  1. So the players don't normally go straight from practice to the hotel. They practice about 11 am and usually wrap up whatever by 1:30-ish is my understanding, then for a home game they're free until 7 pm. Really good question on "where do the Bills typically stay for home games?" I don't know - hopefully someone does. There was an announcement of Ellicott Hotels as "the official hotel partner of the Buffalo Bills". Ellicot Hotels has a downtown hotel normally about 20 minutes to the stadium, but that seems like a Bad Idea to try to get to or from in a snowstorm. They own a bunch of hotels, but the ones closest to the Stadium are like your Country Inn/Hampton Inn/Staybridge moderate-price niche. Staybridge maybe, if the "Hotel partner" means anything? It's 6 miles from the Stadium and has multiple possible routes. Like they did in London with the Jags game and on the Tuesday game with the Titans, Got It.
  2. The cancellation was announced just as the players would have been at the facility, getting treatments and getting ready for a walk-thru practice. I would guess that the Bills themselves must have known of the plan hours before the presser, so what would they do? Bring the players in and hold walk-thrus anyway, knowing there will be a delay but that they may not be able to bring them in Sunday due to the driving ban? Do they try to get the players into a hotel Sat night so they're all assembled and no worries about having to do "snow removal and QB retrieval service"? Will they try to get them together as per usual schedule on Sunday night, even though there's a driving ban? Or will they let the players be at home until Monday even though they may then be struggling with "snow removal and QB retrieval"?
  3. Just to point out a couple things too. Odell Beckham Jr was traded from the NYG to Cleveland, after he returned from injury in 2018 to a continued decrease in R/G and Y/G from his first couple years. Sounded great - Cleveland had the #1 draft pick of 2018 in Baker Mayfield and he was widely lauded as looking promising his rookie year. Instead Beckham had a new career low in R/G and Y/G dropping from 88 to 65, then the wheels fell off in 2020 with an ACL injury and a 2021 social media furor that led to his release. He had a stroke of luck in being picked up by the Rams just in time for a SB victory, but the point is - demanding and receiving a trade from NYG to CLE did not work out in his career favor overall. Davonte Adams went from an MVP Rodgers season in GB which had him as one of the top 2-3 WR in the league, a Star - to Las Vegas where he is still a top WR in the league, but like one of a dozen or so and now with questions on the team at coach and at QB. The point is, a trade doesn't necessarily work out in a player's favor, and can work out a lot worse than being the favorite target of one of the league's top QB on a regularly contending team, even if the exit is earlier than we think.
  4. Bottom line up front: after the Jags game and then the Chargers game, I lack a little faith in the Bills' sports science or sports medicine department. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how the delay in the schedule will impact the players? I know that one of the factors which seemed to impact them with the postponed 2020 Titans game was the uncertainty - would it be played, when would it be played, was there a health or exposure risk to the Bills plalyers, etc. I want to see our guys give this their best. So normally the routine is: Saturday: walk-through practice, typically from about 11-12 pm. Then if it's a home game, the players will get treatment as needed, watch film on their own, they all have a bit different routine, some may do a light workout. Time with their families. For a home game, they still meet up at the hotel close by the stadium about 7 pm. They have meetings to go over some last-minute stuff. Then team dinner, sometimes position meetings, chapel for those who want it, then curfew. How is this gonna change with the delay? Also I know for some players - they are very disciplined and regimented in what they eat and when for 24 hrs before the game. 'Zo Alexander talked about his personal regime though I can't find the article now, but he normally followed a keto diet his last years in the league, and he had specific supplements he wanted to take at specific times for 24 hrs before kickoff. Anyone got any info on this?
  5. Just updated on NOAA: M.L.King Day: A 40 percent chance of snow showers before 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 19. Southwest wind between 16 and 18 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Monday Night: Snow showers likely after 7pm. Cloudy, with a low around 13. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Basically, not as warm as 20s - 19 degrees is the high - but like half the wind and no forecast for heavy snow during the game. They would have canceled. The rationale for canceling is the driving ban.
  6. For the record, I wasn't opining about move the game or don't. I do think people charged with public safety have to make decisions about driving bans and so forth based on whether a driving ban is needed to allow road clearance and emergency service to operate. It's only logical that you can't impose a driving ban and then say "oh yeah, except for the 70,000 people going to the Bills Steelers game and the staff supporting that". So once the driving ban is decided upon, the game has to move, that's only logical. I don't think it's fair if someone in my family needs an ambulance and can't get one because the roads are all ***** up with Joe Sixpack and his buddies who slid into other vehicles and blocked the intersections or just snarled up the streets and made snow clearance impossible until the stopped cars get towed, painstakingly car by car. And it may be anecdotal and inaccurate, but it seems as though the "freedom to" crowd is not typically lined up to waive their share of public safety services like EMS, hospitals, police, fire and rescue. Or simply can't get through because all the drivers who were out and about crashed or stalled and blocked roads.
  7. Are you sure about that last? Seems to me I read something about needing special TV cameras for extreme cold conditions - though weather in the low teens might not qualify as that cold, despite the scary wind chill. But yeah, the road conditions are not expected to be bad at all.
