  1. Star and brown were on the Covid list for a pretty short time…it’s a bit of a guess but I’m assuming they were unvaccinated with little to no symptoms but tested positive so they were forced to be out the minimum 10 days. Not to mention star is gonna take snaps from Harrison Phillips who was essentially playing on one leg so even if he’s a bit below 100% it’s still a huge upgrade. Feliciano may not be 100%
  2. Oh yea that is very true…but we’re using past games to try to predict the outcome of a game that hasn’t happened yet so all these things become very relevant. Also two injuries on the offensive line specifically starts to get unmanageable…that is a really complex position and when you start shuffling guys around due to injury it gets very tough…so not all injuries are created equal. We were actually missing Knox as well for that jags game so that’s almost like missing three offensive linemen. You may not have been advocating that but a large majority of people not just on this board seem to be and I think they will be pleasantly surprised with our run defense tonight…unless they’re patriots fans of course lol
  3. It’s this assumption that a win streak means the team has suddenly drastically improved. Chiefs are another good example of this…they look about the same to me they just had a lot of tough matchups early in the season and their schedule evened out as time went on. So the pats losses are no longer counted because people are assuming their deficiencies have been corrected when really they’re just dunking on terrible teams
  4. So many of these ‘streaks’ are mostly a result of favorable scheduling…they got the bottom barrel of the nfc south and the titans and browns missing nearly all of their offensive talent. This whole ‘injuries are no excuse’ cliche isn’t really relevant in this Covid/cap reduced year…I don’t think you can extrapolate much from the pats beating up on a titans team missing Derrick Henry,aj brown, and Julio jones. Pats win streak is over right there if that team is healthier. Much like I don’t put a whole lot of stock in our win over the saints
  5. Is it a ton of excuses? This whole narrative of we can’t stop the run is based on two games against generational type talents at rb that are running all over every team one game of which we were missing our two most important run stuffers. Not to mention Harrison Phillips was starting at DT with a torn PCL. This stuff isn’t rocket science lol those guys are back this week so I’d expect to see a much more stout run defense. Can we lose the game in another way? Yea maybe…but this whole oh no the colts whooped us so we have no chance because the pats offense is similar narrative is wildly exaggerated imo
  6. I think it’s even worse in baltimores case…we were clearly lost against that titans offense at the end of that game. They probably really liked that playcall and they were right to he was wide open…just didn’t execute well
  7. Unfortunately for them that likely won’t matter…we have a stranglehold with a win tonight even if we guarantee a loss against TB…division tiebreaker is pretty much settled tonight with a win. They needed that week 1 win against Miami badly…the odds they beat us in the rematch and we lose to the jets and they beat Miami are slim to none
  8. Jags game is the only game we didn’t show up imo…the team ‘not showing up’ happens more infrequently than you think. That Steelers defense has been banged up all year but we got them at full strength week one and controlled that game…they just hit on every ridiculous lobbed pass into tight coverage. colts game we got forced into an unfavorable defensive scheme due to injuries in our front 7…jags game the offensive line had the worst game I’ve ever seen an offensive line have but it’s still pretty inexcusable despite the injuries we had because they aren’t exactly world beaters on the defensive side. The matchups tonight are better than what we had to work with in most of those losses because we’re getting help in the trenches which is why I feel better tonight. I think we all knew we were in trouble for that colts game missing star and edmunds
  9. Yea I’m confused by this…the dolphins turning into a powerhouse right now would be a great thing for us as they could upset the pats down the stretch
  10. I love how people are simultaneously saying mac jones has been terrific and the pats don’t rely on passing the ball at all haha seems a little hypocritical to me 😂
  11. That is no point if the bills win tonight 😂 we are comfortably in the drivers seat if we beat NE…it’s like a double win because they have little to no chance at the division record tiebreaker with a loss tonight. We are a massive favorite to win the division if that happens…people are also talking like we’re a full game behind them which we aren’t…we are tied in the loss column
  12. Do they expect mac to get much better than he is now? I don’t get why they’re making this claim like the pats went through a 1 year rebuild and now they’re set up for long term success lol they just plugged a qb in who could actually throw the ball…I think mac is just about playing at his ceiling though just based on physical traits. Their defensive pieces are all getting older…McCourty especially he’s got pretty big shoes to fill…the core of that defensive wasn’t really rebuilt at all
