Wrong, Teef asked. Wrong, I watched their games. His last game against the Colts was amazing. I watched at least 8 of their games when he was starting. He sucked a bunch in several of them. Overall the question was who would you prefer. You did, that's fair. GoBills808 pointed out rushing stats, also a fair argument to be considered. The rest were the Little Rascals.

Only the approved orthodoxy of the masses can be spoken here. The question was asked and I answered honestly from my own perspective. Honestly you guys are so touchy about the subject it's almost laughable. Look I see more as a QB out of a rookie than a 2nd year guy. That's what I see. Allen might be better in the long run, he certainly has better physical traits. I still believed JP was going to suck throwing balls into the ground after he did it 10 times. I believed EJ wasn't going to make it because he processed the game too slowly. I have more hope for Allen, but it's hope based on his hard work and improvements which I can't deny. But yeah, that makes me less a fan to see things more objectively. If Allen wasn't drafted in the 1st round you guys would be singing a different tune. If you want to point to our record maybe Mitch "The Man" Trubisky should be in the same boat. Soft schedule and great defense can't save us unless we get some real production out of the QB position.

1 Bold Offseason Prediction
BigBillsFan replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills extend Trent Murphy with a 3 yr $100 mil extension and fans heads explode in unison... You asked for a bold prediction, not a correct one. -
Jordan Palmer - QB summit on Doug Gottlieb show

The only reason for the "mobile" QB is because QBs aren't being coached in college properly. Want to win now in college? Run the QB more and find a QB that has modest accuracy and very athletic. Blown coverage is pretty common and it's enough to make QBs look great. Even Tebow looked like he could pass in college. There is no incentive for a college coach to develop a QB, just win. It's not that QBs can't do what Rivers, Brady, Marino, Kelly, Brees, Manning did in the past. It just takes too much training and patience to master that type of QB with a high bust rate but huge reward. And now with social media pitch forks to have a insta-success it puts pressure on the franchise to win now. -

I was reading about the demographics of NFL fans and they are aging (average fan is now 50). They think if they give England and Mexico a team you'll get millions of fans by default. I think it's just the opposite and they need to cultivate more of a family culture going to the game to get dads and sons to go to the games more. -

McDermott is the perfect 9-7 coach give or take a win but will never win us anything substantial. He's a slightly better version of Marvin Lewis. He can't coach offense -

Is Josh Allen A Good Quarterback??? (Good Film Breakdown)
BigBillsFan replied to Scorp83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I never once looked at the history of postings and dug this up, I thought I honestly found this on the 1st page. I believed, maybe mistakenly, that this was on the 1st page without giving it a 2nd thought as to the date. I've also noticed some threads disappearing and showing up 2 days later. I honestly don't know how it happened and I apologize. -

What JaCrispy is saying, and I agree, is that when a player like Daniel Jones has "those" games you know he has a strong future. The games where he is the major reason why the team scored a lot of points, 300+ yards, and mutiple TDs throwing in a game. You think that's sustainable and something you build on. You can see him throwing the ball where only the receiver can catch it with anticipation and accuracy. He had 4 of them in 12 starts as a rookie. Josh had 1 good game against Dallas and one half against the Texans. Jones's games were just superior as a passer. Allen is not a traditional QB and I know we won 10 games but can anyone tell me if we didn't start Case Keenum we would have had the same record or better? I'm not sure, and that's the point I'm not sure if Allen is better than a journeyman in 2019. He has a lot to prove and he might make the jump. -
How do Bills' past moves foretell the WR pick?
BigBillsFan replied to GG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My wife said something similar to me. It was hard to decipher at first, but I'm getting it now that I read this but it was more about drinking a 40 but other than that very close. -
And all we have to do is score more points than our opponent. j/k Seriously if we don't win the division it will be a huge let-down. My only fear is even if Brady is gone the 13th man in the refs let their o-line make love to the defenders with holding and the receivers run pick plays and push off. The 13th man is strong with the Cheats*

