Xavier Worthy: So far, not much more than a gadget guy
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Still doesn’t look like much more than a marquise Goodwin type to me who could’ve had a pretty solid career if it wasn’t for injuries to be fair…I feel like there isn’t a good reason why he shouldn’t be heavily featured with what the chiefs have going on on offense and he just doesn’t seem to be much more than a burner i think the chiefs probably selected a decent enough player but they really needed tackle help bad and worthy was kind of unnecessary. Worthy didn’t really make much sense for us either we needed a more well rounded wr that was a big physical target -

I like to think he’s the same guy pretending to be two different guys 😂 -

I really don’t think so unless they get a ton of help back…winning even three straight games against good teams is tough sledding and these injuries have given them some big time areas to exploit. Last year they were just absurdly healthy compared to the other teams -

Lots of guys got second shots at head coach recently from the defensive side…Quinn, Morris, and Bowles. I feel like there’s a defensive resurgence coming it’s been pretty interesting. Spags has been saying he wants another shot recently but he’s just too old now for anyone to roll the dice -

In a weird way I feel like Denver could force a very unpredictable and strange game too lol -

He’d be a head coach again if he wasn’t over 60 -

I just cannot understand that…people have been saying ‘defense doesn’t matter just look at the chiefs’ and I’m like uhhhh 😂 -

The offense just has to be ok and not turn it over because the defense can take care of itself and even create points on its own they do seem to be paying the piper for being freakishly healthy last playoff run though -

It is pretty crazy I don’t want to say it’s some conspiracy or anything but the refs essentially stole a game from the bengals cuz Trey Hendrickson got held all game long and they called it about 10% as often as they should’ve The mute button is your friend lol -
Mini rebuild. Why is anyone that surprised?
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Blackbeard's topic in The Stadium Wall
How are they exceptions exactly? More offensive minded head coaches hired means more fired which means more available for OC which was point 1. They’re not all getting hc jobs and disappearing lol you made it sound like there will never be anyone to do the job. then the second point was spagnuolo almost assuredly gets a head coaching job and promoted out of DC if he wasn’t so old, it has nothing to do with him being defense minded. And I listed multiple other guys that are coaching right now who followed that same trajectory with less success than spags. then the third point was I think we may be seeing a swing back to defense look at what happened the last hiring cycle. It’s not like there’s some common convention that’s it’s a no no to hire defensive minded head coaches now that only Buffalo doesn’t know 😂. really don’t think you’ve disproven anything here -
Worst (regular season) coached game in the entire McD era
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
They thought 3 runs would get little to no gain, we’d punt, and Martin would likely set them up in fg range anyway. We literally complain about Martin and punt coverage all the time here lol it came down to let’s give the guy we’re paying buckets of money to a proactive chance to ensure ot or who knows maybe we steal one rather than Martin likely losing us the game. Martin kicked a good one though and made the whole situation look even more odd 🤣. I absolutely would’ve ran three times personally and I’m all for flaming them for it because of how it went down…they are the face of all the in game decisions. But like…it wasn’t the craziest most out of nowhere decision in the world lol. it circles back to them any way you look at it anyway because if they’re not trusting the punt or the punt coverage that’s gotta be coaching and/or front office related anyway -

I mean the issue for me is you need a coach that’s not only good but more or less a scheme fit or you’re probably taking a big step backwards early especially on the defensive side to maybe take a step forward when they rebuild the roster over a few years. I’d argue a new coach at this point probably wastes more josh than what is happening currently then a lot of teams get in the constant cycle of hiring and firing coaches every 3 years because they never get the team quite built the way they want it and someone else takes over and starts the process all over again -
Random talking head says something about the Bills
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
See that makes sense to me at least haha this situation was honestly pretty justifiable…doesn’t mean other stuff was too though. But making it sound like it’s way worse than anything he’s ever done is wild my main argument against firing mcd is I really get the vibe the defense completely implodes unless you bring in a dc that runs a similar scheme but everyone complains about the scheme anyway so I don’t think people want that either 😂. I’m not sure this is a playoff team anymore in the short term once he’s out -

Playing scared 🤣. Not at all to a fault in this case. He trusted his big money qb to either give them a chance to win or ensure OT more than relying on shaky Sam Martin to keep them out of immediate fg range after three straight telegraphed runs. Not the right call and when something goes wrong he’s the face so I get the frustration. But it really wasn’t that shocking of a decision the too many men on the broncos fg was much worse than this imo and that didn’t pick up much steam -

I’m at a weird spot with this…if they can mcd unless they bring in a coach that runs the same defensive scheme I don’t know that this is even a playoff team for the first year or two until they turn the defensive roster over. So it seems weird to draw the line at a one year dump a few contracts but be competitive ish situation. It’s not like kc has been slapping up around in the playoffs. The bills have given them as good a run as anybody firing mcd probably causes a longer wait in josh Allen’s prime logically -
Not challenging Dalton sideline catch or Cook TD
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
A lot of his body came down at the same time his elbow did and his elbow didn’t even look like it was completely in bounds…I at least get the concern with the timeout and such on the cook play but there’s still a 0.0% chance that’s overturned and im assuming we didht know the timeout would be needed on that next play? I get the concern though strategically the Kincaid no challenge questioning from a game strategy perspective is insane -
Not challenging Dalton sideline catch or Cook TD
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
That’s not at all the only criteria for the other side of the argument haha what. the criteria is if your offense gets another shot with limited time in the half, having an extra timeout is massive. Throwing timeouts away on frivolous challenges frequently costs teams points in scenarios like that. Teams are driving to close out a half all the time and run out of time and are forced to settle for 3. in fact, we correctly criticize McDermott for making the OPPOSITE decision from what he did from time to time 🤣. He absolutely made the right call there if we didn’t get the stop and people complained we saved the timeouts and our offense didn’t even get a shot, I’d understand it a little more -

Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
As gung ho as I am that that was objectively the right call to not challenge the Kincaid play, I think if that’s called a catch on the field it might’ve stood. Absolutely no shot it’s an overturned no catch though. Refs kind of boned us on that one that call could’ve gone either way on the field…I think if we’re at home that’s probably ruled a catch -

Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Can’t remember the premise because I genuinely didn’t even think that play was close/controversial but I don’t know that they knew they’d need to use a timeout on the next play would be my guess. If we called a timeout deciding if we should challenge it’s certainly odd and makes sense to talk about but the result would’ve been the same -

That one makes more sense to question…I don’t think the play was even close personally and it absolutely would not have been overturned and the timeout taken was more coincidence than anything…can’t remember the exact circumstance because it didn’t seem very controversial to me at the time He’s a good passing threat imo but that definitely sheds some light on the screen situation…I could not figure out how we had numbers and were getting beat so badly every time lol I think every one of those screen calls seemed to be correct but we just could not execute at all and I just didn’t have the heart to rewatch them 😂
