Oh yea the first drive I couldn’t tell ya what happened haha but after that it seemed like defenders were around but the bengals made all the plays anyway it’s kinda a weird quirk that like 66% of our games against the bengals were in light snow that seems to favor the offense big time too

Oh yea I think that phrasing is fair and that’s becoming more clear as we go…they are just absolutely stacked and have pretty often been considered the best team in the afc. the original post though was like ‘the ravens collapse can’t be used as an example of how there are worse coaches than mcd/how it’s hard to be a good team for a long time because the ravens were never that good’ which i disagreed with the basis of the argument not trying to get anyone to like mcd but Harbaugh collapsing with that roster is pretty monumental…felt like it was getting swept under the rug to keep the heat on mcd when you can easily just criticize both guys lol

Conference loss behind kc though so if kc wins out there’s nothing Miami can do they lost the head to head with Baltimore also…if they win out it still might not be enough they may be the best of the 3 but it will probably be too little too late

Miami almost doesn’t matter to kc…chiefs have to win out anyway and if they do Miami is behind in conference record if kc dumps a game kc is done and Miami has a shot but Miami can’t really keep kc out if that makes sense 😂

Yea the Indy win for kc was humongous…Indy bumbling their way to a 2-2 closing stretch wouldn’t be enough if the chiefs win out. Indy would have to go 3-1 which won’t happen putting it all on the chargers kc has the tiebreaker over Baltimore also and Miami has one more conference loss. It doesn’t look like it but it’s almost entirely in the chiefs control still. The most unlikely thing they need is them winning out (which we did fairly recently in a pretty similar scenario) ooh extra wrinkle…chiefs need chargers to lose to broncos too who might be resting starters depending on the 1 seed situation. That’s a pretty big one. Chargers win that one and they’ve got the division record tiebreaker with kc

‘Grandma could do it with Josh Allen’ is interesting phrasing 😂 I think even with wildly inaccurate rookie Allen for a full season mcd probably wins 8-9 games with a horrendous roster on a ‘purging bad contracts’ year. Rookie Josh missed a big stretch though and we had clowns like Derek Anderson starting haha

I ALMOST feel bad for Kelce…he was having a good year and they all turned on him because he couldn’t catch a ball thrown way behind him…don’t like the dude at all and never have but that feels a little unfair lol

I don’t think the version of Tampa the bills or pats saw is any good to be fair. Hard to disagree with the rest you can really only play who is on the schedule but as far as a future projection goes I really have no idea how they will fare against a good team. it could be a colts type thing where everyone kinda murmured ‘I don’t think they’re that good’ even at 7-1 and those people seem like they’re on their way to being proven right. It could be they go out and keep doing the same things against good teams. No idea. what I don’t think is controversial is they are a very fundamentally sound team without a ton of talent…a high floor medium ceiling type situation. I think a team like that could potentially have a lot of success against bad/ok teams but not have that extra gear to compete with really good ones if they went out and just dominated the bills last time maybe I’d feel differently but that was a very odd game to say the least lol

I mean I was responding to ‘the ravens were never favored to win anything/have never been considered one of the great afc teams’ which is categorically false this board gets a little odd to me at times…the original post was twisting the ravens collapse into ‘not a big deal’ as a way to take away from mcd/beane somehow but you’re perfectly entitled to not like mcd/beane without bending logic like that haha ravens were frequently labeled the best team in the afc We are like 1-2 weeks off from bills fans begging for ravens losses because we were so afraid to see them in the playoffs and now we’re going ‘eh they have never been any good’ 😂

I think they only play hard when they’re having fun and they’re only having fun when they’re blowing people out 😂. He’s probably a little banged up but they seem like they have motivation issues too

A team that has 2-3 tight ends that can catch the football should be a nightmare for the pats on paper…we’ll see what happens in reality though lol. Their linebackers are just classic old school thumpers that stuff the run and rush the passer and can’t cover at all then they rely on safeties to do everything else Josh scrambles and Kincaid hurt them bad last game and I’d expect that to happen again. Really should’ve won that game last time… it felt a bit fluky to me. Football gods paying us back for the ravens win 😂

They’ve got a meatgrinder closing schedule…gotta win one of packers 49ers lions and im not sure they’re going to I think they are another ‘hot start playing an easy schedule’ team but they might do just enough to get in

Lol reminds me of how Brady blocked Peyton manning for years but then manning broke through 9 years in Josh is obviously amazing but there’s a handful of hof-level or close to hof level guys in the afc right now it’s honestly pretty crazy. Idk that the nfc has any…maybe Stafford the way this year is going

The ravens had one of the best offensive outputs in nfl history last year and were the 1 seed in 2023. Last year they were a road favorite over Buffalo in the divisional. Gotta firmly disagree with that first point I think even in the offseason coming into this year the ravens had the best Super Bowl odds out of the afc teams and at worst equal to Buffalo/kc People are so weird about the ravens because they think it’s a Lamar vs Josh thing specifically but really it’s that the ravens roster is absolutely stacked. The falloff there is honestly shocking

The heavily invested in dline was missing three of its best guys to be fair. Even missing Oliver with hoecht and bosa in there against kc they looked significantly better. Granted bosa you kinda expect to miss some time but the other two guys being out on top of that is pretty unlucky

Not the colts who are now a wildcard team If chargers win at least one afc game (Denver,kc,Houston) and beats Dallas it’s definitely over for kc but that’s a bit of a meatgrinder
