  1. Jeff George was a cancer on any team he played for. His ego is bigger than his whole body.
  2. Optimism, I didn't expect to hear that. I'm glad, because I'm assuming you all got to see him play some during the preseason and saw some glimpses of what's to come.
  3. That would have been interesting considering Bledsoe got slammed 7 times yesterday. At least JP maybe could have ran away from some of those sacks. Time to look to the future already?
  4. Curious. How can we fix it?
  5. It's looking like it after 2 weeks.
  6. Do the D's get return yard (D.Hall?). If so, like someone else said, KC isn't too bad then. If no, Definitely, Washington. Pitt or Denver might come around.
  7. E. Smith - No this week, playing NE. But might be worth picking up. D. Foster - Definitely. S. Davis is out. T. Wheatley - No against buffalo. If the starter, but not very good. W. Green - No. L. Gordon - Cinc right? I would have to see one good week from him first. T. Bell - No J. Bettis - Balt this week? No I wouldn't play him, but a good pickup. L. Jordan - No J. Fargas - No G. Hearst - No
  8. If I had Gonzalez and Gates on my team. I would give you Gates for Deshaun Foster or M. Muhammad. Of course, that all depends on what my needs were at the time.
  9. For the way his league is, with out a Wildcard place to play a RB/WR/TE, Gates is a waste on his team because he is already going to start Gonzalez each week. Would you play Gates instead of Gonzalez? Again I ask the question: what would you trade for A. Gates and a WR? Would you even get a starting RB in the league? Since you are obviously more smarter than I.
  10. Yea, I saw Gate's stats, but for his team and the # of roster spots picking up Bettis or Foster as a backup is better than having him. On the flip side, what would you trade for A. Gates and a WR? Would you even get a starting RB in the league?
  11. It's hard to give advice in other ppls leagues. There are a lot of factors that go into picking up a player. First, I would can KC DEF. They suck. Is Washington still available. I think that GW will get that DEF ready in a hurry. Do you have to have a backup for all your positions? A. Gates and Bledsoe are wastes. Problem is no one is going to trade a good RB for a WR and TE, unless you give up the best ones on your team. I would pick up Bettis OR DeShaun Foster (S Davis out 3-5 weeks) for a RB. Cut Gates for one of those guys or the KC DEF.
  12. The players think that the owners are like Uncle Vito's bookie racket do they? I would think the NHL is too high profile to try and keep 2 sets of books. I think the players have taken one too many concussions. Both sides need to do what is best for the game. Salary cap and revenue sharing.
  13. Owners all the way.
  14. The owners need to open all of the books, prove to the players their salaries are too high and that the majority of the teams are losing money.
  15. Actually, it is AlQaeda with their new weather machine. Churning out hurricane after hurricane to kill the infidel.
  16. Finally figured out the quotes. Think of the parity you could get in hockey. #8 can beat #1 in the playoffs now. The NHL fan will come back. the NFL, NBA, and MLB fans came back. It will take time, but they will come back.
  17. Well I found the easiest that I could find. Why is it a bad choice? Should I have went to MLB and the Yankees?
  18. If you have revenue sharing every team has an equal shares the revenue generated from the sport (some exceptions). If you do that every team will have spending capital to make moves/sign players. Don't you think Buffalo would have wanted to keep Hasek if possible, but he wanted more then we could pay. The players need to realize that hockey make about 1/4 of what the other major sports make and they need to be paid accordingly, but of course they don't care. The players need to force the owners to go to full revenue sharing between the teams and the owners need to get the cap and pay the players about 55-60% of the revenues from the NHL.
  19. Circle the Wagons - I think the salary cap and revenue sharing go hand in hand because it would be hard for small market teams (Buffalo) to even match the cap if it were not for revenue sharing. Imagine Dallas, NY teams and Washington the kind of money they could make (and overspend) with their own TV deals (ala Yankees). The cap can be circumvented. The 49ers did it for years.
  20. Global warming at it's best.
  21. I think that is the one think that makes the NFL so great and have a pretty level playing field.
  22. Thanks Rico. Kiper is pretty good at evaluation talent. Too bad the Bills won't sniff the jockstraps of any of these guys.
  23. Linky... ESPN is turning into yuppies. : )
  24. What would could you get for Spikes? Maybe a 3rd if the other team is desperate for a LB....no way. Plus the hit on the cap would be staggering I bet. We need a Kicker....trade Bledsoe for any Kicker that can get it through the damn uprights... This year is lost anyways, we already lost one game.
