Mac jones is in the mvp discussion? Lol come on now…I don’t mean this to say he’s not playing well but if this guy isn’t the most overrated/overhyped player in recent memory idk who is. Let’s wait til Tuesday to potentially crown him he could be leading his team to second place in the division they have just played an extra game. The pats are missing a big statement win from their resume this season imo and Monday night would qualify

Reading a defense is the number 1 tool for a qb…that’s how a 400 year old Phil rivers almost beat us in that playoff game lol that’s why guys like Trent edwards can have a good start to their career and then get completely shut down. Mac having a couple good games early in his career really isn’t proof of anything yet. You say he doesn’t try to do too much but a team will force him to have to do what you call too much…whether it’s us on Monday night or someone in the playoffs. We don’t really know how that will go but we’ve seen guys like baker mayfield and tannehill struggle mightily when they don’t have the running game to lean on. I would also argue this is the first game that josh probably won’t need his cape with Spencer brown and Feliciano returning. it’s not like we haven’t seen a tough front 7 this season and we’ve seen quite a few formidable ones with multiple offensive line injuries. Pats aren’t exactly strong in the secondary either so there’s quite a few exploitable matchups in the passing game. The doom around here is kind of fascinating…maybe we lose to the patriots who knows but we are objectively fielding a much more competitive team on Monday than we’ve had most of the season even without tre. I think the pats on the other hand have been playing very close to their ceiling and they look good because they’re blowing out bad teams. They really don’t have a statement win to me they’ve just been smart with the football and avoided any unexpected losses. Titans minus Henry, Julio jones, and aj brown and the browns missing hunt,Chubb, some olinemen, and baker playing with a torn labrum are nowhere remotely close to good teams I’d say… those are kind of in the same ballpark as our win over New Orleans. Maybe if we didn’t go down to kc and spank the chiefs the last time we were this healthy I’d be a little more nervous but I think the pressure is on the pats/Mac jones playing a huge game in primetime here

To be fair…how much worse were any of those backups to their starter counterparts? Heinicke vs Fitzpatrick Mills vs Taylor White vs Wilson brissett vs Tua siemian vs Winston Backups is a bit ‘strong’ lol and it’s not like Lawrence or roethlisberger or wentz even did much to us. And we were one of those unlucky few to face that titans offense at full strength and that Steelers offense at full strength so it somewhat evens out. Pats have been luckier imo most of their difficult matchups the opponent has been riddled with injuries. we’ve been cashing in the ‘playing injured opponents’ cards in the wrong games lol

I think the colts loss took the wind out of a lot of peoples sails because we lost in the same way we have lost big games in the past and NE has been running the ball well. missing star and edmunds was huge though so I doubt that will happen again
-
Yea I’ll take struggling/bad over terrible lol having one weak link on the offensive line rather than two is a tremendous improvement regardless I’m more worried about the rematch…I have an odd feeling we are going to win this game without much trouble but I never have that feeling so now I’m getting an odd feeling we’re gonna lose 😂

I love how unrealistic expectations by the media and the fans ends up being the teams fault 😃 it was pretty clear New England was gonna be a tough out…heck they almost got us once last year -
Yea Goodell is strong arming us into getting a new stadium though haha
-
Im all about getting the money while they can but at least do something original haha you can’t follow up TB12 with MJ10 lol I’m too lazy to go back far enough but if someone compared tua to Mac in that they are solid qbs that are accurate and can limit turnovers im on board 😂 this whole pats getting hyped up thing all feels eerily similar to last years dolphins team to me and I could see the same thing happening to them down the stretch
-
I still swear we are in an insane year for josh and everything will go more smoothly with Feliciano and brown back but maybe I’ll have to eat my words haha we’ll find out soon. every game he plays his oline is getting whooped like in the afc championship last year. Not to mention all our wins have been blowouts and most of which he has missed time in the 4th quarter…there haven’t been nearly as many shootouts where a late score puts the game away. Our pass blocking was outstanding at times last season
-
Gonna be hard to roll with a straight up pocket passer in the modern nfl…I think the deck is kind of stacked against him if I had to take an educated guess. Defensive linemen are getting scarier and there are less and less pro ready offensive linemen in each draft. He seems like the perennial playoff contender but not enough of an X factor to carry the team through a tough playoff game in my wayyyy too early assessment.
-
To be fair some of us did the same for Trent Edwards 😂 gotta let it play out then make fun of them if they’re wrong haha I think most people assume qb progression is linear and he will keep getting better but it really doesn’t work like that at all. there’s always a chance he hits a wall and never recovers when defensive coordinators really get a hang of his tendencies. RGIII looked unstoppable his rookie year and there’s a long list of others
-
Consistently inconsistent…when we’re missing two starters on the offensive line our offense struggles. It ain’t rocket science haha we’re getting everyone back this week though if the pats still beat us up in the trenches then people can start eye roll emoji-ing the ‘we can beat anyone’ posts haha I think you got a premature eye roll reaction on this one 😂
-
The media being so late to the patriots party and then overrating them wildly is incredible to me. Like they were clearly going to be good this season as long as mac was decent and he’s playing well. They had some holdouts on the defensive side last year and still had a good defense. The analysts are all talking like there’s no way this was even possible lol
-
Anybody know how similar this mac jones pats offense is to the Brady NE offense schematically? Bills defense under McDermott did a nice job against Brady it was usually the offense that struggled.
-
If we don’t have a bunch of injuries in the trenches definitely…we’re pretty light on run stuffing DTs with two functioning knees and offensive linemen. I honestly can’t believe we have 7 wins given what we’ve been up against…a lot of these bad teams on our schedule that we’ve beaten have some pretty nasty defensive lines. Pats are a solid team though that isn’t gonna beat themselves so I could see us splitting with them. Thankfully they lost to Miami that gives us some wiggle room so a loss doesn’t end the season That’s the perfect game to bring up…overall better team doesn’t mean much when the overall weaker team has a big matchup advantage like the giants dline vs that pats oline. Pretty similar to how the bills have been losing this season but we are supposedly getting all our trench guys back according to McDermott so you’ll be seeing the best offensive line we’ve had all season. If pats still control the trenches and win the game we won’t have a whole lot of excuses on the flip side of that point lol should be an interesting game we’re both beating up on the same ish easy schedule so there’s some question marks on both sides
-
Seems like the healthiest we’ve been all season by a long shot even with the loss of white. Gonna be funny IF we win handedly because all these nfl analysts who can’t make 3 players on our team not named josh Allen will have no idea why our team looks better lol we are currently referred to as the most inconsistent team in nfl history even though we’ve been missing a bunch of olinemen in all our losses haha

