  1. Could’ve rolled with hoyer and spent that early pick somewhere else
  2. Wow I was only looking a game ahead and didn’t even consider this
  3. Using analytics can’t really be evaluated on an individual play basis…it’s based on the probability of a play being successful but obviously the alternative could still happen. Over the long term following the analytics should theoretically pick you up a win or two but obviously in a 60/40 should I go for this 4th down type situation you’re still gonna get it wrong a big chunk of the time and fans are gonna second guess you 😂
  4. Honestly looked like the pats gameplan was gonna be more pass heavy last time but we rattled mac right from the very first drive so they had to revert to the wind game gameplan. Tons of extra blockers/linemen declaring eligible and not a lot of passing targets
  5. Doesn’t seem to ever have to throw with much anticipation so he is impossible to evaluate…he is almost always hitting a receiver on a wide open drag or some other route 5-10 yards downfield. ‘ He’s doing a good job with what he is asked to do ‘ was just about the most positive thing you could say about him up until some critical afc tilts late in the season where he couldn’t even play at that level. not sure what the pats saw in him…I mean maybe I’m wrong belichick’s football knowledge far surpasses mine 😂 but it kind of felt like they threw an early pick away just to be kinda sorta competitive in the short term. They may beat us I mean anything can happen in a single game playoff setup…but there’s almost no chance they string together 4 wins in a row against these playoff caliber teams. I feel like a qb drafted in the mid to late rounds would be perfectly capable of what mac has been asked to do this season so it is a bit of a head scratcher. Josh was a huge risk sure…but the upside/potential was clear.
  6. Totally agree overall but I still think belichick is getting a lot out of a roster without that much talent. Granted he’s the gm too so I guess the limited talent is on him too 😂
  7. How does it hinder the passing game more though…football gets tougher to grip in cold temps and it’s just as likely we’ll see a run heavy team get a case of fumbilitis as a pass heavy team dropping passes. Not to mention our qb runs like a fb but that’s another story lol the scheme the pats have thrown at us offensively one fumble by them would be absolutely catastrophic while a few drops by us likely wouldn’t sink our chances
  8. I’m with you on that one…we punted 0 times and never trailed with some offensive weapons banged up and a mostly healthy pats defense. Now in the rematch we’ve got everyone available and the pats defense is banged up pats were three freak non executed plays away from getting obliterated…two dropped wide open tds and moss tripping over his own feet before the goal line stand. Pats were a difficult to haul in interception away from maybe going up a few points if they turned it into 7 and then us driving down the field for the win. Absolutely no chance of them stopping us on a game winning drive with 4 downs to work with in that game. pats have absolutely no business winning this one…not saying they won’t but they are outmatched at just about every position on the field. In a single elimination playoff situation though anything could happen
  9. He made some very rookie ‘I don’t understand the game’ mistakes down the stretch though…but he’s got a chance to show what he can do when it really matters this weekend. ‘Smart on the field’ for him has really been hitting guys that were schemed wide open so far…not saying he can’t do more but he really hasn’t been asked to.
  10. That definitely could be true also. I wonder if he hates hearing people talk about how bad he was his rookie year and how much he improved lol. The fact that we moved the ball at all let alone won some games with that squad was impressive
  11. Can’t argue with the media part lol they are professional agitators. Honestly if the pats win Saturday with a banged up dugger and Barmore and missing Jalen mills it’s gonna be pretty hard to deny the media hype of how masterful belichick was so I will be on your side if people complain about the media haha I don’t see a lot of excuses on the bills side if nothing changes with Covid/the weather forecast. if mac plays well it really doesn’t matter he struggled down the stretch of the regular season so I wouldn’t be surprised if the mac jones is the next tom Brady talks resume
  12. Still stuns me…clearly he had some method to kick low liners into the wind but after the first shank why did he keep trying it 😂
  13. First part I def agree with…they probably would’ve kept him if they could find a gm that would work with him. I think behind the scenes judge is an absolute sh*tshow though…he brings the whole ‘patriot way’ thing of being very much in no way a players coach but the team was not winning so he ended up just losing the locker room players talk and I’m sure they were gonna struggle big time trying to sign free agents. Usually when a coach is on the hot seat players go to bat for them but a lot of the players supposedly wanted him gone.
  14. Haha I always wonder if the whole ‘let’s start an unproven qb we know is terrible to see what he’s got’ thing is intentional tanking or roster evaluation. I’ve got a lot of nfc east fan friends I’d def have a soft spot for the giants if Daboll headed over there lol
  15. They’re doing something wonky with testing where tests you and I would consider positive end up being negative according to the NFL…not sure what metric they look at but they’ve set some bar for ‘recovered enough to play without being contagious’ Pats players that get into commentating end up being the biggest homers 100% of the time I’m kind of with you…he really hasn’t been asked to do much. He had one impressive game against the browns where he dropped all kinds of difficult throws into tight windows but that seems like an outlier now that we have a whole season of data. Pats are very much a high floor/ low ceiling team that is going to consistently play pretty well but struggle to keep up with the top afc teams.
  16. Funny looking back on that…all the armchair GMs in the media said we were tanking and we ended up making the playoffs lol
  17. Yea I’m not sure where the fear of the cold is coming from…it’s just as much an issue for a team that likes to run the football as it is a team that likes to throw if not more so. I don’t think it’s as big of a deal as the OP made it out to be but obviously you’ve got the science behind it. It’s a kicker standing next to a heater all night kicking a mostly warm ball
  18. Judge did a hell of a job long term by accidentally tanking to get the giants two early first round picks lol paved the way for the next coach to have some success at least
  19. There’s probably going to be a lot of offensive changes next season whether Daboll stays or not so I’m not sure how much of an issue that will be…of course that hinges on us being able to draft a few guys that can actually run block lol
  20. I wish I could visit the alternate universe where we have someone other than edmunds starting at mlb in mcdermotts scheme lol it’s a darned near impossible position to play…he asks so much of his linebackers so that he has more options to disguise coverages with dbs
  21. I get stuck watching a lot of giants games living an hour north of nyc lol they’ve got some weapons on offense that they can’t get the ball to because they have an offensive line that was even worse than ours back when we couldn’t block anybody. Defense is pretty solid though when they’re not stuck on the field for 75% of the game because Mike Glennon is the worst qb of all time. offensively they’re capable of being pretty far ahead of where we were the year josh started…still can’t believe we threw him in there with Robert foster at wr1 and it actually ended up working out for him. Honestly josh Allen’s crowning achievement so far for me is going .500ish as a starter his rookie year with that awful roster
  22. McDaniels cheated exactly like him in Denver and was promptly caught 😂 more fun evidence that spygate was a big deal lol why risk it again if it didn’t help the team much
  23. Not bad for second place…we still could’ve used Tyrod though as peterman was absolute dogsh*t and it led to us forcing our rookie qb into action on a terrible roster earlier than planned. I feel like cordy was completely expendable when we traded him.
  24. I wonder who he’d prefer given the choice of Chicago and the giants. Giants roster actually doesn’t seem that bad but judge coached them straight into the ground it felt like. They were pretty competitive for long stretches then it seemed like judge lost the locker room and they shut down jones for the season whos not very good but nowhere near as bad as mike Glennon
