  1. To be honest, I'm not sure he's really "try hard" with the F-bombs or forcing them. I think it may be enough how you talk in the locker rooms he's been living in for decades, and it comes out. Whether or not he has what it takes to "lead men through adversity and hold their attention in hard times" is fair I guess. I believe I may agree with your take on Daboll - I dunno about "too confrontational and abraisive" but I had the impression on some topics he had nothing to learn because he knew it all already. But according to the Dunne "expose' " some Buffalo players thought the "best case" would be to fire McDermott and bring Daboll in as HC. Whoever those players were, wonder if they're still on the team and if they still think so. That kind of talk usually precedes the labor by 9 months
  2. If we did a poll wonder what the results would be
  3. I will say this, and it's something Josh Allen himself has touched on. Sometimes people choose one life path, and they kind of know on paper what it involves. Like say, they want to be a surgeon, and they look at a surgeon's training written out on paper in front of them, 4 years of college, 4 years of medical school, 5-7 years of surgical residency. But they don't really realize the nitty gritty of what that means, that they'll be 31 and may barely have time for a social life much less kids and a family. So it hits different from the inside, while you're going through it. Josh has touched on, he always wanted to be an NFL QB and play football at the highest level, and now he is, and it's great. But he didn't really realize what that would come to mean to his life outside of football. His first couple years, he could get away with taking a commercial flight wearing shorts and a scruffy hoodie and backpack and not being recognized or going to a restaurant and if someone "aren't you..." saying "who's that? never heard of him", or going on a vacation and not drawing attention. Now he can't, and it's clear that really bothers him, but it's part of the territory so he has had to adjust and "take the bad with the good".
  4. Oh, Geesh. The whole point of the video - stated at the very beginning - is that the Bills are playing well, but their offense could use a "tune up". If you want to "tune up" a car, you don't focus on the 29 parts that are working well, you focus on the parts that need adjustment.
  5. Wow, on that uncalled-DPI play to Knox, Josh initially had Cook in the flat (Warner thinks it's a walk in TD if thrown promptly, I don't see it or he should know) But OK- behind Knox, Kincaid was SCREAMINGLY WIDE open. Sheesh.
  6. The difference between the 2017 and 2018 Bills compared to the 2022 Giants and 2023 Giants, is that the Bills draft class in 2018 brought in that raw young stallion of a QB Josh Allen who needed to grow into the NFL. It was a growth/rebuilding year and everyone on the team knew it, then they upgraded the talent at key positions like WR and OL (people don't remember, but 2018 to 2019 was a big jump in OL competence). They cleared cap space in 2018 and spent it. In contrast, the Giants just tied up a shitton of cap space in Daniel "I busted, now my ACL did too" and failed to sign the best player on their team Saquon Barkley. So I agree with you on "if" they can put together a cast next year, but it's a huge IF. I don't think 6-11 is ever respectable. AFC North where the 3rd place team (Steelers) is 10-7 and made the playoffs, 3rd place finish there is respectable.
  7. Using social media to be counter social media and conforming to social media trends to be 'anti conformist' is 'too much' for me.
  8. McDaniel came across much more real and sincere talking to the team after practice (about 13 min in) about how it was a special day for him because he was 8 years sober and then how he saw intentionality and they were more of a team etc etc. - players seemed much more positive about what he said. Oh wow, I didn't realize Tom Brady actually said that about Josh. Link, or can you point me at where and when?
  9. Got it, thanks "On trend" with social media is still something I'll never be For the wife of a guy who signed for $29M guaranteed to be pity-partying on social media is still IMO highly tone deaf Maybe stop following social media trends and do something meaningful honey.
  10. No question on that at all. The Dolphins do have talent and more than most teams. The point is, Daboll managed to get the crew he had to improve their record from 4-13 to 9-7-1, then the wheels fell off this year even though they were widely held to have ADDED talent in the off season. So the Manly man who looks like a real football coach had the wheels fall off, while the Doof managed to improve?
  11. Look, I thought McDaniel was a scrubby little runt who wasn't gonna cut it as a coach, but his team went from 9-8 to 11-6. I don't think they do that without being capable and players buyin in. So what coach isn't a joke? Is Daboll a joke? He's supposed to be a "man's man" who smokes cigars etc. , his team went from 9-7-1 to 6-11
  12. I mean, he may? The players used to say Marv Levy "sounded like a football coach" when he talked to the team and on the sideline despite "sounding like a history professor" when he talked to reporters. I honestly don't know how much NFL coaches curse or don't curse when they're with their team and no cameras, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's a lot. It's not uncommon for NFL coaches to have the team equal or better their previous year's record in their first year. Then the question is, what happens in their 2nd year and going forward? Some have a losing season in a rebuilding year, like McDermott did. Some have a losing season and don't regroup (Gase). You got to give it to McDaniel that his team's record improved and he took them to playoffs 2 years in a row. A lot of people here were banging the drum for Daboll, but look at the Giants this year. Wheels fell off.
