Happy 61st Birthday Jimbo!
First Round Bust replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jimbo also scored big off the field marrying a beautiful lady on the inside and outside (Jill from Attica) I think she has brought God, strength, and a lot of love and happiness into his post-football life... -
excellent research but your spending cash that we really dont have, for starters I prefer focus on our own FAs esp the RFA - Ike B, Isiah WR, Wallace CB, punter. I would also extend Hyde FA 2022 for 1 year and determine if I can sign Josh to that big extension this season or not, sooner the better as it only goes up every year for QBs and we save millions during a 6-7 year extension for Josh Its a quality year for tackles so I can see us dropping from pick 30 into early second round to get more mid-round picks like a 4th that we dont have currently so we can grab a sleeper TE: I like Tony Poljan who transfer from 1. playing qb to TE 2. to UVA from Cent Mich - kid is smart, 6-7 and 265 - has arm length and body to run block and to shield defenders to make short-yardage or red zone catches while covered..has the body of Gronk more or less https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/tony-poljan-1.html

Mcshay Mock has Najee Harris to Buffalo

would have to give him at least 15-20 carries per game and some targets to justify a pick at that position (20-25-30% of the offense) would have to cut Singletary or Moss - young-cheap-3rd recent picks - not likely a vet replacement for TJ (game day inactive) is more likely rather than a high draft choice -
the good news is that Brady is in the other conference, for at least 1 more season, hope he stays there - no state tax, sun, winning SB, etc we got to beat Brady junior in KC and loosing twice to them this season has to be the best blueprint I would love for the Bills to beat the Bucs in the SB on a last second field goal and then Brady announces retirement during post-game celebration that would be the slaying of the dragon

the NFL Man of Year and face of the franchise on the move ? not likely, more like off-season fodder being recycled ? More interested in the Watson-Hou issue which s on the front burner...signed the big extension less than a year ago with a NTC clause, now wants out cuz he wanted input-status of the front office hirings, and based on what went down with Obrien trading Hopkins and picks galore...so the team is within its legal rights to ignore the request, but ultimately will Watson play hardball and skip OTAs/virtual meetings/workouts...becoming a big players league like the NBA ?

great info, thanks for sharing...about the only stat the Bills could improve punt coverage, with a gross of 50.8 and net 44...speaks to out-kicking coverage and or giving up 1-2 long returns which skews the stats, along with the least amt of punts helps amplify the 1-2 big returns...overall a solid year and the fake against the Pats (rated #1) was a highlight as well as our punter leading the league with gross average...rookie kicker also had an above average year despite some misses in the 40-50 rage improved as year progressed...his highlight was the 50+ multiple kicks made in the Ariz road game as well as another 50+ (playoff record for a rookie) WC card game against Colts.

That Zay Jones, Kelvin Benjamin, Robert Foster, Charles Clay contingent sent fear throughout the league...that league was the CFL but still lets see...McDee made Zay Jones a number two pick after trading out of pick 10 which became Mahomes...Benjamin was a Beane trade of a bust that cost us a round 3 pick...Foster was an undrafted free agent so anything he gave us was a plus..Clay was a huge FA signing where we grossly overpaid for his lack of production. More misses than hits but current management team has fingerprints on the CFL talent mentioned above...

LB on 1965 Bills AFL champions - 4 years with Bills as player took chiefs and browns into playoffs for several years, not sure if he was assistant with us at some point son Brian became OC for jets, sea now jax pass coord rest in peace Marty, we know you will be watching on Sundays... -
Josh first pass ever as a Bill...straight back to pass, bomb down the left sideline, ball was in the air 65 yards, incomplete to Foster...he had me after the that, not to mention all the moves running around-escaping the 3-4th stringers... pre-season home game Carolina started-played entire second half

i feel your pain citizen - NFL has the longest off-season of all the major sports and for good reason almost 6 months - yes there are cuts, free agency, the draft and the salary cap drama...but what I would like to see is a 4 game off-season development league over the course of 6 weeks with a two week training camp, games with a running clock and only time-outs in the second-half. 10 minute half-time games over in 90 minutes. each nfl team would have a roster of 44 - mostly futures contracts, guys on the practice squad and vets who opt in (would have a max of 2 per team) could make after the draft to include undrafted free agents instead of draft picks who could opt in. So two guys per position with an addition for the punter and kicker coaches would be the assistants (not coordinators) one position coach to the be HC and a few assistants. send it out for networks to bid on - not likely to happen but given the demand for NFL or a NFL-affiliated product and no development or minor league system I wouldnt mind seeing Christian Wade, Duke Willliams and David Webb or some of the guys from the practice squad go against other teams for a few weeks ?

