  1. I honestly think they might now…the ravens game felt like we had so many holes it wasn’t even worth blowing the picks on a trade for a wr but I think the defense might lock it down once taron comes back with how Carter and Solomon are tracking edit: might trade for a wr I mean 😄. Not make a playoff run without adding a wr I just don’t really get this take…throughout his career when he’s had to pick up the oline and average wr play he’s had a handful of terrible games. He’s got some awful games on the resume and im not even sure this is close to his worst unless you’re specifically looking at completion percentage. This isn’t Brady specific
  2. There’s been games over the years where we are stacked with talent and it has happened too…my main point is the Texans didn’t discover something ‘new’ here and if josh was a bit more on he definitely makes them pay teams try a little bit of cover 0 type stuff against us all the time and the games where it’s working for them they keep hammering it. I think any iteration of wr talent/OC we’ve had recently have all had multiple games like this in the regular season each year Some of them weren’t ‘huge’ but overall yea I don’t disagree. There were a few 10-20 yard gains where receivers just straight up ran themselves out of the play
  3. I really felt like I saw plenty of wide open receivers yesterday it was just a combination of bad throws, being on different pages, and drops…even great receivers are getting locked up a good amount of the time if olines aren’t holding up.
  4. You need to be loaded with skill position talent OR have a stout oline and chiefs and bills really don’t have either right now. That whole defensive scheme falls apart if the oline holds up
  5. Texans didn’t pull it off nearly as convincingly as the ravens. The plays were there for us to win this one we just didn’t make them. That’s the thing with man blitz, a lot of plays you’ll get home fast enough where the coverage on the back end holds up and you look like a genius. But the few times it doesn’t you SHOULD get torched for big plays. teams have been doing this to josh for years and the games the oline doesn’t hold up and Josh’s accuracy is off consistently throughout we put up absolute stinkers but most qbs would do the same. It isn’t new by any means mahomes is starting to see a similar situation and is struggling also
  6. I def think this is some of the issue and will improve…quite a few of those scramble drill plays if guys did what Josh expected there were some big play opportunities wont fix everything obviously but it will help a bit
  7. Not making that catch at all was ALL on hollins lol. If people want to play the maybe an off ish target throw prevented a reception he should’ve made from being a td game then yea maybe. But there is literally 0 excuse for not catching that ball at all
  8. He’s still on an mvp ish pace which is the crazy thing lol. A regular season Allen clunker against a great team isn’t the rarest thing in the world even when he had name brand offensive weapons and a different OC. How quickly people forget 😂. there was some luck involved but he didn’t turn the ball over which gave his team a shot down the stretch in this one. lots of blame to go around but so many of these infamous offensive shortcomings are olinemen getting blown up at the worst possible time.
  9. Haha yea I think we’re all caught up in a semantics game here. Good/great game from him yesterday and that’s an easy win but if he had help in the skill positions that off ish game from what he’s capable of would’ve been a win still. he shouldn’t have had to play great to win that one if the roster was a little better, but he did because it’s not and we lost because he wasn’t great
  10. I think the Texans dodged a few bullets where Josh could’ve made them pay which kind of shows the risk/reward of that strategy but the ravens were pretty lights out. It’s not all Josh’s fault by any means but the plays were there for him to win that Texans game. Reminded me a lot of the bills dolphins playoff game in defensive philosophy. He was a few inches off on a couple deep shots that they were just handing to us pretty frequently from winning the game easily in both cases they were gambling the pass rush would get home before receivers could free up deep and it didn’t on quite a few occasions
  11. There’s definitely some growing pains when so many new pieces come in/guys move positions. I don’t think they’re gonna transform into some offensive juggernaut by any means but even if we stand pat things will improve a bit. There’s a lot of blame to go around but we have had stretches of the oline looking awful for a few weeks then improving and that will make everything else a little easier
  12. the game was 17-10 in the late third then in the final minute of the third they went up 24-10. Wasn’t really a whole lot of time for the bengals to take their foot off the gas there lol the offensive was worse, but that doesn’t even matter here. Singling out just the defense for that loss is objectively ridiculous.
