I went through how different coaches/qbs have fared against the mahomes chiefs in another post and it is absolutely shocking. You’d think the bills never beat them and everyone else does the way josh is talked about but the bills are really the only team having any kind of success against them at all lol

He’s good in coverage and the guy he replaced was pretty bad. It’s definitely a notable upgrade as far as pass coverage goes, feels pretty shaky in run support to me though. I don’t think we’d beat him over the top but he’s gettable in other ways. someone out there in the twitterverse compared epa’s with/without Milano and with/without Watson and it worked out Milano added a little more value. Granted idk how far back they went cuz Milano was absolute dogsh*t his first couple weeks back and has turned it on since lol

I feel like I get the vibe you’re going for and don’t necessarily disagree, but Baltimore had so much talent and was on paper such a bad matchup for us that I think that trumps the whole ‘kc has that magic quality to come up with a clutch play’ thing and Baltimore was definitely the tougher game imo. does not in any way mean this game is easy though or we will definitely win or anything like that. It could still easily go either way.

I have never been to a wedding that didn’t play Mr brightside 😂. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen a larger collection of people that were not Mr brightside fans hahaha I thought I’d be just on the older side of posters here but I must be wrong

He struggled on some routine throws in college at times and had a pretty bad performance in the passing drills in the combine and didn’t run the 40. the ‘running back trying to play quarterback’ label followed him far too long into his nfl career imo and maybe that was racially motivated, but I think trying to paint it as ‘he was disrespected in the draft for no game related reasons’ is a bit of a stretch imo Josh’s stock likely rose post combine because he showed off absolutely insane arm talent and ran a pretty respectable 40 considering he had the worst running form for a track event I’ve ever seen 😂. Im sure scouts knew his offensive line and passcatchers were absolutely dreadful in Wyoming also so the completion percentage type numbers were probably taken with a grain of salt

That 2018 bills team was one of the most talentless groups I can remember and josh probably would’ve dragged them to a .500 record if he didn’t miss time it was very much a baptism by fire for Josh. It makes me chuckle a bit when teams assume their guy will make a Josh Allen leap after a bad rookie year not realizing a lot of what caused Josh Allen’s bad rookie year lol

It’s kind of sad to see cuz both these guys definitely proved all their doubters wrong and are similar in a lot of ways.

Beasley and Diggs felt like they got manned up fairly easily come playoff time as well. I think that’s why we built so heavy into running the football. I remember a nice Diggs game against Miami but the cincy/kc type teams never had much trouble with him

Oh 100% agree there no question…but it wasn’t like we were often getting stopped in the backfield for a sizeable loss. I didn’t specifically check for this but the only tfl I can remember in the second half was a 1 yard loss on first down after a nice run and we ended up converting the second and 11 ironically lol one of the big strengths of the bills running game is it very very rarely loses yards. my main point was we werent really behind the sticks that handful of times we stalled out and we couldn’t do anything in the passing game really. That doesn’t really bode well for the argument that we could’ve thrown the ball all over them if we wanted to imo. I can see why we didn’t want to 100% give up on the run. Some got stuffed but some hit for 7-8-10 yards stuff like that. Was pretty similar to the passing game in that regard

I think consistently watching all our WRs get held in the playoffs for years because that’s just how playoff football goes had us make a huge effort to improve the running game and now that is the strength of the team.. the way Baltimore was playing on defense even in the peak bills passing /mediocre rushing offense days I think we would’ve had a pretty terrible time moving the ball through the air on Sunday. The running game gave us a chance. whether he should or not is a different story 😂, but a lot of decisions mcd makes point to him trusting the defense imo

More often than not that’s what playoff football has felt like to me, DBs holding their a** off, olinemen holding their ** off, and refs just lettin all these guys fistfight eachother basically lol

I believe the idea behind it is you’re supposed to get compensation for developing the coaches. I’ve kind of always liked Glenn more as a potential head coach also tbh lol. It’ll be interesting to see what happens. I’m sure this board will argue about it for years 😂. Interested to see who the OC ends up being

It feels like we overvalue creativity in playcalling a bit and Aaron Glenn seems like a do your job/nothing fancy kind of guy. He’s kind of the anti Ben Johnson in that way so it doesn’t feel exciting but that doesn’t mean it’s not gonna work out

Matchup wise this game feels like a slam dunk which instantly makes me nervous cuz any time I feel like I know what’s gonna happen the opposite happens 😂

They all got pancaked instantly too haha I don’t think any of them were even really standing when Lamar got that pass off 😂

Well yea 15-14 with us running 5 times in a row during the goal line sequence and once to close out the game. Every other series of downs was virtually 2 passes and a run idk what you think you’re gonna do in the passing game if you can’t ‘overcome’ a 1-2 yard run with two passing plays lol that’s a pretty standard nfl situation. the two failed drives leading to quick punts were: #1) 1 yard run then back to back incompletions #2) pass-pass-pass-run-pass-pass (weird screen audible) Long field goal drive was a little more even but we broke multiple good runs. When we got bogged down it was back to back incompletions on 2nd and 8 there were virtually as many stuffed runs as 5+ yard runs in the second half, and quite a few of the 1-2 yard gain type runs had some execution problems much like the pass to Kincaid and strange te screen audible had execution problems. Not sure if the ravens baited josh into that one but it looked like Knox couldve cut it outside and didn’t

I think they mistakenly believe they’re gonna win certain 1 on 1 matchups on the dline so there’s no way what the bills are doing to these other teams can happen to them then it happens to them lol. The ravens looked really caught off guard by it as well. Some execution issues late on our part in the running game saved them from getting run right out of the building imo. we make a big deal about ‘oh this scheme was bad that playcall was bad’ but at the end of the day sometimes your guys just get beat by who they’re lined up against

People definitely forget Flacco was really good that year and was an absolute monster in the playoffs for sure…whenever I hear that ravens superbowl talked about its ’they didn’t even have a qb’

Seems kind of crazy but those advanced espn metrics have ed just outside the top 10 in DT pass rush win rate and 9th overall in run stop win rate lol. Idk if I believe that but he looked good to me last week which is a good sign they’ve got the bills dline at 6th in pass rush win rate and 5th in run stop win rate overall somehow 😂 Who’s the all pro tackle? Thuney is an amazing guard but he’s an ok tackle. Or do you just mean in general terms haha

I feel like the issue with the bills usually is they don’t have an elite pass rusher that is gonna cause problems for even the best olinemen in the league. They’ve got quite a few solid-really good ones though that can win consistently with a good matchup and there should be good matchups out there

I’ve got a feeling he ain’t signing…seems kinda like a ‘make the real team I’m interested in more desperate’ move. Jets might end up with some coach you’d love for them even more still haha

I feel like they go on sale a lot earlier than that and you get a refund if the game doesn’t happen.