it was a great game plan by Bucs...the O and D lines were terrific...Coach Arians put it into the hands of his coords and they delivered: the strong run and short passes with some screens were outstanding...the long ball was thrown very effectively to get PI calls moreso than the big play. 145 yards rushing and 201 passing - no garbage-time stats to skew the analysis: fournette had 16 carries for 89 yards long was 27 and ronald jones had 12 for 61 long was 16 but look at the passing game gronk led them with 7 targets - led with 6 catches and led with 67 yards and led with 2 TDs next was fournette with 4 catches for 46 yards (brown was second in targets with 6) Evans had one catch for 31 - one target and Godwin had 2 catches for 9 - 4 targets 5 total targets for the star WRs the entire Super Bowl !?!?! Brown (3rd receiver) did have 5 catches with 6 targets I hope Daboll is watching this over and over to beat the blitzes KC killed us with.

Daboll wins AP NFL assistant Coach of the Year

yeah like better line blocking and recognizing the blitzes -
the hard part of being a GM Lets say the Bills have 20-25M in cap space which reflects it being bumped-up to 185M and some vets are cut or re-structured: 5M has to be budgeted to sign the 2021 draft picks 1.5M goes to the practice squad salaries to carry them over the entire 2021 season 2-3M Beane keeps as annual insurance-carryover per usual now the hidden costs - the RFAs: Ike B (LG) - only Dawkins, Morse and Ford are under contract currently Levi - the other corner - Josh Norman is gone so its Levi and Dane Jackson (and likely a high draft pick) Corey B - led NFL in punt avg and there are 11 UFA punter/potential openings in 2021 backup qb - Barkley is UFA last season 2,25M versus Davis Webb who is RFA - do the math on those 4 positions and either you pay them or risk poach by the teams that have silly cap space, and the Bills have more holes than the current UFA (Milano, Williams, Mongo). So likely-approx half the available cap will taken up by the above Then we can turn to the UFA market and bargain shop....or do you extend Josh this season...the earlier the better as it saves over the long-run

Is The Answer @ DE Already On The Team?
First Round Bust replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
addison versus shaq is a valid argument...add the fact that Addison's two former DCs are the Bills head coach, current D-line coach ( who likley wooda replace Leslie Frazier as our DC he had gotten Texans job) and therein lies my conspiracy inside a hypothesis wrapped in an opinion...they likely thought several years of 10+ sacks or near there was going to continue...he had the best play on Murray during the Hail Murray...blame the secondary yeah but I say Addison shoulda made that damn play....youth versus age and we lost that one -
Stefon Diggs on Radio Row 2/4
First Round Bust replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
led league in targets so life is good, so what if we adopt more a diverse O approach; run more effectively and include the TEs more in the O game plan ? Will Diggs still be a happy camper...I say yes but I dont want any pouting either -
10M extra helps when you are 6M in the hole...Have to save 5M for the draft and 1.5M for the practice squad as well. I am in cut mode on the DL - we spent the most of any team last season on DL FAs and did not get the payback Star should return as well, should help the run D and improve Edmunds tackle rate - he and Milano had a lot of missed tackles, so I cut Butler and Jefferson and have Addison take a pay cut as well as I cut Brown at WR and Lee Smith. Zimmer played decent as a backup and we also have Phillips so we got some vet depth already. That gives us approx 25M of cap space; enough to sign Feliciano - Ford will play RT so I let Williams play the market and see if numbers work or not.

LOL...the Fish naming CO-offensive coordinators...
First Round Bust replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
more teams moving to a running game and passing game coordinator....pros and cons...someone has to call the play and I can see debate-friction as to when to call what kind of play...like on 4th and 2 and you call a time-out you cant have those 2 guys arguing over the play call... -
Bass onside kicks in playoffs

the kid passed the test for the most part, making several 50+ yard kicks in Arizona and that 52 yarder against the Colts in WC game, no way House Money was going to make those...only going to get better and more consistent about those misses from the past year. great pick
