  1. Let's hope the first half of the season has 'below' .500 teams on the schedule. I know that will be tough with us being in the AFC East, but if I was MM, I would start out by having the offense play pretty conservatively and start opening up the offense once I feel that JP has a feel for the offense and reading the D. Set up the offense so we are not depending on JP too much and keep him in good situations. We have the luxury to do this because we have an outstanding Special Teams (if we get Nugent (couldn't help myself. )) and Defense. Basically using the Ravens playing style, play good D and field position and win games 17-13. If we get out of the first 6 games with 3 wins, we will be setting ourselves up for a big run in the 2nd half of the season.
  2. How do you get the damn little guy to move?
  3. Good info. Why the hell is Griese 8.3 mil? Wasn't he washed up a couple of years ago? I would like the Bills to get E.George or Barlow to backup, if the price is right. I'm sure he still has a little tread left on the tires.
  4. Here come Flutie, here comes Flutie, right down One Bills Drive Lane. : )
  5. Everyone keeps bashing TD, but he makes the hard decisions and *most* of the time they come out good. I'm glad we have TD and Modrak in the front office.
  6. I just don't see JJ being that good. I guess another good ? to ask is how much would you pay JJ to stay with the bills? Also, I'm not sure what the cost is for a top flight offensive tackle. Is it around 6-7Mil a year? Thanks.
  7. I really hope the JP, Moulds, and Evans (Reed can be there too. ) start throwing in the offseason and getting their timing down. I was very impressed with Harrison and Manning going out a couple of hours before pregame and running some routes. JP, Moulds and Evans need to have the mindset that they will be playing the rest of their careers together and they all need to be on the same page.
  8. About Nate: Maybe TD is going to go the 'PPrice' route and franchise him if he can't sign him to a long term deal. This way we get a high draft pick out of him so we can get his replacement. I think that TD underestimated the value of AW when he left and will not make the same mistake twice. IMO, if the choice is to get JJ or get a premier OT for about 1mil more a year, get the premier OT (W. Jones). As long as we get Nugent, all is well.
  9. I would think for a moderate backup QB, you would have a low base salary (1.5-2mil) and then have incentives if he actually has to play because of injury. Maybe get a youngster in the draft (late round) like other ppl are saying or get a journeyman for the 3rd QB spot...How much was Matthews last year?
  10. I can't believe that anyone would even give him a dollar to save that rabbit. Anyone that gives him money is basically paying a ransom on that rabbits head. Eat up. I bet he will be yummy.
  11. I think we have too many other positions that can be filled before worrying about a backup RB. Hopefully we can still get Sproles in the 4th or 5th. Whatever team gets him, it will be a steal. Nugent, CB (Clements Ins. policy), OL(if TD thinks they can plug them right in). For our first couple of picks.
  12. Eric is first class all the way. I'm sure he will also get a nice signing bonus that he will enjoy. : )
  13. Like Bill said, I would love to keep Clements, but I don't know if we can allocate the kind of funds he will probably demand. If TD is serious about keeping Clements, he should be trying to sign him right now, before the draft. That way if we fell we cannot sign him we get a CB to replace him in the 2nd or 3rd round. (Of course, using our one 2nd round pick on Nugent) Another positive about getting Nugent. Let's say that we sign Clements and PW to extensions. That should keep our D strong for a while. Add in a very good Nugent (FG kicking and deep kickoffs) and good punting/special teams, we could be just like the Ravens when they won the SB. The D keeps us in the game until Losman and Co. score 17 points to win. (I like that scenario)
  14. Speaking of those $300 bats. I just bought the Easton Synergy+ bat. Man, it looks impressive. I'm waiting for it to warm up to give it a try. In softball, it's all about the bat. In baseball, it helps alot to have a 'live' bat to swing.
  15. When i said 'street FA's' I meant the guys that didn't even get drafted. Bring in some youngsters that might pan out to see what they got. Wasn't PW a street FA? We can bring these guys in cheap, so trading DB and TH wouldn't have an effect on that. Yes, It will cost more to keep PW, but hopefully we will get a home discount and he also said that he wants to play for the bills. Sometimes you just have to cut some of the 'dead' weight so to speak. IF we can get Nugent, the 800k hit would be worth it. For Bledsoe, I think someone said that we would gain about 800k under this year's cap, so that would absorb Lindell's cap hit. Anyone know the cap numbers for Bledsoe? We could get a journeyman pretty cheap I bet. Will Bledsoe accept a pay cut and be the backup here? I highly doubt it. He still thinks he can be a starter in this league. Bledsoe's usefulness for the Bills is over. It was good for the Bills and the orgainzation when we got him, but I think we have found out he is a stone statue that cannot win meaningful games.
  16. Personally, I'm not high on Jennings, but I'll defer to TD on that one. I would try to sign him to a 'decent' contract in LT terms, but he probably won't take it. Do we have anyone waiting in the wings at T? Or move Teague out there and get a new center?
  17. Rudi is a FA. Is Cinc going to Franchise him and then try to trade him to Miami? That doesn't make much sense since they could spend a 2nd round pick and get TH...
  18. No way we take a TE. There are too many other spots to take. Nuge will be there for us anyways. : ) Hopefully, Terrance Murphy will slide some also. He's very fast. CB would be better, Perkins or Cory Webster
  19. ** Do not sign any high prices FA's ** 1) Sign P Williams to an extension. This will shore up our DL and we will not need to draft any. 2) Trade away Bledsoe and THenry. Hopefully we can get something out of these guys. 3) In draft, get K (Nugent), CBs and then best available players(later rounds crapshoot). 4) Bring in multiple street FA's for OL and DL. Maybe another Jason Peters out there somewhere. 5) After draft and rookie camp see what we need and try to get non-high price players to fill the gap.
  20. Personally, I would say bite the bullet, drive the 45 minutes and let your son test out some bats. Let him swing them and see what he feels is the right weight for him. I do that with all the bats that I buy. It's more a feel than anything.
  21. I think we should look for a long term solution for K, and Nugent is the only alternative. We will have to give up a 2nd for him, but it will be worth it. People underestimate the power of having an accurate, stong legged kicker. Look at what Moorman has done for us. His booming kicks gives us an advantage field position wise. Nugent would also give us that with kicking the ball all the way to/in the endzone (instead of the 10 for Lindell) and having an accurate kicker out to the 50. How many games would we have won this and last year had we a kicker like Nugent or Vinetari kicking the ball? We would have gone to the playoffs this year and would have had a better record last year. We need a good, reliable kicker.
  22. Cut both. Get NUGENT. : )
  23. I totally agree with you, but the problem w/ Hockey is no one wants to watch it on TV, so the only way to play the players under the current (past) CBA was to pay through the nose for those seats. I would pay 75 for good Bills seats, but that's why I asked about season tickets and how much they cost for Hockey. Isn't the hockey season 84 games? That's 42 home games.... 42*75 = 3150 and that's for ONE seat!!!! Craziness.
  24. Whoa! 67%, that's alot more than I thought.
  25. We need to hook Moorman up w/ a lifetime deal. Then get Nugent in here and our Special Teams will be stellar for the next 5 years.
