The short throws weren’t really hurting Baltimore…the busted coverages on the deep balls killed them. Miami had quite a few drives derailed in the first half from wr screens/quick throws behind the line of scrimmage losing yardage. That was the strangest game…halfway through I’d say tua had a below average game then Baltimore started losing even more dbs to injury and couldn’t stop a paper bag it wasn’t even superior route running or a great scheme the ravens seemed like they were trying to run cover 0 but the cbs kept thinking they had safety help. Really really odd. Tua made a handful of nice plays and a handful of bad plays but a majority of his statistical output was routine plays against blown coverage sounds crazy if you just look at his stat line but he was pretty average imo…a great qb would’ve won that game by three scores. That was an easy 50 burger for a great offense I just can’t believe how bad baltimore was

Oh I didn’t realize we were talking about the mvp award. Honestly if we keep racking up huge leads I’d prefer us sitting josh to keep him healthy late in games over winning a trophy that isn’t even the Super Bowl trophy. tua would have been pulled late today also if Miami wasn’t so terrible on defense in the first half.

Lol yea if he could do anywhere close to that against an above average defense on a consistent basis. You’re not gonna see defenses like that too often with the schedule the afc east drew this year. He played about the same as he did in the NE game but NE didn’t forget how to communicate on defense in week 1

Why wouldn’t that matter lol? that’s a strange take. I’d take 299 yards against a perennial Super Bowl favorite over 1000 yards against a teams practice squad defense…especially if we’re trying to extrapolate the results from todays game to how Miami will perform against the bills. NEs defense is not as good as ours and they didn’t have much trouble slowing Miami down. That’s a lot better indicator of how we will do than a bunch of dudes off the street in the Baltimore secondary.

Lol that’s not how you phrased it originally… you said ‘I don’t think josh Allen has ever done this’. And no against that defense today I would not consider that an especially impressive accomplishment…tua did not do anything that bridgewater couldn’t have done. Bunch of wr screens/checkdowns then he hit a few home runs to absolutely wide open guys.

Na I think half of us would realize it was mostly a result of the ravens absolutely terrible defense. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many completely wide open receivers in 30 years of watching football and it wasn’t even like they were schemed open…the ravens dbs were quite literally forgetting to cover guys.

Pretty laughable implication though…josh authored a perfect offensive game against a top 5 defense in the playoffs I don’t think a random regular season game against a secondary decimated by injuries really compares. were you a Miami doomer last year? I think your argument holds a little less water if you were 😂

I wouldn’t even say second string…there’s gotta be a hex on the Baltimore defensive backfield or something. They weren’t particularly healthy coming into the game and it only got worse from there. Peters I think made it through but he was on a pitch count because he’s still recovering from an injury
