How much better is the Ravens team on paper than the Bills?
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Lost's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed…I think the gap is smaller than I originally thought though now that I have recovered emotionally haha I think the ravens have just been signing veteran corners to one year deals for a bit too long and it’s gonna get bumpy there. Their pass rush is lookin like it could take a step back this year too -
Even if we completely ignore the suspended defensive linemen as being a personal choice to sign a suspended player, you do know an objectively far less physically talented rookie corner who has never played a down in the nfl started opposite Christian benford right? like I get hating is a full time job and respect the hustle but I might’ve done some minor fact checking before hitting someone with the “lol” 😂. The corner comment was just borderline lazy

Josh Allen, the most expensive hotdog in the league
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
Falcons are there…Seahawks are missing though and they are actually one of the most expensive lol the dov kleiman account is all clickbait now, guarantee you they picked the most expensive specialty hot dog price they could find and compared it to everyone else’s regular dog price to stir the pot -
I think the nfl analyst community was really excited to have that Lamar mvp revenge storyline and it got snatched away late and they were just kind of stunned lol People talked me down to guys get away with dpi on both teams but there were some egregious officiating mistakes that cost us a lot of potential points last night independent of that. Flowers definitely dropped that ball before halftime I am absolutely baffled how that was not reviewed and collingsworth just said ‘yup he got it’ lol I do think the Coleman force-out went beyond ‘both teams get away with it’ too the slide the analysts at least went into details about…that was just a really unfortunate on field ruling because it likely would’ve stood on review despite being obviously a wrong call and when you’ve got a 3rd and 1 anyway in a game like that you just can’t risk the timeout

No Preseason For Starters and Slow Start
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to saundena's topic in The Stadium Wall
Rewatching now and a lot more underneath/behind the LOS stuff worked than I remember from watching it live 😂. and of the ones that didn’t some of them were pretty well set up the ravens just tackled their asses off I think without that ridiculous check into a quick run on third down which I’m almost entirely sure was Josh’s decision it would’ve changed the early vibes a bit. The ravens short yardage run defense has always been excellent which seems to really strain our offense -

Is Jaire Alexander getting a pass based on name only? He seems like their version of Rasul Douglas hanging around a year too long lol not sure if injuries wrecked his career or what but he’s been the worst player on the field whenever I see him recently I feel like. Even when he was good he was wildly overrated imo awuzie is pretty bad also but they got him on vet minimum at least -

We may have the same problem haha so maybe this shouldn’t come from us but I think the ravens pass rush is pretty mediocre.. I think the bills actually had some juice there last night but it’s way too early to tell. A team that can bottle up Henry around the LOS is going to beat them in the playoffs every year imo because there’s only hof qbs late in the playoffs and they aren’t gonna have a ton of trouble moving the ball they have a pretty big cb problem too -

I really think cbs we are and that showed up pretty big last night if not making all the difference…Alexander got absolutely bullied down the stretch it was embarrassing. Our third string cb2 in his first nfl start significantly outplayed him qb I’m going josh too -

Are we talkin the bills at full strength or what we saw last night? Jaire Alexander is a big name but was absolutely miserable and looks washed…I’d probably take all corner spots(taron being the third) from the bills if we’re going just roster to roster tbh strong outplayed Alexander last night even and idk if strong is even second string when Tre/hairston are back some of it gets pretty murky based on matchups and it is why the ravens have struggled against the chiefs every time out imo. Someone like Henry against a team that can’t hem him in before he gets going is much more valuable than cook but if you’re playing someone like the chiefs I’d honestly take cook I think.. even in the game last night where our run defense was terrible there were quite a few run stuffs putting them in an early down hole and he doesn’t bring you much of anything in the passing game -

Has anyone rewatched this game yet? My blood is boiling watching what looks to me like a pretty clear flowers drop with under 2 minutes to go in the first half that was seemingly not even reviewed. I don’t see much talk about it though so maybe I’m crazy lol collingsworth was like ‘yea he got it’ and I must not have been looking super close watching it live and completely missed it 😂. Might’ve cost us 4 extra points…should’ve been plenty of time for a td -
One extremely soft PI call compared to what the ravens (and bills to some extent later on) were getting away with lol. That call hurt to watch during my rewatch right now
-
A lot of times the short passes early were called/checked into against the right looks we just didn’t execute well…something that has stood out so far on a rewatch. Ravens were shedding blocks and stuffing guys in the open field most of the night though…a few times receivers dropped balls/lost their footing when catching the ball on top of pretty dreadful blocking on that behind the LOS stuff there were more successful quick throws/screens than I remembered in this one now that I’m rewatching. The big problem was the short yardage runs

