  1. Not letting trubisky throw the ball behind an offensive line playing poorly is a travesty? If trubisky is sacked even if you know Josh is coming back in the next play you’re way behind the sticks. This place is wild after a loss 🤣
  2. Can josh even throw it to a big name wr if we bring one in, etc. no accuracy over 20 yards. He def could work on his aired out deep balls but the dude stripes throws in the 20,30 yard range all the time he’s had a few tough games but your post went too far imo
  3. I am almost positive they didn’t trust Martin at all there and are not gonna walk into a press conference and throw the punter under the bus. I honestly was surprised we held them to a 59 yarder and they didn’t start their drive on like the 35 😂
  4. Haha this board is so funny. Like I agree he was bad this game but this post is full of massive exaggerations and I disagree with it but I will then be labeled as blindly defending Josh 🤣
  5. What did you see in the second half that is giving you confidence we were ripping off a 5-7 yard run when Houston was trying to go out and stuff three runs to win the game in an obvious running situation? everyone complaining about stuffed first down runs claiming we would’ve ripped off a decent run to close out regulation are giving me a needed chuckle 😂 I don’t think it was ‘correct’ by any means but it wasn’t torch and pitchforks bad is what I’m saying. And obviously they’re not gonna come out in a press conference and be like ‘yea our punter sucks so we had to do something that looks stupid’ lol lets say we gained 3 yards total on 3 straight runs which I think is more than fair, I think 70-80% of the time Houston is starting in fg range after the punt
  6. 2 seconds was only the difference because Martin hit an unrealistically good punt in that situation for how his career has been tracking…there’s no way anyone was expecting that lol heck it might’ve made no difference…he might’ve hit from 64. The only way you ensure there isn’t a high probability you lose in regulation is picking up the first it really wasn’t that outrageous of a decision now that the adrenaline has worn off. It wasn’t good by any means but I don’t think it was egregiously bad your premise seems to be predicated on the idea that the Texans were playing some kind of prevent defense and it didn’t look that way at all to me. They knew if they stuffed three runs they were probably going to win and even if the bills hit a deep shot they likely weren’t going to have much of a shot at a fg I’m thinking the blowback would be even worse if we ran three times, punted, and the Texans hit a fg to win it
  7. You didn’t read that sentence properly lol I’m saying the notion that three straight runs would’ve resulted in a first is absurdly unlikely in that situation.
  8. Yea I get people being upset but that was a huge reach haha. Safety is way more likely than first down if you run three times there
  9. I have never seen a team take the football first after winning the toss in years because everyone likes to double dip…that’s like him saying ‘we like to win’ and complaining because teams now know you’re trying to win 😂
  10. We’ll never know for sure but there were many reasons to believe a run in an obvious running situation would not be successful from the second drive of the game onward
  11. They were not I don’t believe…I’ve gotta watch that mess again though to confirm 🤣.
  12. Not necessarily…Martin who is constantly torched by this board hit a really good punt there. The coaches don’t know how good the punt/return is gonna be before it happens but posters here have the power of hindsight. i think more often that not Houston is taking over immediately in fg range on three straight runs and a punt there. I also don’t get this notion that we would’ve been guaranteed to gain yardage running in an obvious running situation it was def bad but I can see it going equally as bad with three runs too
  13. I think it was a first down at all costs scenario and Mack looked like he had a step on that second down. Three straight runs were getting stuffed there also. If they trusted Martin to punt like he did and still decided to throw, they’re idiots. But i certainly wouldn’t have
  14. Now that the rage has worn off, I don’t think mcd had a lot of faith in Martin to hit a good punt there…I don’t think he punts it that well 9/10 times. Three runs and a punt they very well could’ve lost still and looked even dumber not playing for the first with Houston immediately taking over in fg range
  15. 3 straight runs and punt is usually gonna give the Texans a drive start in fairbairn fg range…really needed a first down there. I don’t blame anybody at all for being pissed at it but if we went the run punt and the Texans won things would be even worse in here a better than expected Martin punt that I’m sure mcd wasn’t expecting is skewing things a bit
  16. This all gets pretty hindsighty…it was definitely bad for sure but idk if it was egregiously bad. If you know the punt/return is gonna end where it did then yea you obviously run three times and punt. There was a very good chance that three runs and a punt would’ve given Houston a drive start in fg range already though people assuming we would’ve picked up 3-6 yards in an obvious rushing situation like that I think are reaching a little bit. Very good chance you go backwards there
  17. Everyone would’ve been mad we didn’t take one shot but once we took the shot and got an opi we were pretty much forced into that
  18. This was infinitely worse coaching from Houston than anything we have done outside of 13 seconds
  19. This whole board was calling for a blitz 😂
  20. Genuinely don’t understand how…that’s the right call
  21. Why? If they get the first it’s probably over with their kicker
  22. I don’t feel good about this one but everyone said that in the cardinals game and we won 🤣
  23. Everyone will blame it and say it was prevent defense which 100% isn’t true 😂
  24. It was a heck of a play by the defense to get back in that play…the run to the right/curl freed the receiver up (couldn’t tell who it was) and the defender slipped
  25. You want Mitch trubisky throwing a pass there?! Haha the gameday thread is out of control
