With that kind of scoring really scewed toward QBs I would be good to get a GOOD QB early. It might have been better to take McNabb or Culpepper in that spot. Opinions?

Like everyone else is staying we really need to know the scoring system and if this is a keeper league or not. Sometimes that matters. How many teams are in the league? What are the starting positions, ie. how many RBs do you start? If Manning is gone there is no other QB or WR worth taking at this point. You need to take a RB. Now which one is the real kicker. I can't believe Edge went 3. For right now, my only advice since you are a newbie is do NOT be a homer for your favorite team. IE. Do not look at your favorite teams players and think they walk on water. Be objective and take the best possible player every time. I see this all the time and their team usually turns out horrid. The draft makes or breaks any team.

if you can...catch SCIFI Mondays... they put on 3 or 4 older Stargate SG1's back to back... this will really help you catch up with the timeline. Stargate Atlantis is in it's second season and so is Battlestar Galatica... SciFi Friday has all new episodes for SG1, Atlantis and BG. The season premieres were last Friday...

In a nutshell, the supplemental draft is for players that didn't go in the regular draft for some reason. Each team has the option to pick up any player in the supplemental draft but whatever round the player is picked in, they lose that draftpick in the 2006 draft. EX. If buffalo picked that USC DT in the 3rd round, that would use buffalo's 3rd round pick in next years draft.

I think the only way to lose the franchise tag is to sign the player to a long term deal between march ?? and July ??. There is a set time where if you negotiate during that time, the franchise tag stays with the contract through the duration of the contract.
