  1. I feel like it’s more of a function of how the voting works than anything and if these fools realized that it wouldn’t have upset them that much. It seems like each award has 5 finalists which in the case of some awards is probably 2-3 too many. The guys that don’t have any shot at winning are still finalists though a big story in kc land is probably how they’re gonna abuse our safeties so the comeback player talk for them was probably overflow from that I was literally gonna use the word jabroni in my post too hahaha settled on fools though
  2. Yea that’s fair, I do think SOME of it is how playoff games are usually officiated too. Last year seemed like an offensive line hold fest both ways and they weren’t calling nothing haha that was a pretty tough game to be a dlineman a flagless game probably benefits the chiefs a bit cuz they’ve got the only guy that’s gonna bust through 1-2 obvious holds and make a play still
  3. I just don’t know how they’re gonna run the football…Pacheco don’t look right since returning from injury and kicking thuney out to LT seemed to really hurt their running game. Seems to help mahomes only get crazy pressured from one side of the field rather than the whole pocket collapsing on him though so still worth it overall for them I do expect one of those games where our opponent emphasizes a ton of underneath stuff to neutralize the pass rush and hopefully we can disrupt that and bat some balls
  4. You are 100% right but just as a funny footnote the chiefs are surprisingly the lowest ranked team by DVOA in our playoff run so far. If we were to beat them they’d be the lowest ranked team by ELO in our playoff run no matter who wins the nfc championship 😂. If the eagles win that would be true for DVOA also of course that all goes out the window Sunday night haha but pretty interesting stuff. We are almost always higher ranked than them in those metrics but it’s pretty rare that a lower seeded AFC team sneaks in between us. ill never forgive the bengals for blowing this stat haha but since 2020, the only team of the 8 to make the superbowl with an under 15 total dvoa was that bengals team. Curious how many years back that indicator holds up for…I think I’ve gotta pay them money to check further back than 2020 😂 took a look through net points of teams in the superbowl because that’s free, chiefs are at 59 this year and only 5 teams of the 40 were under 60 net points going back 20 years (2 were the giants)
  5. Flag happy crew benefits the bills imo…a non flag happy crew would be a great equalizer for the offensive line disparity between these two teams
  6. I feel like physically as far as beating his man goes he is slowing down, but him and mahomes have insane chemistry on those ‘find a hole in the zone’ type plays so he can still absolutely hurt you badly
  7. Not 100% sure but I’m tryin to look into it
  8. I feel like the hope is some of the AP voters proactively split their votes for all pro and mvp to recognize both guys so I’m not sure this diminishes the pretty low odds any further.. it certainly doesn’t help though 😂
  9. Granted it’s hard to get hype as a punter lol, but has araiza seemed kinda meh?
  10. lol I’ll be a hell of a lot more pissed losing to the chiefs again than I would be losing a Super Bowl to the eagles
  11. I have a conspiracy theory that when they drove down that far we were kind of like ‘flood the field with dbs so they either score fast to leave time for the offense or maybe we get an INT’ might’ve just worked out that way by accident though for sure 😂
  12. I remember reading that too which leads me to believe Darnold won’t win. I feel like voters voted him as their number 2 just for a little recognition even though it’s not supposed to be what the award is about anymore and burrow will definitely win it…we’ll see though I guess
  13. He looked pretty good to me but it’s a steep falloff from brown to him if we’re talkin about run blocking imo
  14. I’m not 100% sure on this but I think the voting is you pick 5 guys for each award that you rank 1-5 and each ranking is worth different points. the ‘finalists’ are probably the top 5 point getters. So it might be a ‘hmm who do I write in for number 5…oh yea that damar Hamlin Hamlin guy from last year’ thing where he is a mile behind these other guys but still technically in the top 5
  15. I think they changed the philosophy behind it to be closer to ‘guys coming back from major injuries and stuff like that’. They didn’t want it to be about ‘guys that sucked for awhile and were suddenly good’ so burrow who’s always good but was injured will very likely get it over Darnold
  16. They tried the 4-3 regular season a bit and two of the linebackers were Spector and morrow due to injury haha I don’t think it was a question of not having the right gameplan they just didn’t have the bodies to execute it. idk I think it was still a mismatch that we mitigated pretty well with a good gameplan. If you go heavy to stop the run you’ve still gotta contend with likely and Andrews in the passing game and they adjusted to our 4-3 as the game went on by going even heavier which seemed pretty effective. If you focus on clogging up interior running lanes Lamar can bounce it outside or vice versa. They really were an absolutely stacked team lol Henry still having gas in the tank was an absolute game changer for them. Back in 2020 everyone said it was a bad matchup and I felt exactly the same way as what you posted here because they really didn’t have that bowling ball type guy so you could focus more on containing Lamar
  17. Not only did they have to move the goalposts but now they have to fight hard to defend why their 3 time mvp has only advanced past the divisional round once.
  18. How do they determine the finalists? They count up the votes and send the 1-5 points getters?
  19. Just because I love stirring the pot with pff ratings I have to point out that worthy was ranked lower than Coleman 😂
  20. He got outcoached in the regular season this year? Or am I reading that incorrectly. Can’t think of any other defensive performance against kc where Kelce got held under 10 receiving yards and mahomes had 0 scrambles
  21. Don’t think we were playing much jumbo back then and we were missing Spencer brown so I’m not sure how relevant the effectiveness level is from that last matchup but you are 100% right that we definitely tried lol
  22. Agree with a lot of this I think Kincaid has a really good matchup though I hate that I feel good about this game because it will make it all the more devastating if it doesn’t go how I expect 😂 but to me the chiefs have been playing a bit of a shell game trying to cover up their weaknesses and they’re running into the team that’s probably best equipped to expose them Running the ball and throwing to TEs and RBs is exactly how the bills want to play on offense, and sliding thuney to LT seems to have hurt the chiefs ability to run the football a bit which makes it a bit easier for the bills to have their fun in nickel lol the bills solid but not spectacular pass rushers finally have a couple matchups that seem favorable as well
  23. I went through how different coaches/qbs have fared against the mahomes chiefs in another post and it is absolutely shocking. You’d think the bills never beat them and everyone else does the way josh is talked about but the bills are really the only team having any kind of success against them at all lol
  24. He’s good in coverage and the guy he replaced was pretty bad. It’s definitely a notable upgrade as far as pass coverage goes, feels pretty shaky in run support to me though. I don’t think we’d beat him over the top but he’s gettable in other ways. someone out there in the twitterverse compared epa’s with/without Milano and with/without Watson and it worked out Milano added a little more value. Granted idk how far back they went cuz Milano was absolute dogsh*t his first couple weeks back and has turned it on since lol
