They rarely turn it over in the playoffs. Seems like Allen is making better decisions when things are at least going somewhat well but he got a little careless in the Texans game so I can see the concern. i do think some of this is Allen’s bad luck on defenders never dropping his ints reverting to the mean again too.. it was absolutely crazy for awhile haha like I’d watch a chiefs game and mahomes was hitting defenders between the numbers and they’d drop it. Allen was getting diving/toe tapping ints pulled off against him with regularity 🤣

I’ve never liked a post faster 🤣

We would be absolutely destroying the bills franchise if we fired our defensive head coach who’s defense is playing really well 6 days before a huge division game for first place that that coach has a lot of success against and an absolutely terrible offensive coordinator gets to keep his job. Straight up destruction on these boards which I’m imagining is what’s happening in jets land. it is the second dumbest move I have ever seen made by a franchise whether they win the game or not with number 1 being the browns Watson contract I think they should stick with him and fire him in the offseason if it doesn’t work out 100% absolutely irrefutable fact. Better late than never doesn’t mean mid season in the midst of a division race 😂 there is no universe where Saleh should’ve been fired before Hackett it’s sheer stupidity on unheard of levels. Even if ulbricht is great he still has the Hackett problem that Saleh has…the defense is pretty much at maximum output as it is what do you gain what they’ve done is forced a good defensive play caller to now have more responsibilities on top of what he’s good at for absolutely no reason leading up to their biggest game of the year
-
This is kind of a self defeating argument based on your assumption the Saleh jets were not going to win this game. I’d argue the Saleh jets should’ve been favored in this game and very well could’ve been sitting as the division leader on Monday night. Why add all this upheaval into the mix and risk that? They have literally everything to lose lol it’s not like Saleh has struggled against buffalo in the past
-
Have they? They have huge X’s and O’s deficiencies on the offensive line who can’t protect their qb who has lost most of his mobility. The defense has been great and is second in the league in yards allowed despite their offense not helping them out at all because it is lacking talent in key areas. I think they’re right where they should be and probably could’ve lost that titans game too
-
I think we have the easiest strength of schedule remaining in the league I just read somewhere I’ll investigate lol. SF just lost to Arizona and Seattle lost to the giants and probably should’ve lost by more. Also our home/road split was pretty lopsided early yea there’s some hard games that we 60/40 lose but there’s a bunch of layups too jets have Seahawks also so that one is kind of a wash…they get tua dolphins one extra time too he’s rumored to be back week 8

I’m pretty curious as to why to be honest 🤣. Qb forcing his head coach out which in all likelihood is what happened is not gonna inspire a team to play hard. Totally respect your differing opinion I’m just curious what it is lol I’ve seen quite a few of these team playing hard for a new head coach games and it’s a tanking team pulling out all the stops and upsetting somebody most of the time that they win.. usually the team feels responsible for letting their coach down but that’s not really the case here
-
Must win for the jets yea but losing the road away game isn’t the end all be all for the bills. Same sort of thing happened with Miami a few years ago. our schedule lightens up quite a bit soon
-
It’s apples and oranges…the jets are not tanking and will not be pulling absolutely unexpected plays out of their butts because why the heck not 😂. Severely doubt whatever happened behind the scenes did anything but divide the team further too. If they played their normal jets football they had a very good chance to win this one. There’s no way this move did anything but hurt their win percentage. we may lose it anyway but it won’t be because they fired their coach a team firing their defensive coach who’s defense was performing well in the midst of a division race is completely unprecedented…teams are 0-0 in this situation
-
It was a game the jets had a very good chance of winning with their current coach though…usually what you’re thinking of is a tanking team with nothing to lose pulling out all the stops and upsetting somebody that was not the case here
-
That feels like a gm thing more than a Saleh thing and I don’t think Rodgers can get him fired mid season but who knows 🤣 if Saleh didn’t want Adams it’s pretty doubtful Douglas does. And if Douglas wanted him and Saleh didn’t it probably happens anyway
-
They are reportedly ‘shocked’ Is this sarcasm? Haha I mean wait to see if the jets go on a run at least before this post because this shock firing is getting universally panned right now 😂 ulbrich will probably do a decent job but that upheaval in a division race makes no sense
-
Hearing he got escorted out I don’t see why mcd wouldn’t try that 🤣. They’re clearly worried it pissed him off enough that he’d take something with him
-
Yea their performance the last two games seemed like the right time to bounce Hackett but they fired Saleh so the whole thing is pretty interesting
-
McDermott needs a end of game coordinator

Nobody cares about defense even though there seems to be a big time swing back towards it the last year or so. I think the second mcd goes we quickly realize a lot of our defensive players are extremely well coached scheme fits and the defense completely falls apart when a new coach brings in a new system. Maybe the offense improves but I don’t personally think it’ll be enough to improve the team in the short term 3 or so years of a new coach then maybe you’ve got a shot to outperform mcd if you get the hire right. Just doesn’t seem worth it until our playoff exits stop being extremely narrow losses to the chiefs while missing our most important defensive talent. Once that changes though and we start seeing more of that bengals playoff game then yea pull the trigger -
Maybe Saleh wanted Hackett gone but Rodgers stepped in and woody sides with Rodgers? Just spitballing here but it’s possible
-
Yea that definitely could be and I’m not sure how the flight fiddles with things either. I don’t think they knew they were firing him until very recently but maybe the announcement timing isn’t solid evidence of that its coming out now he got escorted out by security, wasn’t allowed to address the players, and the defense is shocked by it which is all really interesting
-
Yea that’s possible…do the coaches completely take Monday off though? I’m genuinely not sure. Tuesday at 11 seems like it puts you a bit behind the 8 ball I feel like where I’d probably wait til after the big division game coming up to do it. I think there was probably some big Saleh vs rodgers showdown that happened today that caused it anyway and they did it as early as they could but my main point was it doesn’t make a lot of sense that it was specifically game performance related
-
Compounding dumb mistakes…i still think he’s a good coach but he’s so old and rodgers is so old…maybe you’re good for a year or so before they both retire? 🤣
-
None of those teams puzzlingly fired the head coach before a huge division game for first place so I’m not sure this applies. There’s no way Saleh being removed has united the team. It very likely made whatever rift there is even worse
-
Yea that’s definitely possible
-
I literally cannot even fathom what else it could be haha. Rodgers must’ve told woody Saleh isn’t letting him do everything he wants to do. There’s no way Saleh had no supporters on this team so it’s gotta cause a divide. a lot of the times a team feels like they’re failing their head coach that they like, he gets fired, and it’s a shock to the system and they pick it up for a few games. I don’t think that’s what is happening here. there’s probably a Saleh supporting camp and a Rodgers supporting camp and the Saleh side is pissed
-
I feel like this practice is pretty overblown…the jets would likely use the knowledge Saleh gave us against us knowing he’s going to do it and you basically end up in the same spot as you didn’t get any info at all it would be pretty funny though 😂
-
I don’t think this is your standard ‘the whole team is united under a new head coach’ situation. Its pretty reasonable rodgers forced Saleh out and the team is in even more disarray now because Rodgers sees himself as the real head coach. the firing makes absolutely no sense otherwise.. in fact, I think this turned a 50/50 loss into an 80/20 win if you’re gonna fire a head coach mid season, it’s happening IMMEDIATELY after the most recent game unless there is massive massive dysfunction which completely forces your hand. You don’t wait until after the prep would’ve started for the next game. If the team was straight up tanking it wouldn’t matter much, but there’s no way they’re tanking with Rodgers
-
I don’t think this decision is primarily based on the play on the field at all. Has to be a behind the scenes type thing
