11/14/21 Gameday Thread: Bills at Jets First Half
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
He’s playing well today but he’s been very mediocre all season -
There’s no guarantee those draft picks develop the same on our team either though. I mean we’re acting like the guy missed something obvious in the offense when it’s a little more nuanced than that…our defensive line was quite bad last year as well. Not to mention we were pretty snakebit with injuries against the jags in that area…we could easily go back to number 1 scoring offense we’re gonna have to wait and see
-
I don’t think there’s much we could’ve done this particular season…maybe drafting another OL instead of basham. I’m sure he knows more than us about the integrity of the oline lol a lot of guys horribly regressed from just last season…some of it could be Dawkins recovering from Covid

Worst Loss For Each SB Champion Since 2010

Yea I’m hoping that’s injury related and I don’t think Dawkins has gotten into the swing of things yet so I’m HOPING this improves lol -
The Bills have the best offensive personnel in the NFL
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think he was being sarcastic lol but I came in here for this convo…strictly skill position we could be close to 1 but if you factor in the guys in the trenches we slip a bit. Sanders is old but playing well when we can block long enough to throw him the ball. Knox was having a breakout season now that he learned how to catch the ball lol all we need is the offensive line to not be god awful cuz josh is a wizard at buying himself time…unfortunately they have frequently been god awful lol Yea rams can’t seem to figure out how to get anyone else the ball not named Kupp or woods…I don’t expect Odell to change anything. We’ve gotten some nice production from gabe Davis at times. Maybe not number 1 in overall offensive weapons but we may be deeper at wr than anyone. And our qb is close to 1 in games where he doesn’t press too hard to carry the team because his offensive line forgets how to play. Brady would’ve gotten obliterated in that jags game -
A couple of those picks were tipped balls/ trying to throw it away while being sacked if I’m not mistaken then he had that one against Houston that sailed on him and the one last week that was just a bad read. Seems like there’s only one accuracy related interception that I can remember and one reading the defense related one…which is encouraging. You’d think the trying to do too much interceptions/fumbles are correctable and I think he’s done a better job for the most part…that jax defense was just in his head though

I don’t buy this they don’t care about winning thing for a second…an nfl player is playing for their next contract every single game and going against a supposedly bad team is the best time to pile on the stats. You can’t just say ‘I don’t wanna hear it’ about the actual reason we lost lol three stupid turnovers and bad offensive line play sunk us. I’m also pretty sure our offensive line does not have an arrogance problem…they know they’re playing awful

This is the 5th consecutive thread I’ve said this in haha but I think people are understating how huge a boost Knox is when we’re primarily seeing cover 2. We’re so used to the Knox of old that can’t catch lol
-
I’ve been saying that in every thread I can haha Dawson Knox was blowing up this whole defensive game plan when healthy…it’s no surprise our production dropped off when he got hurt. Sweeney is a tremendous drop off. I suspect we’ll be back to doing lots of scoring with Knox back and most people will see the jags game as an aberration
-
I mean we give the titans a free pass for losing to the jets because of injuries yet we were missing 2 starters on the offensive line and our best cover 2 beater this season Dawson Knox and our only running back that can block left the game with a concussion at halftime. For a team that’s offensive line has struggled when completely healthy that’s a pretty devastating injury report. Are the issues lurking? We don’t know yet. We were dropping 30+ on everybody when Knox was healthy. If we get some of those guys back and still look bad then we can give up hope but I wouldn’t yet lol what AFC front runner doesn’t have a terrible loss?
-
If stafford wasn’t 33 I’d understand it more…he’s taken tons of shots in his career too. Also they haven’t won anything yet 😁 Maybe not ravens now…they have as many question marks as us it seems lol
-
I think Knox is back this week if I’m not mistaken…if we go back to blowing teams out we’ll know what the problem was lol couldn’t hurt to have two all purpose TEs. It’s just so clear that our answer to the defensive looks we were getting the end of last season was Dawson Knox and seems like it was a huge focal point in the offseason to get him involved. Chiefs have a similar strategy with Kelce but they are a few wr weapons short of what we have so I don’t think they have the potential to beat those kind of defensive looks that we do.
-
They’d be better off with a rb that is an absolute stud in pass protection and can catch the ball…I think the combination of moss leaving the game,Knox being out and missing two decent offensive linemen was just too much for us to handle in this one. We look like an entirely different team with Knox out there. I’m confused how people see this…we are calling runs they are just going backwards lol any time our rbs have a nice carry it involves breaking at least 2 tackles. we don’t have the most important offensive weapon against cover 2 because he broke his hand in the titans game and that is the difference. Knox was going off all season. The two games he’s missed have been a struggle

Referee Tony Corrente corrupt as *****!!!
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Bubba Gump's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think that block was the ‘right’ call by the rules at the time but afterwards they were like what a stupid rule and made some changes to it lol supposedly refs review that play as an example of a legal block now which makes it even worse 😂 You remember their names when they’re bad and he’s one of the bad ones lol I don’t even really watch baseball and I know angel Hernandez is a terrible ump -
All-22 Grades for Bills/Jaguars (The Athletic)
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yea I can’t remember if it was Sweeney but someone dropped a game breaking short pass that would’ve gotten a ton of yac late in the game. Really everything went wrong offensively I’ve been beating the drum on not having Knox being the sole reason for our offensive nosedive. Seems like we made it a point of emphasis to get Knox involved to roast this cover 2 nonsense and it was very effective until he broke his hand. I’m not too worried going forward and Vegas doesn’t seem to be either as we’re still up there in the super bowl odds
