Which is the first game we will lose this season?
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Fan in Chicago's topic in The Stadium Wall
This pass rush might legit be crazy when hoecht comes back lol I don’t think I’ve thought the bills pass rush would be better than slightly above average in a long time -
I feel like that’s a good OC hire especially since Josh knows what he likes already and can provide a lot of input.. really wouldn’t hate that at all tbh I feel like the McDaniel system kinda became a crutch for tua…it was so good at scheming guys open against bad/mediocre defenses for awhile that he never really developed at qb from the guy we saw years ago..the reads just aren’t so easy in that offense when things are going wrong so it just amplifies one of his shortcomings. that kinda stuff wouldn’t really apply to Josh at all Wow literally did not notice this happened 😂

Such a big mistake and it’s probably exactly what he thought lol…if sanders got a mopup start late in the season for Baltimore he’d probably look pretty good and could work that into a contract with a different team.. I’m not sure he’ll ever start a game for Cleveland and even if he does it’ll be an uphill battle.. the odds of Gabriel being a bust but sanders looking like an nfl caliber starter are very low. Both guys looking bad cuz the roster is bad is a pretty high probability and Gabriel looking good because he’s the qb they had their eye on and sanders not looking as good is pretty high probability also

This doesn’t make a lot of sense for either team to me. McDaniel/grier really aren’t in a position where they’d keep their job if the dolphins bottom out chiefs seem to have a lot of oline and overall depth problems as parity has been chipping away at their roster.. they should prefer the picks over a wr that will soon be on the downswing. Chiefs will only have interest if the dolphins just let themselves get fleeced imo
-
I don’t buy it at all tbh…I think he got drafted right where he should’ve based on his reliance on decent athleticism at the college level to get him out of jams. No shot he’ll have that option at the nfl level. There was some rumblings that the ravens wanted to draft him and he said no with a lot more sources than Eric Dickerson’s brain lol doesn’t really sound like there was some kind of ban Haha was just posting about that and didn’t think of it that way but that makes sense as a possibility

I’m so sick of the ‘regular season doesn’t matter’ take haha probably my biggest pet peeve in sports right now. if the bills had the bye the year we lost our whole LB room against pit I really don’t think the chiefs had a shot. and last year maybe Baltimore going out to KC before us getting KC would’ve made more than a 3 point difference and maybe we don’t lose benford. Who knows. Just cuz the chiefs took the road path once (they still got to rest guys because they had the division locked up) doesn’t mean it isn’t a much harder route
-
I do think the chiefs are in a bit of a different boat in that they’ve had pretty glaring weaknesses for multiple seasons now. Pats was more of a 1-2 bad game thing. not disagreeing with the ‘they’ll be better in the playoffs’ take but some of their weaknesses I can’t see going away even if worthy and rice were immediately at 100% which they almost definitely won’t be It’s gonna admittedly be a silly point to criticize how they won the Super Bowl that year 😂. But the pats absolutely shouldn’t have won that one haha that was the Seahawks 1 yd line debacle I believe
-
That’s a weird thing to say ‘the only thing’ about haha kc lookin on the outside of the 1 seed and probably having to battle a little harder to win the division has massive playoff implications. Idk why people continue to not see it that way It’s not just dumb luck they’re always freakishly healthy come playoff time the last few years and their opponents are pretty banged up. Even the year they were the 3 seed they got to rest guys down the stretch because there was just no competition for the division this whole ‘the regular season doesn’t matter’ thing has gotten out of control imo. it matters a ton
-
Not at all a coincidence…I really swear some fans (probably the very same ones that criticized Josh for constantly passing up underneath throws back in the day) want Josh to regress to Wild thing because it is more exciting to watch in both a good and bad way 😂 A lot of plays josh is checking into runs/underneath throws because teams are gifting it to us hoping Josh forces it downfield and everyone hates on Brady for it lol being one dimensional against the playoff chiefs defense is always gonna lose you the game…they have embarrassed the high powered pass the ball over the field bills quite a few times

Joey Bosa signs with Buffalo. 1 year, $12.6 million

What a rollercoaster for the jets rookie OT. He was getting accolades for stonewalling tj watt then he got absolutely embarrassed by supposedly washed up Joey bosa lol kinda crazy the whole nfl community gave up on Joey -
Is Babbich on the hot seat now?