Has anyone confirmed this? I see this meme everywhere and still think it’s complete BS lol the account on twitter that posted this is just a clickbait troll now. Likely just put something scandalous in there to get people talking. Haven’t got a hotdog at Highmark in a year+ but I think a regular hotdog was like 6 bucks not too long ago it’s possible it doubled in price in a very short amount of time but I doubt it missed an earlier post confirming it, yea I figured its bs -

It was such a weird game…most plays were either a stuff or a td on the defensive side 😂. oddly enough if the game is gonna go bad on defense against a team like that that’s probably what you want cuz it extends the game at least haha I really think there’s potential on defense tbh im like 25% of the way through a rewatch. It’ll get completely overshadowed for good reason but that’s really the only time the pass rush has ever somewhat showed up against a great team. Feels like the ravens didn’t want to risk a big sack/incomplete passes/turnovers late because the pass rush actually was playing quite well.. that’s my silver lining. If Dorian strong is pretty good that’s some really nice depth too -

They need mahomes to be the center of attention. I think it’s becoming pretty clear that Josh is at worst as good of a qb as mahomes and you can probably make the case he’s better. I really think Josh did more back in our shaky oline days than mahomes is doing now -

I’m looking crazier by the year repeating this over and over and if we’ve got our most important defensive players and still lose I will eat the largest crow imaginable 😂. But the chiefs have had absolutely silly levels of injury luck against us…they have been obscenely healthy by playoff standards the last two years and we have lost the most important guy on our defense early in the game against them or the week before in an area without a lot of depth in back to back years it’s absolutely nuts. Two matchups ago we actually had decent LB depth but they pretty much all got injured against pit it was absurd. I really think God is a chiefs fan haha like the alternative where the bills have that injury advantage just for illustration purposes the bills would be very healthy and the chiefs would be missing Chris jones they really exploited benford going down last year then got exposed by philly imo…don’t think they’re in the superbowl without that injury -

Oh yea I think my point is more…we’re comparing these things to an average nfl game and saying they went badly.. but the ravens do those same things to us every single meeting to an even larger degree which is super important contextually. I can’t remember the offense even looking decent in any of the other wins against Baltimore…the second best statistical game we had a dreadful first half. They normally hold us around 250 total yards and we get embarrassed in the trenches. -

Leaving down two scores in a huge game against a team infamous for late collapses is absolutely shameful and directly impacts the bills lol. it was honestly pretty refreshing seeing a player bring that up. Seemed like it was mostly casuals that left early at least because it still sounded pretty loud it’s just really starting to feel like people are angry we won because it cut in on the doomposting 😂. -

Offensive line/offense really weren’t that bad considering the opponent even before the Oliver fumble recovery. that was on track to be the best offensive performance against Baltimore we’ve ever had even if the 4th quarter was a little more realistic lol. Last season we were held under 300 yards both times (under 250 even the first time), 2022 was a similar but lesser game where the ravens turning it over late opened the door and we did all our damage down the stretch, 2021 afc divisional we were held under 250 yards again, 2019 we almost got held under 200 yards, 2018 we almost got held under 150 yards 😂 but that was Nate peterman days. They have bottled up the downfield passing game with pretty much any combination of WRs we’ve ever had -
The jets game is a much better indicator of how we are at stopping the run against a non superhuman team imo…I think we’ll have a better idea of where we’re at after next week the ravens offense is disgustingly good and I think they’re gonna give the whole league problems this year. You just gotta hold on for dear life in the red zone…between the 20s they are very tough to stop. Even against kc last year in a game they only scored 20 points they had over 450 yards of offense and outgained the chiefs by 100

Josh correctly checked into some of the short passes ( the ravens just tackled out of their minds) and incorrectly checked into a short 3rd down run it looked like. The ravens started playing a bit more vanilla trying to keep everything in front of them and seemed like they started to gas out down the stretch which made downfield passing much easier Sometimes those short passes are all the defense is giving you and your receivers have to find a way to extend plays. not to mention probably the biggest play of the night was a huge screen pass -
The team wasn’t really that close to full strength on defense granted some of it was due to multiple suspensions and not injuries lol
-
Yea that could be I’m gonna watch again and look closer…the ravens dbs really seem to take it a step further to me in real time but I’ll try to be as objective as possible on a rewatch 😁 feels like the bills dbs will put hands on guys and not really grab or turn them much and the ravens push the envelope a bit further and will grab a lot of jerseys
-
They hiked the ball immediately with no snap count on that play lol that was pretty crafty…I’m assuming he was supposed to creep down closer to the line pre snap really don’t know how guys that get paid millions of dollars to commentate missed that one. Not a full excuse for the defense but the play definitely wasn’t drawn up quite that way which makes it sting a little less
