his attempted tackle on Diggs long TD run - Diggs has extraordinary strength and contact balance. But still, very enjoyable, go check his stuff out.
  20. According to the refs, Kohou was doing a bit too much covering, right? (DPI, DH (declined) ) In another thread I gave a shoutout to this Chris Kouffman guy who seems to be a Dolphins Cover 1 type. His breakdown of Diggs long TD play is pretty funny (spoiler: it wasn't all Kohou's fault) Watch these, worth it - I promise. Now personally, I think he's dunking on Kohou and Jones a bit much. Diggs works hard to build exceptional contact balance and strength, and I think 8 or 9 out of 10 WR in the NFL would have gone down as Kohou did have at least one of Diggs legs. But still....
  21. To date, Lawson has had a surprising (to me) large share of snaps - 96 (45%). Jonathan only has 19 (9%). So in terms of playing time/contribution to date, you're certainly correct about the rank order. But I think it's possible that @Cash is correct and the Bills may go with 5 DT, 6 DE for now, and take 1 less guy at CB. Part of my thinking is that they may want to let Miller ramp up but not find themselves short-handed if someone gets dinged. Basically, the Bills 53 man roster at the start of the season was full at DL (without Miller) and over-subscribed at DB. I think that was the Bills way of deferring decisions at CB (as well as acknowledging that injuries happen and may make a decision for them). So what I'm thinking is that they may let the roster be over-subscribed at DE and normal at CB for a bit and see what happens.
  22. I just want to give this guy @ckparrot some love. Go check out his twitter feed. He seems to be kind of an Erik Turner equivalent covering the Dolphins. He has a bunch of good play breakdowns from the Dolphins perspective.
  23. It's a good question what each individual service's scores mean. There's some explanation on the graphic that they scaled the scores from each service from 0 to 100, so 100 would mean it was the best score and all scores are ratioed using it as a denominator x 100 (at least, that's what I would do if I were doing it). I think the point isn't the score per se, since we agree we don't know what each individual score means, but that 3 different sports rating systems are all giving the Bills good ratings for pass and for run blocking. And considering my concerns about Spencer Brown going into the season, I find that positive, even if I don't know the weedy details about what went into each score.
  24. Bills media coverage seems really light for Wednesday. Wonder if a bunch of our reporters headed for London early to get a little "personal time" in?
