  1. I really like Nico Collins from what I've seen. It could go the other way - Diggs could "return to the feast" with a true #1 WR ahead of him taking off the heat
  2. Well....they do say "Chargers gonna Charger". I don't see it happening, but I didn't see Beane trading Diggs for the equivalent of a 3rd round pick, either.
  3. I don't think the Texans took on $19M of which $18.5 is fully guaranteed because "every other GM" thought he was a cancer On the other hand, a guy who is turning 31 and is due $19M ($18.5M guaranteed) this season and $18M and $19M the next two seasons, has limited trade value.
  4. Thank you! I really appreciate you putting this up there.
  5. We've had this discussion before. Adding a 2025 2nd rounder to our draft picks is no where near enough offer to move from #28 to #6. Edit: Virgil just posted Draftek's pick trade value chart. While none of these trade value charts 100% pass muster as a guide to what actually happens, please look at it and do some maths on what it would actually take us to move up, in addition to a "willing buyer"
  6. I didn't realize it was Minnesota's 2nd round pick. That makes me feel a bit more positive.
  7. Yes, I count 2025. The cap is a multidimensional game where one dimension is time, and Beane has shown in the past he's willing to take a near-term hit for long term cap gains. I don't think Diggs did anything close to "Antonio Brown Crazy" to the extent we know now, but I think it's worth revisiting the start of the AB drama in Pittsburgh https://ftw.usatoday.com/2019/01/nfl-steelers-antonio-brown-ben-roethlisberger-trade-beef-history Big Ben then called AB out on causing a distraction: AB later opined he made Big Ben as a QB and said something eerily similar to Diggs recent tweet: Now in this case, Diggs is going to a team with a legitimate, very very promising young passer. So his future looks bright. And Allen doesn't call out teammates publicly. But there are more similarities here than I initially thought.
  8. Age and $19M a year with similar for the rest of his contract.
  9. That's pretty much where I am, though clearing the cap space and getting *something* raises my grade.
  10. I admit I was surprised by the trade. I stand by my take that @JohnCMark_ is a troll account and not, in fact, a beat reporter for the Miami Dolphins. If you want to "expose" that, provide evidence to the contrary. He was right that we traded Diggs, and right about Houston interest (busted clock, right 2x day), but unfortunately quite wrong about the compensation. I'm sure the Bills were interested in the Texans 2nd round pick, but according to Schefter that is not at all what they got - https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39866413/sources-bills-finalizing-trade-star-wr-stefon-diggs-texans They got a #2 pick from 2025, which is likely to be lower IMHO. It doesn't bother me to be wrong, or to own it when I am, but I don't think this is quite the "flex" you appear to believe it to be. "Who is this clown" by H2o still appears to hold.
  11. Um, that was a lot less cryptic than many of his other messages. It reads more like "you're about to do that experiment" vs. his earlier stuff.
  12. I mean, he pretty much did so in 2018 with a rookie QB and 2019 with a developing QB.
  13. True grades are always seen in hindsight, but I give it a "D" at present. The compensation is inadequate IMO. On the other hand, we take on a bit more dead cap and clear a hunk of cap space next season.
  14. That's pretty much where I am, but none of us know details of what's gone on or going on "behind the scenes" at One Bills Drive.
  15. Did NOT see this coming. Says it's for a 2025 2nd round pick, which if I understand the draft value pundits, is considered to be de-valued by a round (eg equivalent to a 3rd round pick this season) I don't think it's enough compensation, but we'll see. I would predict him to do a Jerry Hughes - play well and have a resurgence this season, then fall off a cliff.
  16. That was certainly my belief. I think the Bills "design" scrambles in the same sense that they "design" scramble drill routes - the WR have instructions they execute after the QB is flushed out of the pocket, in order to be "QB friendly", the OLmen have instructions on how to continue to block in the same circumstances. But they aren't exactly "designed plays".
  17. Well, for one thing, at the point where Dorsey was fired on November 14th, the Bills pretty much had to win all but 1 of their remaining games to make the playoffs. I think that McDermott's risk-tolerance for Josh running changes depending on how much is on the line. Can you explain what "designed runs and scrambles" means to you? Scrambles, to my understanding, are by definition when the structure of the play breaks down and the QB chooses to run.
  18. Concur. I just came here to type this: somehow it hadn't registered with me that he was just a few months into his 30th year when he retired at halftime. I thought he was older.
  19. Terrible news. RIP.
  20. Here is the full text of your post to which I responded. "It'd be nice if we'd draft a WR late in round 2 about where our 60th pick is this year, that would put up 577 yards and 4 TDs in the second half of his rookie year. At that rate he'll be as productive as Dogs (sic) has been for us." LIterally. "second half of his rookie year" No mention of playoffs.
  21. Be helpful if you could provide some examples of what you're talking about. The actual turnovers from actually watching the game say sometimes he's the problem; sometimes he and the rest of the team compensate, sometimes they don't. Sometimes the turnovers don't matter (end of half) or aren't his fault
  22. Wait, are you saying Dallas traffic news reported someone at the hospital, but now that Rice is involved we don't know whether or not there were injuries?
  23. Wait, who said that? We should never have traded Lamonica(tm)