  8. I would think they'll have to provide refunds if people can't attend at the new time. They had to move the game as soon as they made the call to institute a driving ban. You can have a State of Emergency as a funding tool for extra resources without a driving ban, but as soon as you put in a driving ban you can't say "Oh - except for you game-going fans" Inverse quality of posting product
  9. I liked you better when you were Iron Maiden Bills** Your posting product degraded when you became Araiza Curse and this new screenname of one of our favorite players is a continued decline. **but that is a low bar
  10. I'm sorry. 😔 Fortunately I checked first to determine that you weren't the one telling folks "where there's a will, there's a way" so you don't deserve any snark.
  11. Not that I've heard and I live in MO. Yesterday the winds were roaring like a freight train. Today "all is calm, all is bright". KC is 6 degrees and snowing lightly, very pretty. Snow is supposed to stop in about 40 minutes and wind is supposed to kick up.
  12. You do realize that while you were riding around in the backs of trucks, military service was compulsory via the draft, and infants schoolchildren and others lined up and stuck out their arms for vaccines with no questions asked and no exceptions except for documented allergies? Because you know, Freedoms. Still haven't answered my questions you little trolly-whole Ah, I getcha. Snow may still be falling though. From NOAA just now: "M.L.King Day: Occasional snow and areas of blowing snow. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 19. Chance of precipitation is 90%." And no worries, I'll put down my stick and stop poking the Troll now. Just for you 🥰
  13. FIFY Oh and while you're at it - how many of the folks on those Viking longships you extoll were thralls (slaves) and debt bondsmen, and had no choice about whether or not they got on the ship? Wind chills gonna be worse on Monday? Thought lesser winds were part of the point to move the game.
  14. I'm older than ***** dirt and you're full of baloney. You still haven't answered my question: "When the Vikings sailed off into the ocean braving the great storm, did they expect the Coasties to set out in the heart of said storm to save their butts after they foundered? Did they expect the rescue swimmer to jump into 30 foot seas to line them into the chopper?" Pity. You gonna be able to reset and come for Monday? C'mon @Simon, get that windshield repaired and GO.
  15. No, storm is supposed to continue through Sunday night: "Snow before 3am, then snow showers likely after 3am. The snow could be heavy at times. Areas of blowing snow. Low around 12. Wind chill values as low as -5. Breezy, with a west wind 21 to 26 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph." You can't declare a state of emergency and tell people "it's a dangerous storm, respect the Emergency Responders by leaving the roads clear for them, Stay Home" and then go "Except for y'all fans going to the Bills game..."
  16. I'm not sure it's bad news. 4:30 pm Monday. Wonder what they're going to do with the players? I suppose they'll get to stay home.
  17. Monday 4:30 pm in Buffalo
  18. Diggs 5 years in Minn 63 games started, 365 receptions, 4623 yds Diggs 4 years in B'lo 65 games started, 445 receptions, 5372 yds. FIFY Brudda from another mudda?
  19. OK. I'm not deaf, you don't need to shout at me. Maybe edit your post to say that? I mean, people reading the thread come upon your post long before they come upon the clarification. Minor nit: Browns: football organization, the Cleveland Browns Brown's: something belonging or pertaining to someone named brown
  20. Why would the Browns have a presser 90 minutes before kickoff? Oh now
  21. When the Vikings sailed off into the ocean braving the great storm, did they expect the Coasties to set out in the heart of said storm to save their butts after they foundered? Did they expect the rescue swimmer to jump into 30 foot seas to line them into the chopper?
  22. Oh, sheesh, even a 2 gallon zippie too big then. This kind of thing, right? You allowed one of them 12x 12s , or two? https://www.amazon.com/Stadium-Approved-12×6×12-Festival-Non-Removable/dp/B07RFBFG4H/ref=sr_1_9?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.mrcLpgV93t2E85ckEy78dRc8XQzPpfWt4gY13nSsZoRZyRAwVs03Yiu5wlaWvUhSj_mwUSEFH-CNdM5tP4XptYT93SjFQs-StkwiL2RNTWs7FebB3siZYYa7JDjrnI_fUBEBiz1hGCkLPQLRNtqlWg.AnUlt4z9pzcPChNsObKsd6511ZXkPvcpNv09rg0fKFk&dib_tag=se&keywords=12x12x6+clear+stadium+bag&qid=1705162384&sr=8-9 You kinda vacuum pack your gear in ziplocks you smash while you suck out the air with a straw, you can get a lot in 12x12x6 tho. We used to have a couple guys here who were Meteoroligists in training or something and who would explain what the different models were showing and whether they agreed or disagreed. I would love to understand what the different models are showing. I suppose, for public consumption, they have to give the worst case scenario because if they don't and then people get caught out, it's there fault
  23. Hey, you don't know, the Dolphins could come out of there alive. I hear being frozen slows your metabolism, revitalizing in some circumstances Patty could get clubbed by a frozen flipper, that's gotta hurt.
  24. 'Lil late for this time, but would this work? https://clear-handbags.com/products/clear-duffel-bag As a separate note, my life changed when I discovered there is such a thing as a 2 gallon ziplock bag 🥰🥰
  25. Picking up @Simon on the way so he can lick your door handles and cough on you, right?
