  1. We never knew that Rosen was a playoff caliber QB, or even an NFL caliber QB. We still don't know that; he was on the Vikes practice squad for a month Dec-Jan when they went to the playoffs. That may technically make him a member of a playoff team, but it would still be a stretch to say that makes him a "playoff QB"
  2. It's a little hard to tell, but in the first game we had Cam Lewis playing nickel for Taron Johnson, and I think we sub'd in Nicholas Morrow at LB on about 28% of the snaps to play base. Spoiler didn't work well, but then, the whole D wasn't working well
  3. I'm so confused. You want us to play 3 LB - where normally we would take the nickel CB, Taron Johnson, off the field But instead, you want to take Damar Hamlin off the field at safety and replace him with who? Taron Johnson, who would be playing out of position? Why is this a good thing?
  4. https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/ravens-praise-steelers-divisional-playoffs-bills-late-for-work Welp, Then. My personal "take" is that the Steelers spirits were broken long before they took the field against the Ravens. 4 straight losses to playoff teams, especially featuring 3 games in what? 11 days? will do that when your team lose faith that their QB can play well enough to lead them to victory against the league's better teams (Eagles, Ravens, Chiefs, Bengals) -------------- Giants, Steelers (see above) Texans, Browns
  5. I mean, we have similarly ignorant fans. On the Samuel TD, Surtain was burned by Joe Brady's brain.
  6. We carry on a tradition our Catholic neighbor started, of lighting both sides of our street with votives on Christmas eve to light the way for the Christ Child. Just thinking that LA needs less flame, not more
  7. Not that I don't have the people of LA in my thoughts. We have relatives and friends living in that area. But I got to say, lighting candles for those affected by out of control fires....just doesn't strike the right note for me.
  8. Sooo was watching Sean Payton's presser. He said he liked where they were at halftime. On the one hand, fair enough - they opened with a good drive, they had held the Bills to a FG and forced a punt. One score game, 7 to 10. They had more passing yards than we did, 117 to 69 But the Bills had controlled the TOP 19:40 to 10:20; controlled the rush game 128 yds to 44 yds; and more 1st downs 13 to 9; 62.5% vs 40% 3rd down efficiency They weren't looking good. The game wasn't as close as the score would indicate.
  9. Have we had these from Baldy yet? "Trench Warriors!"
  10. I guess 3 points is obsolete and 1.5 points is average, but it sounds as though they customize it now! SoFi is 0 homefield advantage https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6048081/2025/01/10/nfl-home-field-advantage-point-spread/ (not sure if that's paywalled or not) It mentions KC and Seattle are closer to 2 points and I would imagine Buffalo would have to be up there
  11. Sounds like Josh gave McDermott heart palpitations on that play
  12. As you all know I'm not a betting maven but since Buffalo has a home-field advantage isn't -1.5 either calling it a push or even giving the Ravens a slight edge (think they give us -3 for homefield these days?)
  13. Nice story, but I think we at least need to look at the chance the Poe-Birds improvement in passing D the last few games has to do with who they were playing: -the Eagles (they pretty much stifled their passing game, and lost) bye -the Giants (QB by Tommy DeVito and Tim Boyle) -the Steelers (they don't believe in Santa Claus or Russell Wilson any more) -the Texans (Nico Collins and who? at WR) -the Browns (Bailey Zappe at QB) playoffs -the Steelers If they "flipped the last few games" playing the Bengals and the Chiefs and the Lions, that would be impressive. The other thing to remember is that in (I think) all but one of the Ravens wins, they get out early and take a nice lead into halftime. So the other team is chasing them and trying to pass all over the place.
  14. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Harbaugh and Co know this is the best Ravens team they've had offensively since like 2019. They lost the conference last season and have no intention to go quietly this season. On paper, they (3,1;9;10) are a better team than the Bills in every category but offensive points scored (2,10;11;17). Fortunately football games are played on fields on Sunday, not on paper. So we'll see. I think Ray Davis will be out this week.
  15. In Dion Dawkin's shirtless locker interview, he was asked how you shut down Nick Bonitto and he smiled and said "Dion Dawkins". He said something about "I'm not an all-Pro or a 2nd team all-Pro, but to this team I'm an all-Pro." I think the Bills team took notes and kept receipts
  16. It always sounds like “making excuses” but the fact is, a middle defense of Bernard, Milano and Johnson is a different level of play than Spector, Williams, and Lewis. Hopefully everyone came out of the game OK and Cam Lewis is OK
  17. That’s pretty much what Josh said happen “he told me to stop yelling”
  18. As I type, I’ve been listening to Collinsworth drone on about how Daniels players like Lamar Jackson Make it Stop
  19. I could be wrong, but even though it's improved during the season I don't think that Baltimore has the defense that the Broncos do, overall. Ravens have a bit better run D (3.6 vs 3.8 Y/R) but the Broncos have stood up to more attempts.
  20. I sort of wondered if the pro bowl snubs put a bit of ***** in their grits.
  21. Drones. https://www.cnn.com/2025/01/10/us/super-scooper-drone-collision-la-fire-canada-hnk-intl/index.html
  22. And yet
  23. With the help of DPI on an underthrown moonball to Jeudy. Getting in the way of the receiver coming back from the ball will ***** the DB every time. Result was 28 yards on a 3rd and 10 and a 1st down at the Buffalo 17 yd line.