  13. I think when I say ‘the pressure is on the pats’ I’m talking more about competition within the division wise than them having more valid excuses for their fans wise. That loss to Miami you guys had early is massive so we are in the drivers seat for the tiebreaker within the division. We will no doubt freak out if we lose this game and the bucs game right after haha but a split with NE if we win the rematch is a big win for us…you guys will likely have to sweep us. I never really saw the pats as rebuilding…this very much reminds me of the year Brady got hurt and cassell stepped into a good roster and played well within the system. I think a lot of the hoopla around the pats is because nfl analysts stupidly didn’t expect them to be good in the offseason so this all seems like a surprise
  14. Lol they are the broncos just because they’d share a record with the broncos? Do people not consider scheduling at all when they’re looking at a team’s record? We’d be at 7-6 with 3 very winnable games left and one tossup. Assuming we lose two games in a row which is a bit absurd…bucs have looked very beatable at times I think every team has at least one glaring exploitable weakness this season with the reduced cap this year…which is why you’re seeing a lot more upsets. To be fair we have been missing 2 starting offensive linemen most of the season and Dawkins seems like his serious Covid case in the offseason has effected him. We’re likely getting those two guys back tonight and Dawkins should get better as the season goes on so the oline could shore up pretty quickly to close out the season. Our pass blocking looked great at times last season
  15. Who have the patriots beaten? Tennessee and Cleveland teams riddled with injuries? Not saying they’re bad by any means but they are certainly in the same boat as us when it comes to that. I think their best win was their 3 point win vs the chargers…every other playoff caliber team has beaten them when reasonably healthy. they just got a couple of those tough matchups out of the way early on their schedule and caught Cleveland and Tennessee at the perfect time. Same deal with KC…this whole ‘getting hot’ thing is an illusion. They just had a brutal stretch of games to start the season.
  16. Or a defense that heats up in the red zone…or an offense that can score quick and force them into a shootout. Both of which are likely to happen. I just really don’t see the pats winning this game I think this is all media hype machine gassin up the patriots. They’re a good team not a great one and even in ideal circumstances are not remotely close to as effective on offense as that healthy titans team we had the displeasure of facing lol I think they’ve only had aj brown/Julio jones/Derrick Henry on the field together for like two games this year and one of those was against us. Whole different dynamic when you’ve got two receivers that can beat you all over the field and a hall of fame running back than what the pats are doing
  17. I get what people are saying with this and somewhat agree but honestly if he didn’t try to ‘do too much’ against Jacksonville I don’t think we even crack 50 yards of offense that game lol we only focus on the negative outcome ‘he’s doing too much’ plays here but there are tons of positive ones also
  18. We did look soft going against the best offensive line in the nfl while missing our starting DT and MLB but who wouldn’t in that situation. I don’t think these analysts even care about buffalo enough to know that fact lol I don’t think the players are mad about the media being idiots…the same media that crowned the dolphins last season when they were on a little hot streak
  19. Yea they’ve played an extra game still the whole ‘if the season ends today’ thing doesn’t apply until their bye week 😂
  20. Haha yea I think we’re better than both them and the pats but they’re both good
  21. Haha I didn’t see that he said the bills are the third best team in the division 😂 I think the pats might be third honestly let’s see what happens tomorrow. Pats and dolphins are very similar teams
  22. They dominated the ravens a few weeks ago also…they’re a good team we were just better in those two matchups lol
  23. I think people are thinking the pats will be able to pick up a 3rd and short/medium running the football on us when we know it’s coming and that’s what they mean by soft. Diggs looked pretty physical outmuscling the pats bracket coverage all game last matchup last time…sanders is certainly a more physical receiver than John brown was also
  24. Ohh I meant our injury situation on the offensive/defensive line improving not excitement for the game. Yea I read that in The NY Times of all places…despite the packers looking fantastic with aaron rodgers playing and the cardinals looking like a tough out. I don’t think the bucs were even the best team in the nfc last year Yea I read that in The NY Times of all places…despite the packers looking fantastic with aaron rodgers playing and the cardinals looking like a tough out. I don’t think the bucs were even the best team in the nfc last year
  25. Has anyone heard anybody talking about this at like a national football talking heads level? I am pretty stunned how little of a deal is being made of this. A qb is balling out with practice squad level talent on his offensive line and we could be getting back multiple more talented guys on the offensive line. But still everyone picks the pats cuz ‘the bills are soft’…we sure heard a lot about how the chiefs only lost the superbowl because they were missing one offensive lineman and they had to shuffle dudes around though lol
