  1. zach ertz..submit reply...3...2....1...boom
  2. totally agree..glad he could walk away from this on his terms...and no more concussions ! he was high character man, 6-6 sort of playing out of position, as he played tackle at Mizzou, he did a great job of pulling to the edge to lead the off-tackle plays and sweeps...was a bit over-powered due to his lean and long frame by bull tackles as center was not his true calling... best to Mitch in his new chapter of life...a true Buffalo Bill
  3. he would have to finish the rest of his career as a Bill and make some pro bowl teams and win a ring or two... moreover... I wish he would win NFL Man Of The Year...as he is consistently the Bills candidate for very good reason, and he also lives in city and is often at Sabres games. I know of no other Bill that lives in city...corect if I am wrong here...(Jerry Hughes used to live in the city as well back in the day - add past Bills that used to live in the city if you know- can)
  4. well how does the dolphins 747 land and takeoff at BUF then - check the video on youtube -
  5. BUF airport can accomodate 747s - Dolphins Atlas Air 747 shown below along with some others https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=747+plane+buffalo Issue really lies with management, the owner, Mr Eifficient-Economic-Etc making the decision - players who did complain likely heard about other teams having better benefits and want the same... Related Note: FWIW...Todays Athletic had NHL player agents review of NHL orgs: Sabres owner voted second worst - all that loosing...they are a mess..the owner is in left-field...and..no votes at all for Sabres for best org...most other teams got at least one (1) freaking vote... (Carolina owner voted the worst due to constant meddling-micro-manager)
  6. my visits unfortunately have been spasmodic and mostly losses: 70s - OJ and Braxton each run for 100 yards each and the Bills get freaking shut-out - 17-0..including first and goal at the 1 and do not score right in front of us in the end zone seats...sigh... 2000s - first game of the post-Kelly era starts with a loss to the Vikes first ever game for Josh - pre-season opener vs Panthers - starts second half with and audible and throws the ball 65 yards down the left sideline- incomplete - for all this greatness the long-ball with some touch-loft has not been in his skills set..but he scrabled around the 2-3-4-5 stringers like he should be on Dancing with the Stars. Nov 1 Hall of Fame running backs game - Wash and Peterson vs Bills and Gore - we won one that I witnessed..a met alumni autographs session: Bruce, Norwood and Ritcher, Bruce was with family and dressed like it was a North Pole expedition as my friends from Wash make the pilgrimage with me and state that was the coldest 40 degrees they never want to remember...cloudy and windy all game.. I did some road games in Balt and DC over the years as well...and Rockplie games in my misspent youth... 1-1-1 (tie last game ever at the War Memorial)
  7. no, too risky too expensive, we likely have the same production and issue/risk with Von already, provided he takes a pay cut... But if Von doesnt take the pay cut and gets released, and they dont get Miles Garrett in a trade, then we are down to considering options like this.. But if we cut Von we cant spend the cap savings until June (post June designation - spreads the $15M dead cap over 2 seasons) , there will be more cuts like Bosa coming... in other words,,,stay tuned... while March 12 is the first day of new NFL year..its the start not the end
  8. scenario - trade Elam to a man intensive D like the Browns for a 6th next year or 7th this year just to dump the salary and then consider a vet min offer to D Jackson as backup with incentives for the amount of playing time in the event of injury to a starter..perhaps...
  9. 328 for Shula and 273 for Reid means 55 tie and 56 for the lead....would take another 4-5 years at least...maybe more as the AFC West is getting better...Reid is 66 will be 67 next month..so he would have to coach into his 70s...if they keep winning big and deep he could ride Mahomes as Bill Beli did with TB12 until the GOAT was no more...
  10. is he the Andy Reid replacement ?
  11. so Beane watched this, went to Mcdonalds and ordered a punter...
  12. went to the game as my friends parents were sick...we were 11 year-olds...just us two getting dropped-off and picked-up...that doesnt happen today Back then it was the norm for kids to do that as well wait and sleep in the entrance lobby of the Aud to get Sabres tickets as well as concert tickets without adult supervision. Back to the game...a tie...after every quarter...adults tearing up the seats, grass, and goldposts...the good ole daze of my misspent youth...of which Buffalo sports was a big part and still are today...thanks for walk down memory lane
  13. would be an impressive teacher - adjunct professor capable NFL 101 - Defense, The Media, and my career as a Jet NFL 202 - The History of Long Snapping LAW 303 - Its Not Cheating Until You Get Caught Thesis - Can You Win Wihout a Franchise QB Elective - Dating women 1/3 your age
  14. sub optimal schedule this Sunday..red zone reservaton works best
  15. bye week chatter...cuz barnyard animals need to fed: There could more coaching changes than usual ...am impressed with the Bills new coordinators who are young-talented-productive and are praised for their abiliities as far as relating to younger players... so... are they head coaching candidates ? this year or next ?? if so... who would replace them...who is our qb coach...that seems to be path to OC....and who would be next man up for D coord either this year or next... I will hang-up and listen...
