I think this is what excites me about Josh Allen...it looks like they're putting a lot of effort into developing him the right way so he doest use his legs to bail him out of jams all the time. While lamar is playing at a higher level now I dont think the ravens are doing him any favors long term by just playing to his strengths all game every game. Watching him not being able to hit those throws outside the numbers gave me some flashbacks to when teams figured out tyrod couldnt make throws in the middle of the field and tyrod/roman seemed to have no answers
Oh yea no question it would be on him if they were in the wrong protection. I'd have to rewatch to confirm this which would be torture but yesterday it seemed like it wasnt the wrong protection as much as it was guys couldnt hold blocks down the stretch. That 4th and 27 play was a disaster where they were in a max protect hail Mary situation and gave up instant pressure...the only option josh really had was to throw the ball away on 4th down which would not exactly be a decision that we celebrated either ?
Does it matter how bad their secondary is when you're giving up instant pressure on a 3 man rush in a max protect lol the bills offense was rolling until the offensive line was getting absolutely whooped every play down the stretch...which has happened in every one of these "josh allen has regressed" type games. They had 4 linemen with a shot to block one defender on a designed QB run to essentially win the game and nobody did...think that summed up the season perfectly
Why all the hate for the throw to Dimarco?...yea hes "double covered" as in theres two guys near him but he absolutely had position on them. A little lower of a throw or Dimarco times his jump a little better and that's a gigantic completion. That's an honest question I might have seen it wrong lol but in the moment that play didnt really upset me at all. I did get the vibe he was concussed as well on that should have been game winning designed qb run where he took the "incidental contact" helmet to helmet hit. Hes laying there holding his head for awhile after the play and I thought maybe it was frustration that the play got blown up but watching the hit again it looked pretty brutal
I think the debate is with the "initiate forcible contact with his head shoulder or forearm" part not the "toward or parallel to his own end line" part. looked like a weak push leading with his hands to me which is legal. It is extremely debatable that the call was correct even by the letter of the rule...and given the situation and the way the game was going you absolutely cannot call that.
First post ever wooo. Just for some context...Josh has faced 3 of the NFLs top 5 defenses in a row two of which being on the road in prime time situations...one of which being the second meeting against arguably the best coach of all time. and 5 top 10ish defenses in the last 5 games. Both sides of the Josh Allen debate have valid points for sure but its very possible that they head down to Houston and light up the scoreboard and do enough to beat Baltimore. I cant think of a team that's better prepared for playoff football right now. Sure he hasn't been perfect but hes done enough to get the Bills to the playoffs which is an entirely new season. Josh has definitely shown the clutch gene and maybe he hits on more of these big plays in the playoffs. This is honestly a team I could see playing in the AFC championship these are exciting times boys and girls. Let's hold off on all these josh allen isnt a franchise qb talk until after January haha
