  1. You will make it. I am sorry for what you are going through.
  2. I hope you are right. This is the Bills year.
  3. Good idea, but I am worried about it. A player can still acquire the virus by simply walking through an inected area where there are still aerosolized droplets or droplets on a surface. And the minute someone gets it, there will be a scandal in the NFL with all kinds of people and politicians condemning them. Bad publicity for the NFL. And I can't see our governor, Gavin Newsom of California, allowing any NFL games in the state. The games will also inspire fans to gather at a person's house, violating social distancing. I cannot see it happening.
  4. The NFL will take an all or nothing approach. Either all stadiums will allow fans, or none will. You cannot give certain teams an advantage. But, as I said earlier, if no fans are allowed, neither will teams be. There will be no games until a vaccine is discovered, or cure is discovered along with rapid testing. Except there was a huge outbreak of sailors with COVID-19 on a US military ship in Guam recently: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/coronavirus-outbreak-diverts-navy-aircraft-carrier-guam-all-5-000-n1169726
  5. Anyone who relies on a site like this or a comments section from a news article is nuts. As I said earlier, if fans are not allowed for safety reasons, neither will players. 22 men on the field and , plus 7 officials, plus packed sidelines full of other players, trainers, coaches, TV personnel, etc. will be too much.
  6. There will be no crowded events until a vaccine is developed or there is an effective therapy for it with widespread instant testing available.
  7. There is no way to social distance with football. 22 men on the field, plus sidelnes packed with players, coaches, trainers, hydration techs, TV personnel, etc. I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but I am pretty sure there won't be a season this fall. Too many governors do not want to lift shelter-in-place orders for fear of an upsurge of infections, which would happen. There probably won't be any school either. That brings many questions: will there be a draft in 2021, and in what order for the teams? Do players get credited for a season on their contracts? How do you know you have immunity? It will not just disappear until and unless a vaccine is developed. Maybe there will be effective treatments by then, but that is very uncertain.
  8. There is no evidence that a recovery from COVID-19 confers immunity. AFAIK, unless you are undergoing chemotherapy currently, you are not immuno-comprimised. I might be wrong. I have thyroid cancer and was undergoing external beam radiation, but the doctors said I was not considered immuno-compromised, so I could go ahead and get the pneumonia and Shingles vaccines. BTW, if you are not immuno-comprimised, talk to your doctor; you should begin the Shingrex sequence if you have ever had chickenpox (almost all people age 50 and older have had chickeknpox as children), since you are eligible at 50. Shingles is a horrible disease. If you haven't had chickenpox, get the varicella zoster test to make sure, then talk to your doctor about getting the varicella vaccine for chickenpox.
  9. Then the Bills will get to play SF at a neutral site!
  10. If they allow fans. In California, public officials are starting to say there will no fans or even sports allowed until Thanksgiving, at the earliest.
  11. One of the greatest games ever. I was just a kid, and remember having to go to bed, since it was 11 PM on a Thursday night, but still listening to it by radio in bed. The Bills were behind, but came back to win! This was the last game before the strike, and the Bills were 2-0. SI had predicted they would win the SB that year. I was disappointed they finished 4-5 and out of the expanded playoffs, and I blamed it on the strike. Please, do not let this happen this year. The Bills are predicted to go deep into the playoffs this season. Do not let COVID-19 cancel the season..
  12. Ther Bills lost to Denver 28-14 in Week 2: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/198909180buf.htm
  13. Denver pretty much handled the Browns that year 37-21. You must mean 1986 when they played them, tying them with "the Drive" for a last minute TD that led them to win in OT.
  14. That would mess up the XFL schedule. And NCAA Men's Basketball would not like it.
  15. I am not sure if Alex Smith would accept a backup role.
  16. When I used to live in Philadelphia in the oughts, I bought a Terrell Owens jersey at Sports Authority for $1 on clearance after he was released from the Eagles. I should have kept it for when he came to Buffalo, lol.
  17. Because COVID-19 is much more contagious and can spread while a person is asymptomatic. Plus it is more likely to land you in a hospital, and the sheer numbers would overwhelm the system. Look how many people are dying from this every day in NYC.
  18. No they would not tank. Belichick wants to prove he can win without Brady, and tanking would show just the opposite.
  19. You mean Washington over Miami in the strike-shortened 1982 season? San Francisco beat Cincinnati in the SB the year before.
  20. The CBA (Chinese Basketball Association) will start in April. If they can start that fast, so can the US leagues. I expect the NBA and NHL to return in June or July.
  21. In NV and CA, pot dispensaries are open, as they were deemed essential by their states since patients need marijuana for medical reasons. Bars can remain open too, as long as they are attached to a restaurant or 50% or more of their business is food, but people are not allowed to dine in the bar or restaurant at all. Takeout or delivery only. I don't think food trucks are allowed to be open, but may are violating the rule.
  22. Is the Bills management (Beane, McDermott, etc.) working at home? Are they considered an essential business? I know here in the San Francisco Bay Area, they would be prohibited from going to work at the stadium as they would be considered a non-essential business. We are all under home lockdown here until at least April 7, by order of the governor. Not sure if NY has the same rule. https://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/Coronavirus-updates-Bay-Area-Contra-Costa-death-15145370.php "March 20, 10:47 a.m.: San Jose Police Chief Eddie Garcia told reporters Friday that 56 warnings were issued to businesses in the city for remaining open despite not being classified as essential during the shelter-in-place orders. Garcia said all 56 businesses, including gyms, barbershops and a smoke shop, complied with officers and shut down. "Those of you that know me, know we aren't going to stay educational for long," Garcia said, suggesting that warnings will give way to more official actions. The chief said "criminal citations, business license sanctions and health code violations" would be used against businesses who had previously been issued warnings should they re-open."
  23. The XFL has now officially canceled their season for 2020:
  24. https://www.thestreet.com/politics/what-is-a-furlough-14832476 "A furloughed employee may also take unemployment benefits for their time without pay. Since unemployment is paid by states, not the federal government, it will not suffer a budgetary lapse in the case of a federal government shutdown."
  25. Yes, happens all the time when workers know they are being recalled. I don't even think they are required to have to look for work either. They can collect unemployment either way.