He’s got a shot to rewrite the script this year…feels like the defense finally has a lot of depth and we have almost always had crucial defense injuries against the chiefs in the playoffs while they are freakishly healthy. 13 seconds game was pretty even…we were down tre and they were down mathieu but every game since then injuries have given the chiefs a big advantage imo if we get rolled over by a team like that in the playoffs this year I’ll def join the anti-mcd bandwagon but it’s possible they do the rolling this year and it flips the script 😂. Should be interesting to see. I just don’t know how you’re supposed to stop playoff mahomes with kaiir Elam and aj Klein caliber players forced into the lineup -
9/14/25 Week 2 GAMEDAY Bills @Jets post game Thread

I think some real impressive performances on the dline that will be relevant against other teams going forward made fields look especially inept in this one. this team is lookin like it’s got championship caliber depth to me and they’ve got a good chance to survive the inevitable top tier defensive player injury against the playoff chiefs this year 😂 Dorian Strong and Logue lookin like competent players at minimum is huge -

Whatever third LB we would’ve added in some of these past seasons would’ve been straight up incompetent which hasn’t helped lol I think we’re in better shape at LB this year so we’ll probably see some more of it -
Grier and Mcdaniel really botched the rebuild…as much of an a** as Flores was he had those guys competing with a ton of picks/cap space to spend still. I think they woulda been a playoff team with fitz if they let Flores finish off the rebuild tbh then they coulda looked for their next qb i feel like in that McDaniel/shanahan system run by tua you either scheme a receiver wide open based on putting defenders in conflict or tua is forced to hold the ball and couldn’t find prime Jerry rice if he was out there lol. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to me they invested so heavily in wr and never got the oline right then they went all in on pass rushers and pretty much ignored LBers that could cover and actually contain Josh runnin up the middle

We’ll find out a lot next week…I think the rams are sneakily very good. Took the eagles down to the wire on the road in the playoffs and that was their starters only loss since the regular season eagles game week 12. Feels like their defense picks up their offense when they don’t show up and vice versa. if the eagles rough them up then yea id agree it’s only the packers probably. -

I’m not sure the eagles are the best team in the NFC anymore…the NFC playoffs is gonna be fascinating. the bye is absolutely massive…even when the chiefs were the 3 seed they got a week of rest and they’re always freakishly healthy come playoff time while we are missing a top tier defensive player or two. If we had the bye in 2023 instead of losing our whole LB room against pit I think we win that game fairly easily. -

There will be a last years rams-ish game where an up and coming team beats us in a tough game and everyone thinks we blew it to a bad team and panics haha I’m trying to think of who it’s gonna be though im scared to say Tampa in case they look bad tonight 😂. Was going through this in another thread…we lose to bad non-division teams as infrequently as anybody and as far as within our division goes I woulda thought the road jets game would be the toughest and our only other matchup with them is week 18 where they will probably want to lose.. kinda hard to see a loss outside of maybe chiefs or eagles but I’m sure there will be one at some point.. -

Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe it’s different posters at times but there were a ton of ‘jets are dangerous and a not much lesser version of the ravens/fields is underrated’ takes in the preview threads haha.. it always gets me when people hype up a team all week then we destroy them and everyone is like ‘ehhh it’s a bad opponent’ like how can people point out all these strengths/good players and matchups on the opposing roster then suddenly they have none of that after they lose to us 😂 all the people that have always maintained ‘the jets are bad’ I have no problem with of course -
I think some fans are a little too close to the team and it’s hard to see it unbiased.. a lot of the times the runs up the middle/underneath throws etc have been working but we only focus on the bad ones was just going through this in another thread but I think the gameplan against bad/mediocre teams is a little more conservative because if we protect the football theres no way we lose those games some of it was the jets dbs/pass rush actually looking pretty good today too

Most of those were bad/mediocre at best opposing qb performances but they were kept in the game by Josh turning it over multiple times against an inferior opponent. He’s taken big strides to prevent games like this the last year or so Russ: 193 passing yards Josh 2 ints bills offense had 4 turnovers total Easton: 215 passing yards 1 total td Josh 3 turnovers easton’s second lowest passing yds per game in his career Thompson: 40% completion, 220 yds passing 2 ints Josh 3 turnovers Trevor in Jax: 118 passing yards Josh 3 turnovers Trevor in London was a bad game for the defense for sure obviously we have not done well defensively against great teams in the biggest games but I think a lot of these supposed bad performances against bad teams are getting misremembered quite a bit
