  1. Idk how they can’t see tua is holding their team back…the dude misses so many opportunities. A good/great qb would not have needed that furious late comeback last week. the ravens defense was pretty bad all game and tua just could not take advantage. They just dink and dunk and then eventually a screen or a pass in the flat gets blown up in the backfield and they end up with a 3rd and long
  2. I was in the dolphins ravens game day thread on Reddit last week and most of the dolphins fans wanted him benched at halftime. He’s accurate when his receiver is wide open like his receivers at Alabama often were but he seems so gun-shy about throws in tight windows. He either throws the ball into the turf or doesn’t attempt the pass at all he doesn’t have the arm strength for out routes and he isn’t great at keeping his eyes downfield when he scrambles. That dolphins offense is stacked and tua is going to hold them back by being not much more than a game manager. I still think the dolphins would be good but they could be much better if they upgrade the qb position.
  3. I watched both games in full which is why i used the word ‘pretty’ before good lol if they can scheme guys open tua will find them but he still seems pretty gun-shy and doesn’t even attempt tight window throws. His two really nice throws from the ravens game were the classic throw the ball super high in the end zone so the defender has no chance and maybe your guy makes a great play and comes down with it. they should not have had any offensive tds against NE but the patriots blew two tackles on that play to close out the half I’d want to seal up a win against them early though before they get Byron jones and Xavien Howard healthy
  4. I’ve watched just about every second of the dolphins two games this season and I think people are overestimating the system being kinder to tua actually. Not saying he isn’t better but he’s certainly not much better. Tuas performed about the same against decent coverage as last season…that ravens 4th quarter is going to be a crazy statistical outlier because of how bad that secondary was communicating down the stretch. He’s a mostly one read qb who just won’t throw the ball in tight windows and it showed for 7/8 quarters of the season. he’s laser accurate when his receiver has a step but he seems pretty hesitant to try to throw guys open. They have had plenty of drives stall out dumping the ball out in the flats and losing 4-5 yards when he has receivers open downfield. he looks like he’s still holding the team back to me so I hope people keep talking him up honestly. Lamar would be pretty scary with that supporting cast and I’ve heard that rumored.
  5. I hope not…a division game is much more important. Especially with Miami looking pretty good so far
  6. The 2021 dolphins defense was pretty good, they were middle of the road in yards and points allowed. They’re very boom or bust because they like to play man coverage without a lot of safety help and if they can win their matchups they do great but if they can’t they get torched. they literally can’t play man coverage with the guys they have healthy now though against a team with a lot of potential receiving threats. That’s pretty much their whole defensive identity so they are going to struggle for awhile. they had two matchups against teams without a lot of weapons at the wr position and haven’t looked great in either game.
  7. People just look at how good the defensive depth chart is it seems and they don’t really consider individual matchups. At full strength Miami maybe has a chance to play man against us which is what they prefer to do but I think they’ve got nik needham or igbinoghene replacing Byron jones and they aren’t very good. On top of that Howard isn’t 100% healthy Their linebackers aren’t particularly good either; the strength of that defense is the secondary and they are missing an important piece of that. Any given Sunday and all that but this current Miami defense is considerably worse than the titans and rams defenses we’ve faced
  8. I think they had Byron jones and a healthy Xavien Howard in that game if I’m remembering correctly…they love to play man coverage without a lot of safety help so having banged up corners should be a bigger deal for them than us. I’m sure Howard is gonna play but they’ve got a big dropoff on the other corner spot compared to that game last year and who knows how close to 100% Howard is
  9. I think Levi Wallace admitted on someone’s podcast that he played the sideline when he shouldn’t have on that last play before the fg….I can’t remember what he said word for word though so I may be misremembering
  10. Yikes…I’d definitely try to load up on offense now to compensate for all these defensive injuries
  11. It’s matchups though not comparing overall how good a defense is. They like to play cover 0 man which has disastrous results against us. Our defense will be much better against their offense than their defense is against ours. Doesn’t matter that they’ve got good guys on paper it’s still a terrible schematic matchup for them
  12. Tua is for sure a one read guy…unfortunately for the ravens their miscommunications were oftentimes leaving his first read wide open lol. he doesn’t seem great at keeping his eyes downfield when he buys some extra time in the pocket either I don’t think they’ll have time to even get deep…baltimore had the double whammy of zero pass rush and horrendous communication in the secondary going last week.
