  1. I think we are one yr. away from both Fletcher and Posey being free agents. LB is a need.
  2. Oh, ok. I didn't understand. Ngata, Bunkley, whoever can plug that hole the best is the player that I want. We were physically beat at the point of attack last year and if we plan to get any better we need to address that in this draft. I guess IMHO, I would rather have a great physical lineman then a great physical Safety.
  3. Why, oh why did we have to win that Cinc. game. We would be drafting #3 then. You make a good point. I'm not a great evaluator of NFL talent like Kiper so I basically go with my gut. I would love to trade down some spots and that is why I am really hoping that Vince Young slides. If he does, then I think Buffalo will be getting some calls to move up. If we have to stay at #8, the more I look at mocks, I'm starting to feel that Hawk might slip to #8. I think it really depends on Detroit. Hopefully they will take Cutler or Young. If so, then I think Hawk slips. Just like every year I will depend on Buffalo to make the best pick. Personally, I don't think it's Huff. Now, that assuming that he's a safety. If they think he can play a dominating CB, then I'm all for it, but I don't think he is.
  4. Nice post Boon. Yea, I don't care if it's Ngata / Bunkley / Hawk / Williams. These types of players will help the defense. Huff would also help the D, but I just think there are more pressing needs on the D and more safeties farther down the draft that are close to the same as Huff.
  5. You see the next Ed Reed. I see a player that is marginally better than the next 5 Safeties in this draft. Draft one of those instead. I'm not sure what you are getting at about Chicago, but they did have the #2 total defense in the league and held offenses to 281 ypg, while buffalo had the #29th total defense and gave up 343 ypg. Chicago gave up 100ypg on the ground, while Buffalo gave up 138ypg on the ground. #11 vs. #31. Hmmm.
  6. I think it's Marv. He's telling us he has no plan for draft day and will draft the best player available.
  7. Yea, maybe Justice will use his leaping ability to knock down some passes while he's playing OT. I'm no expert, but we really need to shore up the run stuffing D if we are going to win any games this year. Ngata or Bunkley would help that cause. Like I said before, I also really like Hawk and Mario, but they will be gone. DL first. Doesn't matter how good of DBs you have if your front 7 is pourous and cannot pressure the QB.
  8. That's the name of the game. You are betting that rates will stay the same or go down. You better be prepared if they go up. If not, who's fault is that?
  9. I would have no problems drafting Ngata, Hawk or Mario (doubt last 2 will be there). I just do not want to draft Huff or Young if he falls. I'm still in the trade down mode, but if we stayed at 8 I would love to take Ngata. The defense will have to keep us in games this year. Heck, look what it did for Chicago.
  10. That would be a A+ draft, IMO.
  11. Do you like talking to yourself? Thanks for the updates. Now, if we could only get a 3rd rd pick out of it.... Actually, stupid ?, but why the Texans? Carr really hasn't panned out and their OL is more pourous than ours is....
  12. Is Hawk good enough to be a Ray Lewis or Urlacher? If so, why pass on him. Fletcher is a FA after this year.
  13. I'm probably wrong, but I don't think the CBA and revenue sharing have anything in common. IE, they are separate deals. CBA between players and owners and revenue sharing between the owners only.
  14. I have no clue what this deal is looking like. I have only heard it on TBD. If we did trade for Walker, I would want to sign him to a long term deal before the trade commenced.
  15. I can definitely understand getting Leinert and can half way see Cutlery, but I will throw away my Ovaltine Buffalo Bills decoder ring if we draft Young (in the first round ). This guy is so overrated IMO. Dud = Young unability to throw + his 6 UNwonderlic score + his inability to run like Vick.
  16. If I had the #1 pick w/ this team I would....trade the pick away. Realistically, it would be hard for Buffalo to swallow the #1 pick monetarily wise. Oh, and we did get who we thought was going to be superb on the OLine in Mike Williams. What a bust he was. Not saying that Brick isn't the shiznit, but for this team, the best thing is to trade down and horde picks. The talent level between 8 and 12-15 isn't that great. I've also heard this draft is at least 3 rounds deep this year. Now, hypothetically, if I had an expansion team and I was starting anew, I would pick either Leinhert or the USC RB (his name is escaping me).
  17. If that truely did happen, I say trade up to 6 and get Mario Wiliams. Where is Jay Cutler in this scenario? Young the 1st QB taken. Someone's been smoking some of Ricky William's UT gonza special.
  18. If we can get Walker for a 4th or lower he is definitely worth it as long as he is healthy. Get it done Marv.
  19. Not just NO, but in the immortal words of Samuel Jackson "HELL NO!". If anything we should drop from 8 and pile draft picks. Personally, I'd like to drop to around 12-15 and pick up another 2nd or 3rd round pick.
  20. I guess it comes down to defensive philosophy. Personally, I would rather stop the run by having a young, stong defensive line. I don't think the difference between the #1 SS and the #5 SS in the league is that great.
  21. Wow. You guys are tough on RBs.
  22. If Huff is going to be a great DB, then he is worth the #8 pick. Now, if you were starting a football team would you rather have (with your #8 pick). A franchise DT, DE or Safety? Safeties are a dime a dozen. You can pick up a safety that is just as good as Huff at #8 as you could in the 2nd or 3rd round. Roy Williams went #8 when he was drafted. Are you saying Huff is as good as Roy Williams?
  23. First off, I am not a UT homer. Now, cedric has had one year. Let's see if he pans out. You can't deny when Rickey was on the field he was a great RB. Yes, he is a headcase. Priest Holmes also came from UT.
