Bills practice Thurs 8/17 starting with McD interview
The_Ripster replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
Diggs Davis Harty On paper, those 3 are the only locks because it would really mess up the teams' bankroll if they were to be cut. Sherfield seems like a guy they brought in to back up Diggs, and from what I've read he has been impressive. After that, you have two 5th rounders (Shorter and Shakir) and a multitude of other dudes who have all impressed. (Patmon, Shavers, Ateman) Can't see them keeping the older 5th rounder over the newer one, kinda defeats the purpose of why they drafted Shorter in the first place. And I doubt they have plans to keep more than 2 dedicated slot/gadget WR's. My best guess... Diggs Davis Harty Sherfield Shorter Shavers From what I've read Shorter is a special teams ace at gunner , and so is Shavers (he was actually Araiza's gunner on ST for the aztecs). Also, don't forget Kincaid needs touches too so imo there is no real reason to put such a heavy emphasis on slot depth, especially when they have Diggs and Sherfield + Harty if they wanna mix things up. -

missed out on kwon alexander among other FA LB's, in hindsight it's a miracle we got Diggs, Von Miller and Floyd. -

Harris and Murray sounds like a New England backfield -
8 new WR's, all being brought in to compete and be put under a microscope while being thrown to by no other than .. Kyle Allen? ahaha.. Wonder if they bring in some udfa QB's too. Does anyone know who the best ones are still remaining? Also, has anyone mentioned Oklahoma OL Chris Murray? CBS sports has him listed as one of our guys. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/2023-nfl-undrafted-free-agent-tracker-team-by-team-list-of-prospect-signings-after-nfl-draft/

From what I've seen on Richard Gouraige (not much besides his appearances in the Florida OL/Offense vs Georgia Defense I found while looking for O'Cyrus footage) I have extracted from my observations that he is NOT A RUN BLOCKER. In fact, whenever he is spotted in the open field he looks like a "fish-out-of-water". Although he does make up for this with his pretty mean kick-out and he is a solid pass blocker.

Where’s the Brenton Cox announcement? 😄😉

I like Noah Sewell, forget Jack Campbell/ etc., and go get the best offensive playmaker in the first round.

announce kwon alexander to the bills!

Matt Araiza accused of rape, served with a lawsuit.

If they cut him out right and he in turn is "innocent", could he sue the Bills? -

He's in Buffalo Bills' Jail. They are going to keep him here under a microscope until they have the full story and then crucify him for the public. -

RB is a really GLARING need, right?
The_Ripster replied to Richard Noggin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I disagree, you're missing the variable of receiving yardage. What if they both get 50 receptions and one gets 250 yards and the other back gets 400 yards? In the modern NFL this is a huge differentiating factor among the really elite dudes and regular backs. Having a playmaker in the backfield that can break big plays whenever they catch the ball is a major upside and adds a dimension. Also, don't forget to track rushing attempts. Two 750 yard rushers doesn't mean the RB committee backfield is "dangerous" when it takes one guy 150 snaps to get 750 yards vs your second running back 200 snaps to get 750 yards. And there are other factors like when they are accumulating yardage. Ex. versus starters or vs second team D-Lines or important moments vs garbage time snaps. Teams respect the run based on effectiveness. Teams fear backs who can go for 75 yard touchdowns off a screen pass AND run efficient. Those guys are usually expensive though so most teams settle for 2 lesser backs who just run efficient or a bunch of backs with different skills. But that surely broadcasts the intentions of the offense based on personnel if the other team does their homework. I'm excited to see what happens in training camp. Singletary looks strong AF! I agree with this perspective. Unfortunately many will say it's the o-line and it wouldn't matter who was rushing until that is addressed.
