  1. went to a pre-season game three years ago, which was Josh Allen debut against Panthers, he started and played entire second half and showed everybody that great arm and moves while running for his life against 3-4-5th stringers. so that was entertaining as well as seeing and hearing his passes hit his receivers...

I bought the best tickets as low as I could by the tunnel where the team enter-exit the field and the kids loved it when we moved down to the wall by the first row and field and saw all the players up close,  you wont get better seats at the lowest prices, this is the value of preseason esp good for the kids to see things up close as compared to regular season esp higher prices this season

I was trying to remember all the QBs who started for our team has had since Jim Kelly and before Josh Allen. The list was even longer than I thought, the number in parenthesis is the number of games started by said QB. Not far off from a QB per year since. Crazy and glad the desolation is over.

  4. a non-issue becomes an issue for others...Cole doesnt like the fact that he has to be tested, wear a mask, have protocols applied, etc...he is a bit out of his realm when complaining about those vaccinated having issues when the varinat d strain is running rampant amongst the non-vaccinated...interesting to see what he does and in turn what the org does when training camp starts...that is all I have to say about that

  5. '71 was so long ago, Dennis Shaw was the Bills qb throwing to Marlin Brisoce and Haven Moses with James Harris as backup qb...and the Bills radio crew would often say that OJ would make a great WR...Bucks were led by the Big O and that Lew Alcindor guy plus Bobby Dandridge...coached by Larry Costello...memories of childhood

  6. wow - I have to say that Larry Felser and Van were-are the best in Buffalo sports coverage ever...Azar and Kilgore (Clip Smith, Chuck Healey) from back in the day.. pls.pass along a few Felser highlights-insights when-if you can...I loved his Friday NFL picks in the evening news...the score with a sentence for each NFL game....the BN and BEN Friday football preview for college and pro was very, very good and very comprehensive back in the day...

  7. good contrast between RJ and Ted...

Ted Darling is my all-time favorite...was a product of Hockey Night In Canada (HNIC) experience before becoming the voice of the Sabres, HNIC announcers past and present are the gold standard; knowledgeable with a pro balance of passion for the game and neutrality, as in minimal homer-ism (for the most part - Leafs games may be the exception).it may be the Canadian personality/DNA, or middle-age maturity that make the games more palatable compared to say NBC games (that gawd that run is over) or other broadcasters other than our Sabres...

Sure it's a hockey town..  but they're still more fans of the Buffalo Bills than the Buffalo sabers

It's just as much of a football town if not more.. doesn't have to be just one or the other

But if you asked 200,000 people in Buffalo(actual city).. you'll get a lot more people who are interested in the bills than the sabres..

The sabers have a hardcore following since 1970. The bills since 1960.. and there are more Buffalo Bills fans

depends on your perspective - the true fan goes to games wouldnt you say ? .but there are over 80 hockey games per year compared to 17 football games - so the math based on 100% capacity is 800k versus 560k for sellouts in favor of Sabres...you have to include Ontario as well for hockey which makes up approx 15-20 percent of the Sabres STH base, not sure the Bills match this but there are some no doubt..the fans of the 1960s are dieing off sad to say and I know and remember quite a few including STH...the loyalty, passion and money-spending ebbs and flows with the cycles of winning and loosing...I think the best numbers would be counted during respective championship victory parades in the city of Buffalo...as an ex-pat always on mind for planning purposes...hope to see you there
