The two elite wrs seem to be stepping on eachothers toes. They have been worse than the sum of their parts

Rookie Josh Allen vs Rookie Zach Wilson
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
He also conveniently left out rushing yards and W/L record...the Bills that year certainly weren't any better than the jets. Josh allen averaged more rushing yards per game in his first few starts than Wilson has total for the season so far -
Especially with starters coming out of the game if it's lopsided
-
The 32nd ranked defense we just played might be one of the best offenses of all time though lol do people think offense is the only unit that matters on the bills 🤣
-
And milano if I recall...and Josh was apparently playing in a shoulder sling

Collinsworth was almost impossible to listen to.

The hold just before that was probably the worst holding call I've ever seen in my life haha -
Is Mahomes regressing?? (Sarcasm)
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to RunTheBall's topic in The Stadium Wall
Right...it's exactly what happened to Josh week one you just don't see it happen to mahomes that often...theres not a whole lot you can do when your oline can't block 4 guys when everyone else is in coverage...not being able to trust those guys up front makes even a great qb very uncomfortable I'm curious what happens to mahomes when kelce retires -
A few Thoughts about the Chiefs Game, in no particular order
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
That grinds my gears more than people saying he's not elite now 🤣 that bills team joshs rookie year had zero playmakers on offense besides josh and he straight up carried the team to a .500 record in his starts...people just look at the td/int ratio and completion percentage and assume he was bad it's super lazy analysis. We had no running game other than Josh and our wrs could not get open and if somehow they were open they'd drop the pass half the time lol -
What did the chiefs do on defense?
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in The Stadium Wall
Chiefs still get away with holding with their dbs every single play I think we wised up and did it too last night though 🤣 we had a few absolutely terrible holds/ dpis that had to get called but other than that they let those guys play. They'd probably give up 100 ppg otherwise lol -

Haha that is criminal...he's probably the most important defensive player on either team last night -

We didn't have milano was that even mentioned lol -

against average teams maybe....the colts and chiefs did absolutely whatever they wanted to us in the playoffs...if Josh didnt carry us we wouldve gotten bounced in the first round. gotta tip my cap to the gameplan against lamar though our defense gave him fits both times. -
Why is everyone sleeping on heinicke lol...is it because he's not some 22 year old rookie? He's honestly been good to great his whole career and they might look at him as the long term option. He's much better than Roethlisberger is at this point in his career. The chiefs defense isn't inside Allen's head...no one could get open last year because our receivers were all horrifically injured 🤣...not to mention they got away with a boatload of holds. I think if we were a little healthier we wouldve lost that game in a close shootout. And this year with our defense playing better we've got a good chance Also he is much more likely to play well though because they have one of the least talented defenses we'll see all year. Frank Clark is their whole defense and he is banged up
-
Yea id say we're being quite complimentary of the chiefs haha I think theyre borderline unstoppable up until the redzone where being able to stretch the field vertically isn't as important and that's where we'll have to make some stops...which is why you see teams defending them the way we tried in the afccg. Letting tyreek Hill beat you deep is just gift wrapping them points
-
I do think a lot of this had to do with having 0 trust in his defense...kc did absolutely whatever they wanted both games whether it was rushing or passing. To be fair to Josh he won the Colts game single handedly playing that way lol so it's not always all bad. I have a feeling he's gonna have more faith in the defense this year and we can play a little more field position provided we get some red zone stops. Not to mention our receivers are much healthier this year compared to the playoff game ...beasley had a broken leg diggs had a torn oblique and Davis had an ankle injury I think
-
I would still argue allen came into the league firing on all cylinders relative to the talent around him. Herbert and mahomes got dropped into fantastic situations because the chargers couldn't win a single close game and the chiefs were already a solid team drafting a qb that they could groom. Allen made Robert foster look like an all pro lol I can't think of anyone else that could do that. This whole narrative of he was bad and then worked hard to improve is pretty exaggerated in my opinion...he won like half his starts with an all time awful roster with receivers that led the league in drops and were last in the league in separation
-
Oh yea I just mean comparing qbs on completely different teams is tough...like if you plopped mahomes onto the bills roster who knows what you'd get. It's scary to think of what josh could do if we had someone like Travis kelce

Bills number 1 in espn power rankings...wait what?
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was gonna say the same thing... a lot of these teams that have beaten supposedly great teams have also barely held on against pretty mediocre teams as well. We have absolutely annihilated three teams in a row and the game we lost we controlled most of the game. -

I dont see how brissett or heinicke count as backup qbs... they are likely both better than the guy they replaced. Davis mills sure that's a backup. Heinicke has been somewhere between solid and great every game in his career except for when we played them -
Mahomes played one game in his career in a josh allen like situation where a 4 man rush was crushing his offensive line and he did not look confident nor calm lol

Our defense was a sieve last season outside of one nice performance against Baltimore and Josh allen carried the whole team lol -
I'm still very suspicious of the chiefs defensive performance in the afc championship game lol they got away with a ton of holds not to mention all our receivers had serious injuries. Felt like they had a ton of 'coverage sacks' from their questionably tight coverage 🤣 refs in the super bowl weren't having it. From the looks of it refs this year aren't having it either. Their dline has been pretty awful this year as well Yea theyre pretty much unstoppable on offense between the 20s and we just have to tighten up in the red zone where their ability to stretch the field isn't as important

W’s in the next two weeks - playoff football?
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yea we'll be 'fine' if we don't win both statistically but getting worked by kc for the third time would be such a huge blow to the confidence. We could go 15-2 and none of that matters really if we can't beat kc
