You do realize he threw as hard as Mahomes to his right and 2 MPH less to his left right and 10 MPH faster than Watson from combine numbers? He's not a noodle arm, but he's no where near the highest in arm strength. He had the highest rating in 2019 for all passes over 20 yards. As to the OP I never liked Newton either. Only 3 good seasons, and 1 of those was elite. The rest of the time he was a great athlete who couldn't throw in the pocket.

Bills given A- for offseason moves so far...Yahoo Sports
BigBillsFan replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd give this off-season a B+. Just needed a TE like Ebron or Hooper to give it an A. Yes I would have over-paid Hooper like the Browns to have a sure-handed guy to help with the offense. I really believe in investing in Allen's success. If you traded so much to get him, give him all the confidence in the world. Love our off-season and really I can't complain. I guess they see more in Knox than I do. Sometimes the greatest gift you can give to a young QB is confidence and having a huge target for those harder throws is worth every penny in his development. Hooper wasn't a 20 mil splurge. For a guy with 1 drop I would have paid it for Allen alone. -
Josh Allen "Prove it" Season In Year 3

It was a question that I answered. I wasn't arguing against him. Pointing out facts is not against a person to succeed. I want him to succeed. The truth is I've never said otherwise. Your bias won't allow you to see I have no animus against the guy. I just don't think he's a good QB as of right now. I hope he is, I've always said so. I'm happy about the Diggs trade and I hope he had Hooper to bail him out if he's getting flushed out of the pocket as a big target. Let's pretend he succeeds incredibly and is our QB for 15 years and his decline is evident. Will pointing that out reduce my fandom as well or only when he's young? -

My facts weren't wrong, neither are yours. I don't dispute your argument or your facts. Your argument has merit and mine does as well. Your argument is he throws at a higher percent of TDs per attempt and that's a better measure. Fine that's a good argument. Mine was as a starter for a season he is in the bottom 5 of TDs thrown and that has merit as well meaning you have to deliver with your arm as a QB no matter how many attempts you have. If you have less attempts that is also a measure of completion % giving you less chances. We'll see how this pans out next year, I'm not discussing it anymore, I don't have time. Also, I'm going to get hammered for anything about Josh. Biscuit gets slammed too. He's not slam free. No amount of "grounding" stops people from calling you names, strangely if you did the same it would be seen as "crude" or "emotional" because you're the heel and they are championing the hero, or watch how insulting people are calling me a bull****** and no one calls them out for incivility. It's a strange hypocrisy. I've read this forum for years and the other forum when it still existed and posted in them 15 years ago. Losman was championed, EJ was championed, and the slightest regress of Captain Checkdown because he was a 4th rounder was tolerated. I see how emotional people are when discussing 1st round QBs and in the incivility against people is tolerated when it's in favor of 1st round QBs. -

Except I used facts, facts that don't fit narrative. Look it's a fact so much so that all people who disagree say is "He changed the argument". Gotta say if that's the best you have you know you don't have an argument. Let's try this again since I'm against "facts". He finished bottom 5 in starters for QBs thrown. Unless you want to factor in back-ups and guys that played 10 games that's the truth. He played a full season and was in the bottom 5. The only QBs he finished above was Brissett, Dalton, tied Murray, tied Fitz, & Trubisky. Sorry I didn't include the back-up Kyle Murray. -

But see we think the same and mere pointing out flaws makes people go crazy. They want to use stats only found in Nerdom that might vindicate them because the real stats that count don't just yet. I want Josh to succeed, I wanted Hooper to bail him out of plays that's how much I want Josh to succeed. Now we're counting the incredible comebacks against the Jets, Bengals and Giants and yet only scoring 17 points. Sorry what's astounding is we needed 17 points in the last minutes to win. Realism scares people, makes them go crazy. I've watched it for EJ, Losman, and any other 1st rounder. Fans are far more objective if the player isn't in the 1st. I hope he succeeds but right now he's a major work in progress and if he does he has a ton of talent and we'll all be happy. No one is drinking Haterade, we can point out he isn't that great of a QB just yet, and a QBs biggest traits for long-term success is decision making and accuracy. He's obviously improving and I know with Diggs he'll do better. -

Per game not total TDs. He's bottom 5 unless you want to compare him to Mason Rudolph with 10 games. Trying too hard chief hahaha -

Maybe he's #1 in completion % if we factor in the sun in his eyes too. -

No one was arguing if they were up. Facts are stubborn things and yes he was bottom 5 for thrown TDs so work on that ol' readin' comprehension -

Season 3 all I want to see is 62% completion and 3600 yards, less fumbles, and about 23-25 TDs. -

You're trying too hard. hahahaha -
Last in passing yards last among starters. Last. That MVP had a few more TDs and higher YPG, YPA, higher completion, and a once in a generation talent who won't last long in the NFL. Records I don't care about. Trubisky was 12-4 in his 2nd year, Pro-Bowl, with better stats on everything except rushing. QBR isn't QB Rating (QBR vs RTG). On rating I'm right. I do think Tannehill, Carr, and Jones are better QBs last year. He's certainly NOT top 15 at his position. He is what he is, a bottom 3rd QB with a ton of potential and promise. He led a bottom 1/3rd offense, and for long stretches of multiple games looked horrible.
-
The only misconception is that he can throw the deep ball based on 6-8 passes over 2 years.

100% yes and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to understand how intelligent these guys are and how committed they are to winning. I think I figured Beane out and why he didn't get Hooper or more big splashes beyond Diggs and puts more money on the D-line. It's just more consistent hedging towards defense until they can figure out the offensive side. They figure if they get 1 side REALLY right they will never have a bad team and make the playoffs more often than not. By not getting big ticket FAs they can hedge with spreading out depth to again get a consistent win cycle without a franchise QB. If it happens they have to figure out how to play the same game they are playing now, which won't work. It's similar to the Steelers until Ben got a huge contract. This has no bearing on Allen being good or not, it's a strategy to produce a consistent winner, a winner they may not win a SB, but it will consistently win. I think our history of poor play will now be taken over by a team too good to suck, but never good enough to win the SB with their current paradigm, although anything could happen and a QB could catch fire during the playoffs and let the chips fall where they may. It will be destroyed if they have to pay Josh (or anyone else) $30 million+ money unless he's a thorough-bred. It's better for a Teddy Bridgewater/younger Dalton/or middle of the road starter who will never be a stud, but good enough to spread out the wealth and have a consistent winner and potentially a SB if they slip in like the Titans almost did. Vrabel built his team roughly the same way, but now with the Tannehill situation I'd like to see what his team looks like in 2021.

Knox's drops are not to be trusted. I said "helped" carry a game. He's a dependable outlet to a young QB on a rookie contract. Knox is unknown and certainly not dependable at this minute.
-
We are shallow at TE. We don't have any dependable talent that can help carry a game. If wishes and buts were candy and nuts... Not proven, and not a good situation for a young QB. Sorry but this is a fail. Hooper should have been our guy.

Bills/Diggs trade - did it drive Brady to leave NE?
BigBillsFan replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Physically he has plenty in the tank, he just looks mentally checked out, he doesn't really care and he just looks like a brat frustrated with his team. He certainly doesn't look like a leader.