I still believe a TE that can be a consistent outlet is a huge need and unless Knox learns to catch it's still a huge need. The other problem is rookie WRs are not known to blow the doors off. It can and does happen but they need adjustment periods. I still think we get an Aghalor to go with our new WR we grab. And just as I write this I can just FEEL the satanic urge at 1BD to pick a CB in the 1st. -
It was the only NFL team on TV. The Giants came on later on NBC but CBS covered the Bills where I'm from in upstate NY. My dad never liked pro sports but I did. I watched my first game as a kid in 1989. Watched them ever since. No longer live in upstate NY but there is no way in Hell I'm rooting for another team. Ohhhhh I've been tempted. The spirit is strong but the flesh is weak but I overcame my temptation. Praise the Lord! Testify! j/k

Metcalf averaged 90 yards per game in his final year in college. I consider that pretty good. I'm referring to a guy who maybe averaged 20-50 yards a game, had an amazing combine, get drafted in the pros and turn a stud? Think of Darrius Heyward-Bay. Has there been a case where a Bay turned out great from the combine and was just BLAH in college and drafted super high?
-
Can anyone remember an average WR with insane measurables at the combine who shined in the pros? I just too have too many Matt Jones nightmares to scare me off from them.

We don't know if a projection is true unless the variables are the same, which in football that never happens. Even the best QBs have great games then stinkers the next. The only thing you can work off of is the actual numbers. QBs that have more touchdowns get less YAC on a throw because it's in the endzone. If you miss more passes you get less chances to make more in the future. If you get more 1st downs you get more chances to pass, if you miss more passes you get less chances hence the 25th overall passing attempts. You can't use projections for a sport that's impossible. But again we're getting past the point I was making and you were trying to argue which is too much can be read in anecdote. You said I should "dunno watch the game". I sat down for lunch and watched the 1st 90 seconds of each "all the throws". Granted most are from 2018 and I purposefully excluded pressure on him. Well I don't think I saw green and another could see blue, even in his 2019 game that I pointed out he wasn't on point, even remotely. Tell me where I'm wrong on actual evidence.

We're on a board where people commonly insult each other for bad grammar, misspelling, and sexual innuendo and now me joking about Godzilla is a bridge too far. Really? Goosfraba! A veteran athlete in the NFL isn't a bum, and outside of 20-50 players in the entire world better than him at his position any starter is fairly competent unless the coach puts in young players he wants to excel in the hopes they can be better than the vets who might be better today for salary cap reasons or potential. Maybe the silly joke about Godzilla was to give perspective that the sky ain't falling and our talent isn't that bad on offense. Maybe a Tannehill can change the 28th offense to the 4th best. Sometimes 1 player makes a huge difference, sometimes it doesn't without the right coaching. It's a complex sport. Cole Beasley is a fantastic athlete, the same with John Brown, Gore played fantastic to start the season, and Singletary is a great athlete and player. When people say Josh carried the team, or he had no weapons, or there is a dearth of talent I'm sorry but that's not a serious argument. 2018 season? Sure, but not 2019. If it takes putting down legit vets and athletes to feel better about the QB than you've lost perspective.

Really? Bias huh? These are "all the throws" for the only games I could find. I only went through a little of each game. Show me the YAC potential on these throws... basically none of them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AoUw69jvUI :24 “little high” or as Bills fan would call it a “drop” :31 no room to run :41 wrong guy and low :51 “little high” or as Bills fan would call it a “drop” 1:41 knucke-ball Only 1 good throw and it was to Zay. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnKfjF1emcY :04 outstreched arms 1:16 did he need MORE separation? 1:25 just a little high hahaha https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKRdtGi3lbA :03 A “tad” high :53 behind the receiver 1:05 zone placement 1:21 zone placement 1:44 high on short throw, even if caught he gets blown up 2019 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-hp7_QubP0 Outstretched arms: :04 Outstretched arms: :17 Outstretched arms: :26 Zone 1:05 Slightly behind 1:14 Outstretched arms: 1:25 It's because one proceeds another. If you miss more passes you get less chances. That's why "normalized" YAC is a worthless stat. Advanced metrics is when people want to advance narratives. I could beat Larry Bird, Steph Curry, Michael Jordan, Dirk Novitzski, and 30 other NBA legend in a 3 point content. They get 1 shot each and I get 1,000.

What I loved about the Steelers is how they simplified the game for Ben. The difference was the running game was their offense. We should copy that as much as possible.