Bills have the highest pressure/hurry rate in the NFL??
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think we just got desensitized to how fast opposing qbs have to get rid of the ball against us and now we see a low sack total and complain lol Steelers game Ben was just lobbing the ball up there into tight coverage and his receivers made every ridiculous play possible…that loss still feels pretty flukey too me unlike the others -
Bill B's defensive game plan vs the Bills
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall
They certainly tried that last time 😂 this whole thing is weird to me like we’re talking about how our defense is overrated because we’re playing an easy schedule but they are in our division playing a variation of the same easy schedule as us haha -

Do we know star is not playing? That would be concerning lol I think it’s more of a 50/50 game without him. Edmunds was sorely missed in that colts game and he is back. Klein was absolutely terrible at MLB…with edmunds back we could kick him over to the outside and run less nickel but I don’t think that was really an option in the colts game the way the injuries shook out. Of course Leslie Frazier wasn’t gonna say ‘we already had a terrible linebacker on the field and you wanted us to add another one?’ In that postgame presser after the colts game but I’ve got a feeling that was the issue -
Yea that’s true…it’s really more about how you respond once defensive coordinators learn your tendencies than instant success anyway. If Mac finishes the season strong he could be the real deal. I can’t shake the feeling that they are the 2020 Miami dolphins but they could certainly prove me wrong (I hope they don’t 😂) tua was managing the games well and their defense was coming up with huge turnovers left and right. two bills drive was in a constant state of panic right around this time of the year much like we are now lol then they had a huge game against us with a trip to the playoffs on the line and we absolutely obliterated them so badly that their fans still complain we ran up the score
-
I don’t mean this to prove a point I’m just genuinely curious how many bills games you have watched this season…pretty decent chance pats get stonewalled running the football from what we have seen so far this year when we’re playing at full strength. Our linebacker depth is questionable and missing edmunds and star was devastating against the colts. Somehow this bills defense is #1 in a lot of metrics and criminally underrated and overrated all at the same time 😂. A lot of Henry’s yards came on that one long run with all the holds in the titans game…what they really hurt us with is the play action passing game because we had the unfortunate displeasure of facing aj brown and Julio jones lol I don’t think they’ve been healthy in the same game any other time it seems like. I think we’ll know more about who has the edge when we get the injury report. Seems like we got forced into playing nickel all game against the colts since we lost edmunds and would rather have a decent extra db on the field than a terrible linebacker…I doubt that will happen schematically next week. Not to mention Stars backup at DT was playing with a bum knee. Bottom line…I think people are trying to extrapolate way too much from those two individual games we have had and the titans offense is a couple tiers above the pats offense when healthy

Bill B's defensive game plan vs the Bills
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall
The titans had 350+ yards of offense with absolute scrubs at every skill position last week…lots of turnovers though we’re gonna have to protect the football. I am still puzzled the national media never talks about the injury mess we’ve had on the offensive line…it’s crazy how much this one game is gonna shape the narrative for either team. These analysts play real fast and loose with the contender/pretender label when it’s such a week to week league -

I have a feeling it’s not gonna be close lol someone is gonna blow someone out. If the pats dline is having their way with us it’ll be us but if we hold up decently we’re going to be back to our 30+ points ways and I don’t see Mac hanging in a shootout. -
Bill B's defensive game plan vs the Bills
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall
Still a fairly soft secondary though…they couldn’t cover diggs with their two best dbs last year. I think being unbalanced is actually going to work out in our favor for once…they seem to be beating up on teams like the browns and titans that rely on consistently being able to get that 4 or 5 yard rush when they need it. If we don’t get brown or Feliciano back I will def be concerned though don’t get me wrong. I think we’re really underselling how whack our offensive line talent has been most of this season and reinforcements are coming