  13. Hi. I appreciate your optimism, and you have the caveat "Bills fan" and "in their right mind", but don't tell people they're slinging mud to sling it for saying "I think there is a portion of TBD that hate McDermott so much that they want a loss on Sunday.", when some of us have legit seen that sentiment expressed either here, or by forum members in their Twitter or X or other social media. I mean, you can say "well they're not Bills fans then" or "well they're cray cray then" but it's been indicated. You do realize that rational human beings can have a different viewpoint, and feel that discussing what happens if the Bills lose when the game hasn't even been played yet is negativistic bull****? I mean, yeah, you think it's something worth discussing and it's your right as a board member to start whatever discussion thread you want, but other rational human beings can think it's defeatist ca ca, and that's their right too.
  14. Add in this hat-tip to his October cartoon
  15. GTFO with this. We'll deal with that IF we ever have to deal with that.
  16. Oh, gee, that's very tone deaf. Would hate to read a piece like that written by a Bills players wife. Yeah, we get it, Carly, your life is not all roses and sunshine. You're gonna have to shield your kids from assumptions and pressure that they'll be athletic stars, and probably from nastiness if your team loses and your husband blew a play. People make mean assumptions about you, too. People are entitled and ask you for favors. But cripes sake, Girl, unless you guys are just blowing through money stupidly and not investing or taking financial advice, you have NO worries about finances, zero, nada, set for life. I'm sure you're worried about your husband getting injured, it's a tough game and we all saw what happened to Damar and to Damien Harris. Think of all the spouses of first responders - EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, police officers - whose lives could change in an instant through malice or crazy or just bad luck being in the wrong place at the wrong time - and on top of that they still get to worry about the car payments and the mortgage or rent and whether they'll have enough for that expensive medicine the pediatrician wants to try for their daughter with a rare health condition or for their T1 Diabetes treatment. Think of all your husband's teammates who came from bad family situations in bad parts of town and who have family or childhood friends who were shot, or who got into trouble with the law, not particularly because they're bad kids but because it was all around them and very hard to avoid. Have some perspective, Chica. Pretty much, This. I have no hate for this girl. But she's far from poor, and I have not much sympathy for her either. She should strap on doing what you or your wife have to do for two weeks.
  17. I agree, that's why I said that. In addition to a good 'ol case of "resting B word face" when I was just off 36 hrs straight and dragged my butt to group meeting, I'm sure I looked super-enthused listening to my boss (not), even though I honestly did respect him 100%
  18. I imagine they're tired and they hurt. They do seem to go hard for him. Guess we'll see Saturday in KC, but IMO it's a good thing the Bills players don't have cameras stuck up their noses this time of year.
  19. That decision making point interests me. In 2019 vs Cleveland, he threw 4 INTs, leading to Tomlin benching him in favor of Duck Hodges. Next 2 years the Ghost of Big Ben Roethlisberger took over again. So now 4 years later, he's started 3 games. I wonder if McDermott will be able to bedazzle him and bait him into Interceptionland again.
  20. It was real cute how they made a point about "Allen in Miami turned the ball over a lot of times" without mentioning anything about Tua's need to maybe cut down on his equal number of interceptions?
  21. They ain't fired Belicheck yet. Got to fire one before you can hire the other.
  22. For values of "competitive" equal to "lose 17-3 to the Jets"?
  23. "Extremely disrespectful....bad look that the Fins (players) allowed that. ....& don't ask me what I would've done to prevent it - trust me, he's not doing that on every opponent's field....he felt comfortable doing that at Hard Rock. He shouldn't be that comfortable." WTF do they think the Fins players are supposed to do to prevent it - attack him? He wasn't just "taking a victory lap" he was going along, acknowledging the fans. It's not uncommon, any stadium where an away game has a substantial number of opposing fans. Josh did it at Heinz Field or whatever they call Yinzer Palace these days, and found his JUCO OC on the way. Most away games, there aren't enough fans and it's just a small patch of them near the exit tunnel. I can see maybe not feeling like it's a safe thing to do at the Eagles home field where their fans throw rocks at Santa Claus fercripesake. Or maybe the old Oakland Coliseum.
