I was at that game too, 1979 was when the Knox era started kicking in and you knew the Bills were back. In 2024, after a 4 - 12 followed by a 7 - 9 seasons the fire evrybody chant would have been loud - 1980 (one of my favorite teams) went to the playoff. Jerry Butler, tragic injuries ended what would have been a HOF career plus he had lots of class and character. Both clutch WRs!

What if JA had the 90's offensive line, Thurmon Thomas , Bruce Smith, Tally and Bennet on Defense - you know the saying about "if." Statistics are great and fans love them, bottom line Reed was a true Buffalo guy and performed in the clutch! You want statistics fine - many of you live by them - I want winners; Andre was a winner!

Seeing your screen name reminded me of Bob Chandler, I would put him up against Diggs too. The more I think about it, Diggs was an above average WR, nothing more!

He would go over the middle, catch, get hit, hold on to the ball or break a short pass into a long gain TD. He came through not only in the playoffs but regular season too, regardless who the QB was. I have two aquaintances that worked for Bills 1985 through 2000; no one worked harder on his own time then Andre and the whole organization loved him as a person.

Okay, let me clarify, Diggs is not going to the HOF!! Hope that clears up my failure at clarity.

Andre Reed was a 5th round pick out "KUTZTOWN" college, not exactly an NFL factory, came to Buffalo, played his heart out; Diggs got run out of Minnesota! In 10 - 15 years Diggs is going to wake up (grow up) and ask himself WTF did I do, I blew it. My concession to you is he could have been a HOFer and no one, players, coaches or the mean posters on TBD stood in the way of this, Diggs himself did!

If our paths ever cross, please share what you are smoking! Andre Reed HOF - Diggs no HOF, you can opine with emotion but those of us who watched both play know! I would too, including Frank Lewis from the Chuck Knox era.

Not even close to Andre Reed, BTW he is the HOF, the closest Diggs will get is he visits as a customer and fan. I don't dispute he made significant contributions to the Bills success during his time here, but many seem to let emotion cloud reality.

You are absolutely right, NFL is sloppy and undisciplined throughout September, I remember when they had six pre season games. Not saying go back to that but training camps need to get more focused than they are.

Watching the NFL in Souther California's weird (except Oakland), NFL has too much competition from outdoor activities and the ocean. Crowds are not into it the way Bills fans are and often seem bored. In 1985 I went to a Rams game with Eric Dickerson playing for the Rams, he was having a great year and game and the best you get out those in attendance was clapping while in seats, weird place! Hell, Bills fans go wild when a reserve running back runs for a first down!
