  1. I think it’s pretty irrelevant in either direction ref wise…seems like they just let teams play in the playoffs or in marquee matchups in the regular season. Regular season when there’s a tossup judgement call and a great team playing a mediocre or bad one they definitely seem to lean the better teams way though. The pass protection point is a double edged sword as mahomes was in a much better situation on that front than Allen was for the bulk of these guys careers. both these guys are amazing and both of them are great in the playoffs…there’s no way to know what would happen if they swapped teams so it’s impossible to rank them imo
  2. A Lamar stats only argument isn’t even super strong…Josh and Lamar are tied in total tds, Lamar has one more total turnover, they’re separated by about 100 passing yards and 250ish rushing yards. People making it sound like Lamar is miles ahead statistically are strictly lookin at passing stats. Lamar leads in total yards but not by some ungodly amount I can’t see Josh not getting it
  3. Were those all first half of the season? I don’t think the offense had quite found its footing yet early on. Ah dolphins was week 9 that was a weird game that really swung on that fluky INT that should’ve been a td
  4. He looked noticeably hobbled at least one of those times there were questions about whether he’d play and he ended up playing through it. He definitely does seem like someone who will play up an injury though can’t argue that 😂 if he does have a nagging injury though trotting him out behind those bad OTs seems like a bit of a risk
  5. Oh yea I can’t argue that…it’s really tough to feel good about any playoff game. Even if your team has a sizable edge there’s still a 40% chance you lose
  6. Tough their game is before the Steelers game…if the Steelers beat the ravens before the chiefs played I don’t think I’d risk mahomes’ health because possibly sliding from the 1 to the 2 if you lose and then lose again and very very likely avoiding the ravens in round 2 really doesn’t seem so bad they can’t have that extra info though cuz their game is first
  7. Lol I addressed that directly in the post, friend. 4 starters and 2 other depth pieces that got forced onto the field were out I am 100% ok with altering the wording to that and would make exactly the same point. I would’ve rather lost another starter than freakin Spector getting forced onto the field that was tough to watch…so I don’t really understand getting hung up on the semantics. Williams may technically be a depth piece now but he had way more value in that moment than losing a starting DE or DT or something like that
  8. Well yea and their defense got absolutely roasted too lol. I should’ve said 6 players…although the further you go down the depth chart the worse it gets so I don’t think that’s a huge distinction no Douglas, rapp or Hamlin to start the game. Milano and Williams went down midgame as did bishop. I’m gonna rewatch the game anyway so I’ll check to see if I missed one. Thought we were down 7 players while watching it but my count is now 6. I think Williams came back briefly and left again a rash of injuries forced lewis into a tough role and Spector got forced in and boy did the lions pick on those two guys much like the bills picked on the lions injured guy replacements aka tons of points
  9. They really weren’t in any worse shape than we were the second half of that game…our guys just got dinged up though and will be back or we’d probably be doing the same lol We were out 3 safeties, 2 linebackers and a corner provided im not missing anyone it was hard to keep up with 😂
  10. Chargers loss opened the door for the dolphins a tad…it’s still a very long shot though
  11. After halftime…when things really started getting out of hand on the defensive side 😂. We opened the game down 3 and there were a bunch of injuries during the game…commentators did not do a great job of informing the audience in all cases though. Maybe starters isn’t the perfect word but backups and backups of backups were going down in some cases which is even worse. from the gameday thread it seemed like most of our fans didn’t even know how many guys were out…that was a straight up patchwork defense they went after Spector a ton who was only playing because Milano and Williams went down and bishop also went down which forced cam Lewis over to safety who got victimized too. We were wayyyyy down the depth chart at LB and safety.
  12. What nfl defense would be normal removing 6 or 7 starters all at lb/db against the lions to be fair lol that’s when things started getting really out of hand on the defensive side
  13. That’s kinda the same thing in this context lol ‘just wait until Baltimore comes in and it’s windy they’ll destroy us’ was the suggestion but the same people have been saying Baltimore couldn’t do anything on offense because of wind for a few years now 😂
  14. Yea I find that very irritating…even this year the defense has been a wreck injury wise for long stretches. it’s the same ‘kc owns us in the playoffs’ talk with no asterisk despite kc being pretty much completely healthy and our entire lb room being gone last year.. earlier in the year last year when we had a huge game against Miami our entire defensive backfield was out and there were no extra props when we beat them
  15. Don’t the negative posters here swear we only beat Baltimore in the playoffs because of wind? I’ve seen that sentiment echoed many many times on here lol
  16. 10 second runoff was 100% the right call imo. Trade 10 seconds for an extra play of using the entire field. He definitely makes mistakes for sure but a decent amount of criticisms I see are 50/50 judgement calls where either side can be justified or the criticism is straight up wrong.
  17. They can be built but that’s a bit of a risk with your head coaching career lol not a lot of guys get two chances and I’d be looking at cincy like ‘I could squeeze a little bit more effectiveness out of that offense maybe and still lose games’ youre basically leaving your head coaching career up to whoever you bring in for DC and the team is already really good at what you specialize in. Maybe he jumps at the chance if it opens haha idk seems a little risky though
  18. The lengths y’all will reach to take a shot at McDermott is crazy to me lol there’s plenty of valid things to criticize him for but saying stuff like this just feels like you’re being straight up disingenuous and will attack him for anything and everything
  19. I feel like Ben will go somewhere with a pretty good defense already built
  20. Did Marvin Lewis ever miss the playoffs though? I could be wrong but that felt like a long string of first round exits
  21. Yea I don’t entirely disagree, I do think that burrow is in the ideal qb scenario to pump up stats though so losses kind of have to matter to some extent. Look at what Josh has done the last few weeks when forced into shootouts he could’ve had a whole season of that if his defense was worse consistently I don’t think it’s supposed to be a stats only award it’s more of an eye test thing and josh had all that ‘the bills are done this season without Diggs’ talk from all these nfl analysts that are also the voters for the award lol without that Lamar is probably closer
  22. Yea recency bias is a thing and he basically burned the voters twice with pretty bad playoff performances after they voted him mvp. Also I think he’s seen as really good but elevated a bit by roster talent where Josh is seen as really really good and elevating roster talent they also openly used ‘loss totals matter’ to disqualify Josh last year so it will be hard to justify giving it to a qb with 5+ losses now
  23. The ravens lost to the raiders and the browns and their record against good teams isn’t any better. Eagles had a few weird losses and giving an MVP to a rb takes a ton. Barkley is a shoe-in for offensive player of the year though i really can’t remember a team beating the best team in each conference in recent memory…no one’s gonna even care about those back to back tough games early in the season
  24. The context hurts Lamar so badly…if there was zero past history he’d definitely still be in it. Getting it rather unjustly last year then not doing much of anything against kc in the playoffs after a pretty bad playoff showing after his first mvp has to have the voters wanting to go a different way
  25. This is exactly how the chiefs looked their first superbowl run. Also, the defense looked pretty darn good against the best offense in the league until the injury situation got unsustainable while they look similar on the stats sheet, that rams game was an absolute disaster without having a valid excuse and I thought we rebounded quite a bit