  13. Has it? A defense with freakin aj klein off the street taking 98% of the snaps against one of the most prolific offensive minds in history by some freakin miracle held up well enough for one of the premier qbs in the league to win the game with a 13 point second half. There’s absolutely no way you 100% blame the defense there 13 seconds sure, 100% blame the defense bengals game the offense was an absolute trainwreck and the defense held cincy to around their season average. afc championship year absolutely no chance we get past the ravens without a great defensive effort but only losses count apparently 😂
  14. We used to pride ourselves on how good of a fanbase we are but man are some of y’all soft lol a team with one of the highest win percentages in years losing some regular season games then losing to a team that nearly everyone is losing to in the playoffs in a few close games and you’re worried about your mental health? 😂
  15. There’s no excuse for not catching that ball…absolutely none. Then we can nitpick on the ‘a better throw would’ve been a td’ if it wasnt and there being two sides of the argument make sense using the throw as an excuse for not catching that ball is absolutely absurd. An average rec league flag football receiver makes that catch 🤣
  16. My blood was boiling on those screens lol. They should’ve been big plays if the blocking was just slightly below average minimum
  17. Yea if it just squeaked through I’d probably be a little more upset with the passing decision haha…I really think fairbairn was hitting from wherever Martin punted the ball to plus the return 99% of the time no matter what we did its a small miracle their drive started where it did
  18. Ravens game yea I’d say…Texans all those overly negative posters said we’d get destroyed and I think the hyperbole is a bit out of control lol. there were a few interesting silver linings in this one where I think we actually might make a move at wr so everyone might win after that one 🤣. Dewayne Carter looks like an absolute stud, Javon Solomon looks good, I think the ceiling for this defense is very high once taron is back where we actually could go on a run if we got a receiver. the ravens game felt pretty hopeless because the defense looked so bad too where I don’t think we’d even bother giving up future assets to plug one hole
  19. He gets criticized rightly when things go wrong but no credit when things go right which is skewing things a bit imo. I don’t think there’s many hcs or dcs that are holding the Texans to a 6 point second half with cam lewis, damar Hamlin, and first start Cole bishop on the field. Missing collins they still had diggs/dell/woods which should’ve given us massive problems on paper so my fear is the ‘Jordan poyer in Miami after leaving Buffalo’ effect is going to happen to a lot of these defensive players the second you fire mcd then you’ve got an offensive coach in here that improves the offense at a massive expense to the defense and the team gets even worse. It’s just such a huge risk when you’ve been right there against the chiefs in the playoffs where one lucky break for either team wins the game. If we start getting rocked like the cincy game in the playoffs a year or two in a row then yea definitely pull the trigger.. or if you’ve got a coach lined up that you absolutely love (do we trust pegula on something like this) it makes some sense also
  20. Its honestly crazy…the screen was the perfect call pretty much every time we called it as far as defensive looks go and the blocking was so catastrophically bad lol I’ve never seen anything like that
  21. Any stat heads out there know what the opposing teams fg percentage is on us from 59+ lol the last three I can remember were the eagles 59 yarder last year and the chiefs 62 yarder a couple years back all makes
  22. Ah yea that was it…the throwing was not the right decision for sure but this notion that the Texans expected it so a run would’ve worked is completely wrong imo. I think there’s a very good chance they stuff three runs for no gain or a loss. so we definitely did the wrong thing and I’m all for people being angry but I think the coaching staff overcorrected for the situation where we get stuffed, kick an average Martin punt from the end zone and lose without the Texans even needing to run a play before the fg. it’s definitely on the coach for not trusting the punter who ended up getting a good punt off at minimum any way you look at it because he did punt it well. If they knew what the Texans drive start would be ahead of time there’s no way they pass
  23. They couldn’t run on obvious running downs at all too for the record haha not saying you’re wrong though 🤣. I haven’t quite given up on the offense yet, I think SOME of it is the new guys not really knowing what Josh likes them to do on those scramble drill type plays yet which there were a lot of because of the oline play. Samuel was wide open on one of those final three throws and Josh either completely missed him or thought he would sit and not continue running across the field. there was an earlier play where Mack continued running across to the opposite side of where Josh scrambled to despite being wide open if he sat in the middle of the field
  24. Some of this ‘blue chip’ business I’d argue is media biased. Benford is playing great the last year plus but gets no play from the national media just as an example. If he was in a market like New Jersey 😂 he would get his own cool nickname and be talked about all the time and then you have kind of the opposite situation where the media thinks someone like James cook is great but posters here don’t so he doesn’t qualify for blue chip status either then sprinkle in guys like tre white and von miller playing great then having career altering leg injuries, Milano missing a few playoff runs, etc. I’m pretty sure in that afc championship all our receivers were absolutely mangled too lol If things get really bad this season then sure blow everything up but losing mostly squeakers to the chiefs with the pretty bad luck we’ve had doesn’t warrant that yet imo
  25. I mentioned the chiefs because I’ve spent a lot of time doing exactly what you’re suggesting before 🤣. They hit on some picks years ago that now command big contracts and have been mostly struggling to add talent with that limiting factor…parity has been eroding a previously insanely talented team despite dumping tyreek for even more picks. last year they were the healthiest team in the playoffs by a considerable margin which I believe evened out some of their deficiencies and this year it’s been evening out so we’ll see how it goes down the stretch