  13. You think it’s Williams ? Austin Jackson is pretty bad and he’s on IR and their replacement RT is even worse. Robert hunt is bad, eichenberg is bad. Idk why they slid Williams to center though he’s a pretty high quality guard
  14. It doesn’t look anywhere near as bad as I thought it would based on the caption but that could be wishful thinking lol
  15. Tua was also very average in 7 quarters of the season so far and great in one
  16. Bucs offense is not looking very good so far…that defense has certainly bailed them out though. Pretty surprising they’re 2-0 right now
  17. That was a perfect playcall by the bills that goes for good yardage if shakir just slows byard down a little bit…it didn’t even have to be a full on block…I don’t think byard brings josh down one on one if josh has some space to operate
  18. I mean any given Sunday and all that jazz but it’s pretty illogical predicting the dolphins win this game as an nfl analyst. The defense is mostly unchanged from the last few years except for a few rookie linebackers that haven’t had any real impact and they’ve never demonstrated they can slow down josh Allen. Miami has been weak on the offensive line and the bills defensive line has seemed much more potent since von miller came over in the offseason. Also if the game ends up turning into a shootout I think that heavily favors Allen not tua. Miami is an objectively better team than a year ago but they don’t match up particularly well against buffalo the patriots are closer to being on the right track to compete with the bills than the dolphins are at least schematically speaking. Dolphins really need to load up on bullies on the offensive line and defensive front 7
  19. Tuas play had an inverse relationship with how often marlon humphrey was on the field lol
  20. Also we were great on third down last week…why are people jumping a whole calendar year to last year to establish this narrative and skipping the other game we played this season 😂 we were 9/10 on third down against the rams and the one we missed was a medium yardage situation. That’s the big reason why the sloppy turnovers didn’t hurt us so bad we were unstoppable on third down Not to say moss is good but I don’t think singletary would’ve picked up any of those firsts last night either…there were no running lanes. Moss finds his way into the lineup because he’s a good pass blocker
  21. Titans front 7 played great last night and we still whooped them…that’s the exact kind of team that would have given us trouble in the past. people seem to be sleeping on the titans because they choked against the giants…the titans were the much better team in that one. This was still a quality win. They’re not 1 seed in the afc good (and werent last year either) but they’ll likely win that division
  22. I mean I wouldn’t call it an ‘excuse’ per se…but there’s certainly many easier teams to pick up a tough yard against so i don’t think it’s cause for alarm yet but maybe that’s just me. We lost Mitch Morse for a few of those early 3rd and shorts against a really tough front 7 and later in the game when we had a comfortable lead we weren’t going to risk Josh’s health and run the designed qb run plays that worked well a week earlier one of the third/fourth and shorts was a rookie receiver just not knowing his responsibility and completely whiffing on a block Not sure how us picking up 3rd and shorts at a 100% clip the week previous isn’t relevant though…you’d have to explain that to me. The only third down we missed in that one was a third and 5.
  23. We really evened out the schedule disparity against us and Miami early on. We’ve only got one non afc north/nfc north game to go and we’ve got a decent chance to go 3-0 in those games. I think Miami has got the harder schedule going forward Their offensive line doesn’t seem any better this year…they have some big time weak links there especially now with Austin Jackson on IR. Unfortunately Kyle Hamilton kept rushing the passer when he was only supposed to simulate pressure and drop out so tyreek hill was wide open pretty much instantly on a lot of plays last week. The corner kept thinking he had safety help and handing him off to a safety that just wasn’t there. Tua made some great plays that were well covered in that game but a big chunk of his stats were peewee football level communication mistakes by the ravens secondary that’s pretty much the exact game you’d want tua to have the week before playing us…he’s gonna consistently look to tyreek to bail him out when the pocket is collapsing next week because it worked for him this week and he will be consistently double covered the ravens actually did a good job shutting down the screens and quick passes to the outside which was putting the dolphins in a lot of third and long situations the whole first half and tua looked like the tua we always see. They fell apart when Humphrey went down in the second half though.
  24. The titans front 7 was dominating…which is getting overlooked because they lost by 34 lol we were 9/10 on third down week 1 we are going to be fine
  25. Oh yea everything else was a train wreck for them…but that defense presented some challenges last night. Their front 7 was dominant early on which is the kind of game we usually lose since it makes us completely one dimensional.