  16. yeah the tables were rigged to break easily..so what...give the guys credit for coming out of the studio and into the 716 which a big credit and homage to the Mafia who represented well as usual. Pregame shows are quite boring, the CBS crew felt the vibe and had some genuine enthusiasm and fun Give Air Burleson credit for some lift and hangtime and 67 year old coach Cowher props for the drops. He may have done 1 more table jump than most Bills fans A good time was had by all, well done everybody
  17. Edwards...Bishop...Cine...please...because this is not the same Micah who we know and love and will be 34 in two months...no training camp or practices as well...and most importantly his neck-cervical injury is significant that there is no way we want him to stick his upper body into D Henry and other runners going full-speed into our secondary...safety first...
  18. rationale for this call: 1. angle - bad angle by ref 2. more important - point of emphasis - at the beginning of every season refs are told are told at every level certain point of emphasis, esp player safety, to focus on and it becomes a trigger to make a call on something borderline or that they think they see that they normally would not call....
  19. most are O coaches; Harbaugh was ST (as was Cowher)....like Bills fans a lot of Steeler fans are polarized about their head coach...Tomlin has won a ring and makes the playoffs no matter the qb, but depsite the recent contract extension has not been winning playoff games...McD has the qb, but the obstacle has been KC thanks to no organic pass rush
  20. 18 game schedule with 2 bye weeks and super bowl played during the Dead Presidents day holiday weekend (Sunday) Players drafted during current season are exempt from being cut and can be placed on practice squad for entire year for development purposes without loss to other teams, protects-justifies the scouting and development process. If called-up from PS then can exposed to waivers and other teams, etc. NFL sponsorhip of Punt Pass Kick kids compeition during spring and summer with events held before pre-season games which will have a day-long kids and family them and entertainment (NFL alumni, on-field activities, autographs, etc) NFL sponsorship of a national flag football league at various age levels to include kids and adul league with ex-jocks-coaches running coaching seminars and coach clinics with championship games held during the weekend between conference championship game and super bowl.
  21. well said...I just wish a tribute banner to the Braves would be hung from our arena that pays homage to McAdoo, Randy Smith and Coach Jack Ramsey...there are fond memories of fanastic games against the Lakers and Celtics in the old Aud, with Van Miller doing PxP on Tues and Sat nites, then doing post-game, the hustling back to WBEN TV studio to do his 11 PM sports segment..my personal highlight was a DH with the Globetrotters (with Meadlowlark Lemon and Curly Neal) going first then the Braves beating the Pistons and Buffalo Bob Lanier with several of my close childhood friends totally loving it...we also played basketball in suburban Buffalo all winter ling, dribbling the ball no higher than our knee due to the cold and snow and playing at nite under flood-lights, if we werent playing hockey on frozen ponds or tackle football in the snowy street...mom put newspapers on the kitchen floor so we could eat our bologna sandwhiches and kraft macaroni and cheese without taking our boots or skates off...
  22. the Vikes were great in the 70s...under coach Bud Grant..outdoor Metropolitan Stadium in the cold was its own version of frozen tundra..the pre-Tarkenton days of Joe Kapp (another CFL icon like Grant) throwing to Gene Washington handing to Dave Osborne and Bill Brown as RBs behind Tingelhoff and Ron Yary..and the D-line..purple people eaters...was the best in the biz - Page-Eller-Marshall-Larsen-Sutherland..with Dennis Winston at LB and Paul Krause (iNFL all-time nterceptions leader) https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/V/VincTr00.htm - looking for a Bill..scroll down to 51 - Troy Vincent..his last 2 washed-up years with the Bills had 5 picks...sigh...
  23. one way to get my non-sportsfan sister to allow me to watch hockey on the family Maganvox parlor TV was to tell her that Peter Puck was going to be on during the intermission...it was between periods 1-2 and she would think it was every intermission...it worked for awhile
