His defenses are so bad that the opponent won’t even punt anyway…am I doing this right? 🤣

The dude gets snubbed pretty much every year…he’s skipped twice when they’ve tried to name him an alternate which I honestly kind of like. The one year he got actually selected the pro bowl got all messed up by Covid. Absolutely criminal he’s only been voted in once and the game was canceled can’t even just blame fans fan voting is a small percentage of the selection process I think the nfl world finally realized they haven’t been giving Josh enough credit this year which is why things are leaning pretty strongly his way despite Lamar looking slightly better on paper. Daboll/Diggs etc were getting more credit for Josh’s success than they rightfully deserved and there’s really no alternate explanations to try to diminish him anymore

Broncos at Bills Sunday 1pm (confirmed)

This is just getting so sensationalized to me. like yea if you start dropping playoff games to the broncos of the league it gets obvious what you have to do. But the teams that we’ve been losing to have first ballot hof qbs also that are gonna put points on the board against anyone. Chiefs had a few games each playoff run against top tier offenses where they had to score 30 or 40+ to win. The defensive mastermind that ‘stopped’ banged up mahomes in the playoffs that one time just got fired and their head coach is on the hot seat for missing the playoffs so I think it’s pretty safe to say no one in the league really has the recipe for the playoff chiefs. Heck it’s not even like belichick did it, they had to score 36 to win that one and they got lucky with an ot coin toss. I just don’t know who you’re bringing in for head coach that’s gonna flip the script. Let’s say you hire Ben Johnson tomorrow, even if you have a pretty low opinion of mcd defensively who is Johnson bringing in at DC to right the ship? I don’t think you’re getting someone better than mcd even if you don’t like mcd. The big name DCs will get head coaching gigs and he’ll probably be stuck with a retread head coach level guy for DC which is what the anti mcd crowd sees mcd as anyway 🤣. I think it’s a big risk to probably end up right back in the same place at best. the ‘if it doesn’t happen this year it won’t happen’ argument just doesn’t suit the nfl playoffs imo. It’s so ridiculously high variance where the team that wins it is probably catching a few breaks along the way. To me, there isn’t this huge distinction between regular season bills chiefs games with massive playoff seeding implications and the playoff games. Both teams are throwing everything they have into both those kinds of games. Pretty much any of them could’ve gone either way and the playoff sample size is just way too small to single out. -

I could be crazy and this hopefully won’t be a jinx but this broncos defense has to be one of the more overrated groups I can remember in recent memory...to me they’re good but they get talked about in the elite conversation and I don’t really see it. If the chiefs had anything to play for the broncos probably would’ve missed the playoffs giving up 30+ in 4 of their last 5 games with the only under 30 game being against horrendous Anthony Richardson. They’re definitely solid but they’ve got a couple weak links in the secondary that will get exposed hard by a pretty good oline/mobile qb that can actually hit throws. It really doesn’t even feel like strength vs strength bills offense vs broncos defense to me. they pretty much live or die by pass rush and have a bad matchup in that regard. Only path to a broncos win I can see is Bo Nix playing flawless and winning a shootout -

Chiefs seem like they always have a few issues that they straighten out by the playoffs…they’re out there trying to set records/three peat etc but everything went sideways for them a bit based on oline play this year. -

It really is an interesting situation…mcd isn’t beating the chiefs in the playoffs but nobody is. I could understand the other side of the argument more if other teams were having sustained success against the playoff chiefs and we weren’t but the only active head coach to beat the chiefs in the playoffs since mahomes took over is probably getting fired in the next couple years. Heck one of the nfc coaches that snuck through and won the superbowl that time the chiefs lost just got fired from a second team since then 🤣 The odds the new coach you bring in has more luck against the chiefs are pretty slim imo Marvin Lewis never even won a first round playoff game in 7 tries, was 8-26 against the Steelers, and had back to back to back losing seasons when he was fired. I don’t even understand the comparison. -
Did they have any kind of gotcha for the team with 9 pro bowlers having a worse record than the team with 2? lol not that the cook gotcha is even valid like you said. I think other voters would have trouble trying to think of a comeback for that and orlovsky putting that on film probably helped Josh’s case a good amount. Looks like the odds have been swinging more heavily Josh’s way in most sportsbooks even though the season has been over

Their strength is kind of in the wrong spot as far as matching up with the bills goes imo. Surtain is a beast and they’ve got a good pass rush but the bills oline is good and Josh is mobile and should have a few real good wr/db matchups. broncos d gave up 30+ in three must win games to close out the season and likely would’ve given up 30+ in 4 out of their last 5 games and missed the playoffs if kc played starters. Seems like that defense got figured out as the season went on but Anthony Richardson is straight up awful so he had a bad game against them lol -

