Superbowl Game Thread - Chiefs vs Eagles

We likely would’ve lost a close game as we always do 🤣 -

Running on fumes with them locking up the 1 seed early on the back of refs handing them a few regular season games lol. Such cr*p bills should’ve been the 1 seed, not sure we beat the eagles but we definitely would’ve gotten through the chiefs -

Kc has been freakishly healthy on defense the last few years come playoff time…theyre gonna struggle to make it through the afc most years imo Houston is a bad matchup for them that had a ton of injuries and the bills secondary was a joke minus benford. -

Yea injuries knocked us from ‘not pretty but good enough to win’ to ‘tough uphill battle’ against kc the last few playoff matchups imo. it’d be nice if a great defensive player getting injured knocked us from great to good enough to win instead 😂 because apparently we’re always gonna lose a really important piece -

Josh seems a tier above mahomes in the ‘everything going wrong’ scenario tbh. I know that’s probably sacrilege with the chiefs going to the superbowl so much lol but I’ve always gotten that vibe. -

Man this really flipped the mahomes chasing Brady on its head barring a massive comeback. Idk that the chiefs are even in the top 3 teams in the afc moving forward especially if Kelce retires. I don’t see them winning 4 more -

Seemed like we gave a lot less cushion early in the game then benford went down and we were screwed -

I’m saltier haha what brought me back to sanity was chiefs eagles would be a better game but there’s no way that’s true watching these matchups 😂 -

We’d have a better shot than this certainly lol. We’d have to gut it out like the Baltimore game, it probably would’ve been a loss but you never know. KC just has too many exploitable weaknesses…legalized OL holding just snuck them through to the Super Bowl but that eagles dline is so good that that isn’t enough to slow them down if the Texans didn’t lose so many offensive players they probably would’ve bounced kc round 1 -

Absolutely…probably not better enough to win though. Bills have no real weak links on the oline to exploit -

Definitely not but the eagles being underdogs to the winner on the afc side seemed a bit peculiar to me -
lol sure when there’s an all time great QB on the other sideline there’s nothing you can do as a coach right? That’s totally the standard we apply to every coach on these boards 🤣 Josh was great but belichick got outcoached badly. He had all the talent that these playoff defenses that have given us some trouble have and fell flat on his face.
-
Went to the playoffs with mac then his top 5 defense had probably the most embarrassing playoff performance we’ve ever seen to be fair lol I think that pats team was a net negative on bill’s legacy if anything that’s as unprepared of a defense as ive ever seen come playoff time. Daboll humiliated him.
-
I’m sure he is good at reading defenses without this but the guy that was handed the defenses playcalls for years talking about how good he is at reading defenses filled me with rage 🤣
-
One call seems to make the biggest difference in football and the nba at least lets you challenge foul calls and whatnot…the nfl you can’t challenge BS penalties There need to be late tossup calls going against them sometimes to balance out all the favorable ones and it just doesn’t happen. like they have objectively caught tons of breaks the last year or two, it’s at the minimum referee incompetence that just happens to break the chiefs way. But if it’s JUST random incompetence, why does every late close call always fall their way. Over a huge sample size the gamechanging late calls should even out and it just doesn’t for the chiefs.
-
I think they’re scared to do anything to hurt the chiefs down the stretch in a game tbh. I don’t think it’s outright rigged by any means though. the judgement calls down the stretch break their way at like a 10 to 1 ratio the last couple years lol it’s truly insane. Rigged or not rigged doesn’t even matter really, it’s a huge problem no matter what the reasoning is
-
I wanna visit the alternate universe where we didn’t sneak on 4th and a few inches and we got stopped lol. That’d probably be the most criticized playcall in nfl history the whole debate is a bit weird…in hindsight knowing they’re gonna screw you out of a whole half yard on a sneak then you’ve got a 4th and 1 and definitely don’t sneak. There’s no way we didn’t pick up that 4th and inches though it’s pretty much physically impossible…they would’ve had to reverse Josh’s momentum pretty much instantly which definitely didn’t happen

The type of wide receiver Josh needs

I think Chris jones’ head blocked the linesman that could see the ball’s view for a split second and he told the near side linesman that and the other guy just took over for some reason with 0 idea where the ball ever was 🤣. Really really strange. im pretty sure if Chris jones’ head wasn’t blocking that far sideline angle for a small amount of time that spot gets overturned in review. The above view looked nearly 100% conclusive but since it wasn’t right over the line to gain there’s a tiny bit of doubt that maybe the angle was distorting things -
It’s so ironic to me because these very same critics who said the bills were cooked/even josh isn’t good enough to carry this team in the offseason are now arguing he’s not the mvp 🤣 the very same people that voted a ton of ravens to the all pro team and virtually no other bills are arguing josh isn’t the most valuable. It’s peak crazy town haha the decisions they themselves made pretty much confirmed Josh as mvp but they voted a different way and are complaining about everyone else. If anything Josh got robbed of all pro imo. Seems like these people were worried they’d be in more hot water if they didn’t recognize Lamar in some way and it ironically has made everything worse lol
-
He kinda did in the playoffs tbh. That benford injury absolutely torpedoed the gameplan though it seemed like. As much as a lot of the criticism is deserved I feel kind of bad for mcd honestly. we’ve been really snakebit with a great defensive player or two or three being out going against a very healthy chiefs team the last couple years. I wonder if the uptick in man defense will spill over to the next regular season

Back to back linesman mistakes* lol my favorite part is chiefs fans saying ‘but you can’t see the ball’ and posting the angle that shows Josh’s back.. well no sh*t that’s why we’re mad, that’s the view the linesman had that overruled the first down call 🤣 -
Just got a cbs sports notification titled ‘mvp controversy’ lol not sure what’s controversial about it, it’s not like Lamar had some huge blowout all pro win. Only took a couple voters flipping to Josh for mvp to change the result. Josh could just as easily complain he should’ve won all pro and didn’t as Lamar could complain he should’ve won mvp haha
-
I think offensive player of the year and all pro are more stats based than mvp and the voters seemed to echo that. there has to be some distinction or why have two different awards for all pro and mvp? They’re both AP awards