People get nervous when they’re playing a team with ‘nothing to lose’ because they think all the pressure is on their team but the broncos don’t really have nothing to lose. They’re always gonna come in to the playoffs as a low seeded wildcard playing in the afc west so the ‘we’re just happy to be here’ narrative doesn’t make any sense for them. -
Cooper hardly played. Got him week 7 and he missed three games due to injury. Ravens have Derrick Henry who has a better mvp case than Lamar imo he just got straight up snubbed. I’d be less upset if Henry or Barkley got it over Josh than if Lamar did 🤣 It’s so weird you can even bet on mvp in most places cuz the voters pretty much tell you who they’re voting for on social media haha I think that’s what has swung the odds even more…even some of the never joshers are coming around It’s legit crazy how often Lamar is throwing to comically wide open guys from a clean pocket haha idk if there’s some kind of advanced metric for that but he’s gotta be miles above everyone else in that category if there is. Derrick Henry is that teams mvp but Lamar seems to have gotten all the credit as far as end of season awards have gone
-
Orlovsky had the mic drop I think…he said it’s pretty much statistically impossible to lead your team to that good of a season without a 1000 yrd receiver or rusher (cook ended up just making it) and they only had 1 pro bowler other than Josh while the ravens had 9 total and despite all that the bills beat the 1 seed in each conference. he said if it’s a stats only award just let a computer pick it…that’s not what it’s about

Nice look at the J. Brady offense
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Scott7975's topic in The Stadium Wall
A bunch of guys moving around pre snap could mess with the tempo of your offense and you could be constantly racing to get the ball snapped in time. It’s a great tool if you’re good at it/like it but not everyone does -
They’re still there from what I’ve seen. It’s a bit tricky to find the odds sometimes because I think player award betting is illegal in ny technically. I check them on Vegas insider usually which shows you the odds at a bunch of different sportsbooks at once. Looks like josh is between a -250 and -500 favorite lookin at all of them

Will Miami start taking calls on Hill?
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to RoscoeParrish's topic in The Stadium Wall
Tuas a bad contract even when healthy lol. Seems like he plays his worst when the lights are brightest. That’s probably part of what is frustrating tyreek in the first place -
I think coaches have to take other interviews to put pressure on the team they’re actually interested in. I doubt vrabel ends up with the jets. NE is a way better job
-
I’ll never understand why people don’t get this point haha idk who he’d bring in for DC but anyone good enough to turn that defensive situation around would probably be up for their own head coaching gig

Jets request to interview Joe Brady
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall
I thought Mitch looked pretty good honestly haha I was kind of surprised. Seems like we brought in Mike white to throw the game though he was pretty awful also we punted from the 35 to get Martin a bonus on his contract which definitely would not have happened under normal circumstances -
It didn’t make a humongous difference this year but yea Huntley is considerably worse. They had tua for a lot of the tougher games this year and long enough to turn it around and still lost to pretty much all the good teams. I think teams skimp on backup qbs because even if you have a pretty good one you’re probably not winning a Super Bowl anyway so they see it as wasted resources
-
Or maybe Micah should watch some of the games lol Lamar throwing to laughably wide open guys because teams are loading up to stop Derrick Henry is just not an mvp to me I think you could argue Lamar is not even the mvp of his own team pretty easily

Wildcard weekend. Your upset call.
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to steven50's topic in The Stadium Wall
That was still the most bizarre game I’ve ever seen lol we almost lost but we were inches on a few throws from Josh having like 500+ yards passing and blowing them out too 🤣 Idk they had no Pickens last time and the ravens had flowers and it was still close most of the way. Idk that they’ll win but id expect the Steelers to be in it. Ravens Steelers have a long history of really close games that the Steelers usually win lol -

That Lions offensive depth chart is absolutely stacked lol idk why everyone gets hung up on the qb specifically. outside of qb they are significantly better than us at just about every position I’d say and Goff isn’t exactly a schlub by any means. I think Ben Johnson could easily be the hot oc that doesn’t work out also honestly. -
That Texans game threw some cold water on the whole ‘we turned it around’ narrative for their fans I think. Tua looked awful in a must win game. They were pretty bad until garbage time against gb too down the stretch. also your numbers are not correct they didn’t even win 9 games total lol. They went 6-3 down the stretch and 5 of those wins were CLE,LV,NE,NYJ,SF.its usually a scheduling anomaly when they go on a decent run because they pretty much exclusively lose to good teams. they weren’t much better with Tua vs without too. Tua was 6-5 this year when starting. granted his matchups were tougher but I don’t think their fans are having that ‘if we only had tua’ feeling you’re describing
